Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1759: Chapter 1661: Turning the Tables

Huo Sining and Xie Yuxing sat on the edge of the bed, curiously looking at the girl in front of them.

Qimi’s face was somewhat pale, still vividly remembering what Huo Sining did to Su Lingxue just now.

With one chop, she knocked out Su Lingxue, then swiftly carried her to the room downstairs. The whole process was neat and tidy, with not a single unnecessary sound.

Seeing Huo Sining smiling at her, Qimi did not feel any warmth; instead, she involuntarily shivered.

Who said this Huo Sining, being an official’s wife, was weak and easy to bully? This Huo Sining is so violent, skilled in martial arts; no wonder Su Lingxue and Huang Jingwen suffered at her hands before.

Thinking of that Splitting Hanging Palm move, Qimi’s neck stiffened, the place where Huo Sining had chopped her still faintly ached.

Huo Sining looked towards Xie Yuxing: ”What do you want to do with this person?”

Xie Yuxing turned to Qimi: ”What illness does your dad have?”

Qimi bit her lip, refusing to answer.

Seeing this, Xie Yuxing waved her hand, saying: ”Forget it, I won’t force you if you don’t want to say. They pushed you into this today, so I won’t trouble you. I suppose after this, you can’t stay by Su Lingxue’s side anymore. I advise you to leave as soon as possible and find another job.”

It’s not that Xie Yuxing is a saint; it’s just that the true culprit is Su Lingxue, and Qimi is merely a pawn in her hands.

And overhearing Huang Jingwen and Su Lingxue mentioning that Qimi needed money for her father’s treatment, it seemed like it was a considerable amount of money; otherwise, Qimi wouldn’t be so under someone else’s control.

Qimi suddenly looked up, surprised at Xie Yuxing.

”Strange, isn’t it?”

Xie Yuxing smiled: ”Not pursuing you doesn’t mean I’m afraid. I just think you have it tough. Your father’s illness should require quite some money, must not be a minor illness, and you have your reasons for doing this. I’ll give you this chance. I hope you’ll learn from this lesson and not aid the evildoer, do something decent from now on.”

Qimi nodded, after a moment of silence, she suddenly asked: ”What are you planning to do with her?”

Qimi pointed at the unconscious Su Lingxue lying on the bed, with undisguisable hatred in her eyes.

Seeing Qimi’s expression, Xie Yuxing was somewhat surprised, while Huo Sining laughed:

”Looks like you’ve held a grudge against her for quite a while. With how she usually behaves, I bet she often throws her weight around, not treating you assistants as humans.”

Qimi bit her lip, eyes flashing with humiliation and anger, but quickly calmed down:

”I can give you some advice. Since she set up a trap to ruin you, you could turn it against her. Anyway, that Luo Shaoqun is a lecher. Once he’s in the room, even if he sees that it’s Su Lingxue and not the person he expects, he will most likely make a move. He won’t leave empty-handed.”

Huo Sining was stunned, looked up and exchanged a glance with Xie Yuxing, and suddenly laughed:

”An eye for an eye, that’s actually a good idea. But no matter what, Su Lingxue was once your employer; why would you suggest using this trick against her?”

A cold smile appeared on Qimi’s lips: ”I never planned to continue working under her. It’s her own doing that led to this today.”

”Those reporters downstairs were probably tipped off by her. If you think the matter isn’t big enough, you can notify the reporters again. The news of actress Su Lingxue being caught in bed with married man Luo Shaoqun is more sensational than new artists having affairs with veteran ones. Such big news, once the reporters hear it, they’ll flock to it without a doubt.”

At this point, Qimi’s eyes filled with resentment, her expression twisted. Suddenly thinking of something, she pulled out a bottle from her bag, took a small white pill, and placed it in Su Lingxue’s mouth.

Unlike before when she fed Huo Sining with a different mindset, this time she planned to go for broke without a moment’s hesitation.

”I can only help you to this point. What to do next is up to you.”

A hint of self-mockery appeared on Qimi’s face, her smile somewhat desolate.

”Wait!”

Huo Sining initially intended to remain uninvolved, but Qimi’s recent actions shook her deeply.

This Qimi in front of her reminded her of herself in a past life when she was in a desperate situation, sparking pity within Huo Sining.

”What illness does your brother have?” Remembering Huang Jingwen’s words earlier, Huo Sining couldn’t help but ask.

Qimi turned back to look at Huo Sining, hesitated briefly, and said: ”Congenital heart disease, needs bypass surgery.”

Huo Sining didn’t really understand this illness, but seeing the bleakness in Qimi’s eyes, she guessed it must require a lot of money. She thought for a moment and said:

”Leave your contact information with me.”

Qimi was puzzled, but seeing the seriousness in her expression, she reported a series of phone numbers without saying much.

After Qimi left, Xie Yuxing finally asked:

”You want to help her? But heart bypass surgery isn’t cheap, surgery costs alone exceed three hundred thousand, not to mention the continuing expenses.”

Xie Yuxing had been acting for years, but since she was only a professional supporting actress, despite acting in many films, she didn’t have much savings. To her, several hundred thousand was a large amount.

Huo Sining just laughed: ”Do you think I’d lack this mere hundreds of thousands?”

Xie Yuxing was taken aback, then awkwardly laughed:

”I almost forgot, the news says you can gamble on stones, appraise treasures, and even understand gambling. You could easily earn back these hundreds of thousands with any of those. But I’m a bit confused, why do you want to help her?”

Huo Sining smiled and asked: ”Don’t you think this Qimi is quite cunning? Her thoughts just matched with the plan I proposed. Such a woman, once she hardens her heart, is really terrifying. She’s smart and knows how to assess the situation. Though she is just a little assistant, I’m sure she has greater ambitions.”

Xie Yuxing was confused: ”So what? No matter her ambition, without money and influence, what big splash can a little assistant make?”

Hearing Xie Yuxing’s indifference, Huo Sining shook her head:

”Not much, just reflecting. If given a chance, her development wouldn’t be limited to this. Su Lingxue couldn’t discern the people around her, letting such talent slip away, how foolish.”

Xie Yuxing vaguely understood Huo Sining’s implication: ”You want to give her a chance?”

”Maybe, depends if she can seize it.” Huo Sining’s expression was full of intrigue.
