Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1769: Chapter 1671: Contract Termination

Huo Sining couldn’t be bothered to say more to the two of them. Over there, Gu Xu naturally took his wife’s side, his gaze fiercely locking onto the other executives of Huan Rui:

”If this is Huan Rui’s sincerity, then I’m sorry, I don’t think there’s anything more for us to discuss!”

Gu Xu’s words struck the hearts of those Huan Rui executives, causing their faces to instantly change, panic setting in.

The Su family’s inability to grasp the situation didn’t mean the Huan Rui executives didn’t understand the seriousness of the matter.

They all knew Gu Xu’s identity. An entertainment company could afford to offend anyone, but definitely not someone from an influential family, especially not the Gu family, whose members could control everything with a snap of their fingers. Offend the Gu family, and there would be no need for their company to remain open; they might as well shut it down directly.

With just a word from the Gu family, those artists under Huan Rui would have no chance of coming into the spotlight, and soon enough, Huan Rui would have to close its doors.

The executives realized the matter had to be resolved quickly, and they all felt a growing dissatisfaction with Xu Shaoqing. If Xu Shaoqing hadn’t insisted on bringing along these two troublemakers from the Su Family, things wouldn’t have turned into the situation they were in now.

After exchanging glances, the executives made a swift decision.

One of the vice presidents spoke up directly: ”Young Master Gu, rest assured, this issue was caused by our people at Huan Rui, so we will certainly give you and Miss Huo a satisfactory explanation. Su Lingxue and Huang Jingwen are adults, and since they chose to act in such a way, they should take responsibility for their actions. Huan Rui will definitely not cover up for them or condone such behavior of framing colleagues.”

Gu Xu looked at the Huan Rui executives expressionlessly, waiting for their follow-up.

Seeing this, the executives knew that without giving an explanation to these two people, they couldn’t move forward, so they said:

”Su Lingxue committed such a mistake, which has seriously violated her contract with Huan Rui. Therefore, Huan Rui has the right to unilaterally terminate her contract. From today onwards, Su Lingxue will no longer be a contracted artist of Huan Rui, and Huan Rui will not involve itself in her future development.”

”As for Huang Jingwen, as Su Lingxue’s manager, she failed in her managerial duties and even led her artist down an illegal path. After our consideration, Huang Jingwen will be dismissed and will not be rehired in the future.”

As soon as these words were spoken, Su Lingxue’s parents’ faces changed dramatically, and even Xu Shaoqing’s expression didn’t look too good on the side.

But given the situation, Huan Rui couldn’t bypass giving an explanation to Huo Sining, so for the future development of Huan Rui, the company’s executives had to make a decisive decision to remove the company from this incident.

Gu Xu didn’t have any other thoughts. Huan Rui chose to protect itself, which was within Gu Xu’s expectations. His goal wasn’t to pursue Huan Rui’s fault, but to teach that woman Su Lingxue a lesson and vent the anger of his wife.

So upon hearing Huan Rui’s stance, Gu Xu said nothing, but his expression towards the Huan Rui executives improved a lot.

Both of them already knew the attitude of Su Lingxue’s parents, so they naturally wouldn’t waste any more time on the Su family parents. Without even staying for a meal, they stood up and headed straight out.

The Huan Rui executives knew they had just dodged a bullet and breathed a sigh of relief, but Xu Shaoqing understood that though Huo Sining and her husband had let Huan Rui off, they certainly wouldn’t let Su Lingxue go.

The Su Family Elders claimed to come to apologize, but neither their attitude nor their words conveyed any sincerity, and it seemed like Aunt Su’s previous words had already offended the Gu family couple.

Xu Shaoqing couldn’t help but sigh silently, thinking that if the Su family parents could have stayed home quietly this time without coming to stir things up, perhaps the situation could have been salvaged. Unfortunately, these two were too clueless and thought the young Gu family couple were easy to manipulate, not realizing these people didn’t buy that at all.

As soon as Gu Xu left, Huan Rui quickly contacted the company’s PR department. Shortly after, a statement was released on Huan Rui’s official Weibo.

This was a statement regarding the handling of Su Lingxue and Huang Jingwen, consistent with the handling results promised by the executives to Gu Xu earlier.

The statement immediately caused a considerable stir, but due to the previous infidelity scandal, Su Lingxue’s reputation was already thoroughly tarnished. Upon learning that she was being dismissed and released from her contract by Huan Rui, netizens felt justified, showing no sympathy for Su Lingxue.

”Serves her right. Who asked this woman to behave inappropriately, hooking up with a married man and getting caught in the act? People like her should be dismissed!”

”Causing Zhang Jing’s divorce, breaking up a perfectly good family—Su Lingxue truly brought this on herself and deserves it!”

”She was supposed to be this pure goddess—is more like a desire-driven woman. Her public persona has completely crumbled, and to think I actually believed she was the last virgin in the entertainment industry!”

”Exactly, and even with the previous Pearl Powder incident, there’s probably something up. Who would randomly put baby milk powder in a Pearl Powder box? It’s so fake. I bet Su Lingxue was really dealing drugs, and Huan Rui or her family used connections to cover it up!”

”Drug use, promiscuity—Su Lingxue’s future in the entertainment industry is going to be tough!”

”Who in their right mind would hire her now? Aren’t they afraid she’ll sneak into someone’s bed again? Even if a director or investor wanted to, they’d have to check if their wife was okay with it first!”

”She’s so stupid. With such good cards to play, as long as she played it cool, becoming Huan Rui’s top star would’ve only been a matter of time. Now it’s not happening, and she’s ruined her career herself!”

”You guys, enough already. Has no one realized? The most pitiful one here is my dear Shangguan. He’s been CP-bound with Huan Rui for years, fake dating that Su Lingxue. It’s prevented him from having a normal love life. Now that the lie’s been exposed, and Huan Rui isn’t defending him, poor Shangguan’s really got it bad!”

”Haha, finally someone mentions Shangguan Zhuo. He truly was paired with the most self-destructive CP in history, such bad luck! There was nothing between him and Su Lingxue to begin with, yet he somehow ended up with a green hat. I bet from now on, people not in the know will bring him up as a joke now and then.”

”Exactly, such an unlucky bystander. I heard Su Lingxue was the one who clung onto him initially, even deliberately set Shangguan Zhuo up, and Huan Rui went along with it. Shangguan Zhuo had no choice but to go with it, and now with this scandal, he’s been branded. I’m sure the green hat label is going to drive him mad.”
