Reborn As Super Heiress

Capítulo 1776: Chapter 1678: Helicopter

Struggling to stabilize the luggage in his hand, Gu Xu forced himself to calm down, turned around, and said to Zhou Qi:

“I’m going back to the country. You handle the remaining matters with the legal department. If it can’t be resolved, contact Vice President Song. During the time I’m on the plane back, you find someone to keep calling that number you just recharged, keep dialing until someone answers!”

At this time, Wells’ secretary also approached and asked upon seeing Gu Xu, “Mr. Gu, do you need our help?”

Gu Xu glanced at the secretary, not holding back, “I need to rush to the airport, if possible, could you drive me there as quickly as possible?”

The secretary nodded, turned around, and went downstairs to the garage to get the car.

Zhou Qi looked at Gu Xu with a face full of concern, seemingly wanting to ask a few questions, but he could tell that Gu Xu was not in the right mood, so he opened his mouth but ultimately remained silent.

Gu Xu didn’t even bother to explain to the people from the legal department and got directly into the car, sprinting towards the airport.

In the car, Gu Xu quickly opened the webpage, searching for real-time news on the internet, reading each one with extra attention, yet he couldn’t find any reports from Meishan.

Aftershocks continue, rescue teams are making every effort to repair roads and seize precious rescue time, but no exact information has come out yet.

During the time from leaving the partner company to boarding at the airport, Gu Xu was acting entirely on instinct, repeatedly dialing Huo Sining’s number, but what frustrated him was that he could never get through.

He collapsed in the seat, closed his eyes, his mind in chaos, yet there was nothing he could do.

For the first time, he realized that in the face of a natural disaster, he was utterly powerless, only passively waiting.

Upon reaching the Imperial Capital, Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian were already waiting at the airport. Gu Xu got off the plane with a gloomy face, it was already November, a strong wind was blowing outside the airport, and the temperature was terrifyingly low, but having returned from Australia, Gu Xu didn’t even care to wear a thick coat, he went directly to Ouyang Jun and asked:

“Has the call gone through?”

Ouyang Jun shook his head, “Still can’t get through. Meishan, near Qingya, is in the severely affected area, reports are heavy casualties. But currently, the situation is unclear, no official conclusions, rescue teams can’t get in by road, only helicopters, communications are also cut off. I’ve made a few calls to enquire, but got nothing, the elders are also trying to find ways.”

Gu Xu couldn’t wait any longer, as soon as he got off the plane, he obsessively kept dialing Huo Sining’s number again and again, and upon hearing Ouyang Jun’s words, he immediately raised his eyebrows, “You arrange it, we’re going directly to Meishan!”

On hearing Gu Xu’s words, Ouyang Jun was taken aback, “To Meishan? How to go? I’ve contacted the rescue teams, they’re all waiting on the periphery, without orders from above, we can’t do anything.”

Gu Xu’s eyes darkened, he glanced at Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian, slowly uttering each word with unprecedented determination and resolve:

“Elder Qin’s authority, plus my people, requisitioning a helicopter shouldn’t be a problem!”

Upon hearing this, Ouyang Jun subconsciously looked at Qin Tian, Qin Tian shrugged helplessly, both knowing Gu Xu’s temperament, once he’d decided, even ten oxen couldn’t pull him back.

Ouyang Jun was still hesitant, “It’s not safe there now. Are you sure your wife is really in Meishan? If you rush there recklessly, and she’s fine, but you encounter trouble, wouldn’t that be worse? I think you should wait here for news. Chief Lu has already given orders, any news about Miss Huo would be reported immediately, why take such a risk?”

Gu Xu suddenly lifted his head, glaring coldly at Ouyang Jun, “She’s my wife, do you think I can sit calmly here if something happened to her? If you’re willing to accompany me, then go; if not, then stay in the Imperial Capital. I won’t force you!”

Seeing Gu Xu’s sharp gaze, both Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian were stunned, Ouyang Jun feeling somewhat troubled, wanted to say more but was stopped by Qin Tian.

“Don’t say more, Xu Zi’s mind is surely a mess now, he’s not intentionally lashing out. It’s purely out of concern. Put yourself in his shoes, if something happened to Miss Six of the Song Family, you might not be able to stay calm either. He’s right, if an accident befalls his wife, no one can remain composed; to stay this calm, you’d have to be emotionally indifferent to her.”

Qin Tian whispered to Ouyang Jun, “Go then, he won’t settle down until he’s on site!”

Ouyang Jun felt helpless but had no other options. He took out his phone to call Qin Lianshan to explain the situation, and after a long silence, just when Ouyang Jun thought the elder would definitely disagree, Qin Lianshan sighed heavily and said, “Be careful in everything —”

Qin Lianshan was swift, the helicopter was quickly deployed. When Gu Xu and the others safely reached Qing City, a helicopter from the Qing City Military Region and the head of the military staff were already waiting, along with two reconnaissance soldiers dispatched from Falcon who eagerly approached upon seeing Gu Xu, “Captain!”

As soon as Gu Xu got off the plane, he saw many rescue teams and media personnel waiting at the airport. Due to traffic and communication problems in Shu Province, most rescue teams and media personnel chose to stay in Qing City, awaiting orders and notifications from above.

Seeing the fear and urgency in their eyes, Gu Xu felt his heart in turmoil and forced himself to stay calm.

The helicopter rapidly flew towards Meishan; the sky was overcast, just as heavy and unbearable as one’s mood. Gu Xu held his phone, restraining the impulse to keep dialing that familiar number, though anxiety had long permeated his heart.

When the helicopter reached Meishan, as it descended to within a hundred meters, the scene laid bare before them caused everyone on board to hold their breath.

A land filled with devastation, everywhere were ruins and debris, cries, wails, and shouts for help waving arms as they noticed the helicopter’s arrival…

This is an earthquake, this is a ruthless natural disaster, like a great hand smoothing Meishan flat in an instant, the sky dimming, the earth shaking, wiping everything out in a blink, leaving desolation everywhere.

At this moment, everyone desperately wished for four legs or a pair of wings…
