Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 932: Chapter 928: Trapped, Danger!

”Ah——”

A piercing scream cut through the air as the secretary clutched his eyes with both hands, crumpling to the floor in a painful and twisted heap. His entire body curled up into a ball, and blood trickled through his fingers.

Hattori Keiko expressionlessly pulled a handkerchief from her pocket with her other hand, meticulously wiping the blood off her fingers. She then casually tossed the handkerchief to the ground, casting a disdainful glance at the secretary on the floor. She indifferently remarked:

”You’ve lost a pair of eyes. In return, you’ll have a lifetime of wealth and prosperity for you and your family, free from want. I’d say your eyes were well worth the price.”

Having said this, Hattori Keiko turned her head and shot a cold glance at Huo Sining before turning around to walk out of the store.

Huo Sining was already stunned by the sudden change of events. She thought that by demanding her prize, Hattori Keiko would relent and perhaps try to appease her with some good words or promise not to bother her again. However, she never expected the woman to be so ruthless.

Recalling the scene of the secretary being blinded, Huo Sining involuntarily shuddered.

Even though she now possessed extraordinary abilities, even though she had died once, even though she had witnessed numerous major events over the past year, in the face of such cruel and horrifying bloodshed, she was still so frightened that her limbs turned ice-cold, and she was enveloped by an unbearable chill.

To act personally, swiftly and decisively, without hesitation in her actions, and to remain completely unfazed by the secretary’s wretched state — this cold-blooded and inhumane behavior from Hattori Keiko was terrifying!

Not only was Huo Sining frightened, but the onlookers were also stunned. For a while, the entire shop was silent, and no one dared to speak.

No one expected things to end this way. It was merely a personal grudge between Huo Sining and Hattori Keiko, but in the end, Hattori Keiko broke her promise and suddenly turned hostile, making the secretary an innocent victim.

The crowd exchanged bewildered looks, not knowing what to say. It was three or four minutes of silence before someone finally reacted.

”This won’t do; he’s losing too much blood. He must be rushed to the hospital immediately.”

The onlookers couldn’t bear it any longer. Even though Hattori Keiko had committed the cruelty, having witnessed it firsthand, they couldn’t just sit by and do nothing now that the instigator had left.

Someone quickly called an ambulance, while others maintained order, ushering the onlookers outside and clearing the way at the store’s entrance.

The plump woman could no longer remain indifferent. After all, it happened in her store, and if she ignored it, her shop’s reputation would be in ruins. She knew the losses that would entail, so even unwillingly, she had to step up to take responsibility for the incident.

The farce ended with the secretary’s urgent trip to the hospital for treatment. Huo Sining stood outside the gambling stone shop, clutching the purple jade in her hand, feeling overwhelmingly complex emotions she couldn’t quite describe.

Even though she didn’t cause the incident, it started because of her, leaving a knot in her heart. Initially, she had come to find Nara Nigawa excitedly to plan a trip with him, but now she was no longer in the mood for that.

It was like her appetite had suddenly been spoiled, leaving her uninterested in anything. Not even the newly revealed High Ice Type Jadeite brought her any joy.

Perhaps sensing Huo Sining’s emotional turmoil, Nara Nigawa reached out and patted her shoulder:

”You don’t have to carry any psychological burden. This incident has nothing to do with you. It was Hattori Keiko constantly provoking you, and you weren’t the one who did it. Rest assured, the Hattori Family will handle the fallout of such a scandal.”

Huo Sining nodded, but what she truly felt remained known only to herself.

Nara Nigawa, knowing she was scared, wasn’t sure how to comfort her, so he changed the subject: ”Come on, I’ve just acquired a set of antiques. I’ll take you to see them.”

Huo Sining didn’t object and followed Nara Nigawa back to his thrift shop. However, she seemed a bit absent-minded, appearing dispirited and lacking energy.

In his heart, Nara Nigawa sighed. After all, she was just a young girl, not yet twenty. Witnessing such a scene must have been a big shock for her, and it wouldn’t be easy for her to get over it quickly. That knot in her heart would likely remain buried for some time.

Realizing this, Nara Nigawa’s impression of Hattori Keiko and the entire Hattori Family plummeted. Such a family had been able to run rampant for too long.

After staying in the thrift shop for over an hour, Huo Sining prepared to leave. After such an incident, she wasn’t in the mood to go treasure hunting and decided to return to school to adjust her emotions.

She absentmindedly left the shop, turned down an alley, intending to pass through it to catch a ride on the main street. However, just a short distance away, she encountered three or four young men less than fifty meters ahead.

Still caught up in the recent events, Huo Sining didn’t notice anything unusual about these individuals. When one of them approached and asked in broken Chinese, ”Are you Huo Sining?” she was taken aback.

Huo Sining was stunned upon hearing this. As she looked up, she saw those young men exchanging glances, their eyes filled with a fierce and murderous intent that was undoubtedly real.

Feeling that something was wrong, she was about to ask when a sudden flash of understanding crossed her mind, causing her face to pale as she hurriedly backed away into the alley.

Evidently, these people were coming for her!

Unfortunately, by the time she realized it, it was already too late. As she retreated, only a few steps back, she saw several more strangely dressed men appear behind her. Huo Sining’s heart sank, and she instinctively glanced around, noticing what looked like a fork in the alley ahead. She almost reflexively sprinted toward it.

Little did she know, running toward that fork only played into those thugs’ hands.

This alley was a common route for those familiar with Ginza, connecting it to the main street. While it was currently empty, the thugs weren’t engaging in anything legitimate and were also worried about being seen.

However, the path Huo Sining ran toward was a deserted dead-end street. By heading down there, she was effectively trapping herself. Once the thugs blocked the exit, she had nowhere to go and would be at their mercy.
