Reborn As Super Heiress

Capítulo 1755: Chapter 1657: The Courage of a Bear, the Boldness of a Leopard

It’s no wonder Huang Jingwen is timid.

Once bitten, twice shy.

Although Huang Jingwen knew that Huo Sining had a strong background, it was just hearsay; she had never verified how strong it was.

They did not believe in her strength and attempted to frame Huo Sining using the usual tactics of the entertainment industry. However, they failed and ended up being outwitted by her.

That woman was ruthless, and her actions were clean and efficient. If it weren’t for the mishap that allowed Yang Suxin to swap the items, they would still be in jail.

Having suffered a major setback at Huo Sining’s hands, and after Xu Shaoqing’s warning, Huang Jingwen gave up on the idea of revenge.

Because she knew very well that provoking Huo Sining would lead to no good outcome.

However, Su Lingxue couldn’t swallow her pride and insisted on revenge. No matter how much Huang Jingwen tried to persuade her otherwise, it was futile, so she had to concede.

A hint of a crafty smile appeared in Su Lingxue’s eyes:

“You’re cautious, but what does this have to do with us? From start to finish, it seems like we were just drinking, and we’re not the hosts. After drinking, we went back to our rooms, so it has nothing to do with us.”

Huang Jingwen was momentarily confused but then immediately understood Su Lingxue’s plan.

Luo Shaoqun was the host, and he was the one caught doing the wrong thing. Even if the truth came out, it wouldn’t be connected to them at all.

Su Lingxue was clearly planning to make Luo Shaoqun take the fall.

“Besides, ******, it was consensual. Who can say for certain what really happened? The entertainment industry isn’t new to scandals, and if the media reports it, Xie Yuxing might end up being accused of instigating it by Luo Shaoqun. Who seduced whom, who can say?”

The arrogance in Su Lingxue’s eyes grew stronger: “You really don’t need to be so cautious. I don’t dare touch that Huo woman, but I can’t do anything to her friends? Even if they find out it’s related to me, will the Huo family really make trouble for me over an unrelated actress?”

“There’s no conflict of interest; Xie Yuxing doesn’t have any background. The Huo family won’t oppose Huan Rui over such a small issue, because it’s a losing proposition.”

“If anyone is to blame, it’s Xie Yuxing for not being smart, befriending the wrong people! I’ll show them so they won’t think I’m easy prey!”

“Brilliant!” Huang Jingwen agreed wholeheartedly and gave a thumbs up.

Su Lingxue, with the pride of a queen, lifted her chin:

“Don’t be too quick to flatter me; there’s still a show to put on. First, get this woman into the car. Be careful, don’t dirty my car.”

With that, Su Lingxue pushed open the door and walked into the private room. Huang Jingwen shot a disdainful look at the drunken woman on the floor, waved for a waiter, tipped him fifty bucks to help carry Huo Sining to the back seat of the car.

As soon as the car door was shut, inside the dark car, Huo Sining’s eyes snapped open, filled with anger.

She had suspected that Su Lingxue had ulterior motives for being so courteous and anticipated that another move was waiting!

Though she hadn’t guessed that Su Lingxue’s target wasn’t her, but Xie Yuxing!

Su Lingxue returned to the private room with a smile, and upon entering, saw Xie Yuxing slumped over the table, drunk.

Several actors, still sober, urged Su Lingxue to continue drinking with them. Su Lingxue quickly declined:

“I won’t drink anymore; it’s getting late, and I have a shoot tomorrow afternoon. I’ll take Sister Xing back; you all continue.”

Luo Shaoqun, seeing Su Lingxue was leaving with Xie Yuxing, immediately panicked. Drunkenly, he grabbed Su Lingxue’s arm and asked, “Where’s Huo Sining?”

Su Lingxue looked at him with disdain. This Luo Shaoqun was driven by lust, daring even to pursue a wife of the Gu family; did he think he was invincible?

As she contemplated this, she maintained her composure, pulling her arm from Luo Shaoqun’s grip, and laughed:

“Huo Sining already left. She asked me to thank you and said she’d invite you for dinner next time.”

“Really?”

Luo Shaoqun perked up at hearing that. Fueled by alcohol, visions of Huo Sining’s doll-like face heated his imagination.

Though he had mingled with plenty of women in the entertainment industry, official circles were uncharted territory for him.

Huo Sining’s identity, status, wealth, and looks were unparalleled. Plus, she was the Gu family’s daughter-in-law, which made her an even more enticing conquest for Luo Shaoqun.

Luo Shaoqun, used to debauchery, found the typical women from the industry no longer satisfying his twisted desires. When someone as fresh and rare as Huo Sining appeared, not to mention she was married, how could he resist?

The mere thought of Huo Sining’s form writhing beneath him sent a hot rush to a particular region, almost making him lose control.

Yet, despite his drunkenness, he maintained some public decorum, aware of prying eyes and wary of revealing his inner thoughts, quickly shook his head to sober up.

Su Lingxue chuckled and nodded earnestly, suddenly thought of something, and purposefully tapped her head before discreetly slipping a note into Luo Shaoqun’s hand. Bending towards him, she whispered:

“This is from Huo Sining, for you to call her later.”

Luo Shaoqun glanced down, and what he saw on that note was a string of numbers – what else could it be but a phone number?

This revelation thrilled Luo Shaoqun. So, it wasn’t just his imagination; Huo Sining had a reciprocated interest?

Having been in the industry for so long, Luo Shaoqun was familiar with many high-society women. It was known that women in those circles were mere pawns of power and wealth; their marriages were often just facades.

Could it be that Huo Sining was also on bad terms with her Gu family husband and seeking fulfillment elsewhere? Why else would she contact him?

Thinking this, Luo Shaoqun couldn’t help but feel delighted, his face flushed, his grip on the note tightened, and his palms began to sweat involuntarily.

“Shaoqun, I’ll take Huo Sining back now.”

Seeing that the play was complete, Su Lingxue didn’t linger longer and quickly excused herself.

Luo Shaoqun was too absorbed in thoughts of Huo Sining, barely acknowledging Su Lingxue and Xie Yuxing’s comings and goings, waving offhandedly with a smile:

“Go, go. Be safe on your way back.”

Su Lingxue nodded with a smile, assisting the drunken Xie Yuxing out of the venue.
