Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1791: Chapter 1693: Save My Son

Hearing this abrupt shout, everyone was stunned and turned to look behind them.

The medical staff also looked up.

The crowd made way, revealing a woman dressed in protective gear and wearing a helmet. She stepped closer to the child, cast a cold glance at the medical staff, and said:

”His body is currently being supported by that rod. If you move him now, you’re effectively breaking the last balance of his body, which is like giving him a final push straight to see Yama!”

The medical staff were so frightened by these words that they withdrew their hands and glanced in horror at the child on the ground.

A middle-aged man, puzzled and doubtful, looked toward the helmeted woman: ”How do you know this? Which hospital are you from?”

This sudden woman was none other than Huo Sining.

Huo Sining didn’t answer the middle-aged man but squatted down, reaching out to gently examine the child’s abdomen. Then she looked up and firmly asked the medical staff, ”Who among you is a surgeon?”

The middle-aged man frowned at this and said, ”I am.”

Huo Sining nodded and said, ”I’ll stop the bleeding in a moment to ensure no more spurting from his wound. How quickly can you remove the rod from his body?”

The middle-aged man widened his eyes in disbelief, looking at Huo Sining with doubt: ”What did you say? You can stop the bleeding? How will you do that?”

Huo Sining replied, ”That’s not your concern. I have my methods. Just tell me how quickly you can remove the rod.”

The middle-aged man glanced at the wound on the child’s abdomen and said:

”If it’s mechanically extracted, it would only take a few seconds. But manually, including prep work, would take at least twenty minutes. And without scanning and testing, we can’t be sure if this rod has pierced the child’s internal organs. Until that’s clear, we can’t move the rod easily.”

Huo Sining waved her hand dismissively and said, ”You don’t need to worry about that. Just figure out how to remove the rod.”

The middle-aged man disagreed, ”How can that work? Without a proper examination, removing it recklessly could damage his internal organs, and he could still be lost!”

Huo Sining raised her eyebrows and said to the middle-aged man, ”Why not? If you don’t remove it, this child won’t last either. Even if you take a gamble, there’s a fifty-fifty chance, isn’t it true that your hospital performs surgeries with less than a thirty percent success rate, yet patients still opt for treatment?”

These words left the middle-aged man speechless, his face flushed red, unable to retort.

Due to the urgent situation, no one noticed the flaw in Huo Sining’s words when she referred to ”your hospital,” revealing that she wasn’t a staff member. Yet everyone’s attention was on the child, and no one questioned the oddity in Huo Sining’s statement.

Li Gang and others who followed Huo Sining saw her rush into the crowd and speak to the middle-aged man. They looked at each other in confusion, not understanding why Huo Sining would take on such a mess.

It was obvious that saving this child was near impossible. It was a thankless task, and if it failed, the child’s parents or even the onlookers would blame Huo Sining.

Under normal circumstances, people would avoid such a situation. Li Gang had already noticed some of the medical staff wanting to run away; they would have slipped away if not surrounded by people.

Yet Huo Sining, instead of avoiding it, took the initiative to step forward and take responsibility for everything.

In the few hours of interacting with Huo Sining, Li Gang and the others realized that Miss Huo was indeed accustomed to a life of luxury. She was not only kind-hearted but also straightforward, without much scheming. Seeing the situation, they felt it was inappropriate and tried to stop Huo Sining:

”Miss Huo, this is a matter for the doctors. Let’s check out somewhere else. Don’t take over the doctors’ work.”

As he said this, Li Gang kept giving Huo Sining winks, intending for her to leave.

But Huo Sining turned a deaf ear and merely turned to look at the pair of desperate parents.

”Now you have a choice: save your son or just let him die like this. But if you save him, the risks are high, and he’ll endure considerable pain in a short time. Decide for yourselves!”

The woman, who had fainted, was woken by pinching her philtrum. Hearing Huo Sining’s words, she suddenly felt hopeful and rushed toward Huo Sining, grabbing her leg, nodding earnestly, and exclaimed:

”Save, save, save! Please, miss, please save my son! As long as you save my son, I’ll do anything in return!”

Huo Sining turned to the child’s father, who lowered his head to look at his son and nodded with difficulty.

Huo Sining nodded slightly and said to the middle-aged man, ”Doctor, I understand you have a lot of concerns. But this child, he’s like the current Mount Da Mei. Although disaster strikes, everyone still holds hope. With effort, we can overcome the calamity and find hope again. This child could be a morale booster! Therefore, we must save this child, and not just save him, but save him alive!”

Hearing Huo Sining, the middle-aged man’s face trembled slightly, and his initially resistant and disapproving face was touched.

However, the doctor wasn’t just any ordinary person. With nearly twenty years of clinical experience and countless patients handled, he knew that such complex emergency conditions require an expert team to convene and work together, not just succeeding with slogans.

So, his face showed a bitter smile as he told Huo Sining, ”Doctor, it’s not that I don’t want to do it, but it’s an obviously impossible task to remove the object. The child will have a massive hemorrhage, and it will be uncontrollable then...”

Huo Sining smiled at the doctor and said, ”Sorry, I didn’t clarify earlier, doctor. My mentor was the famous doctor Professor Nie Dechang. Although my specialty is traditional Chinese medicine, my research focuses on coagulation disorders. I happen to have an auxiliary hemostatic agent that’s highly effective for patients with coagulation issues. Otherwise, I wouldn’t dare make such bold claims in front of you.”
