Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 906: Chapter 902: A Sensational Success

The person who estimated the value was quite conservative, but his statement was quickly verified by others.

Most of the people who came to Jubao Pavilion for the opening ceremony were insiders, knowledgeable in the field. As soon as they saw this red coral, their eyes gleamed green, and each one showed excitement and a strong sense of possession, eagerly inquiring about the price.

”Miss Huo, are you selling this red coral? I’m willing to pay ten million for it!”

It was Xu Shilong, the general manager of the Imperial Capital Auction House, whom Huo Sining had met during her participation in the ”Folk Treasure Hunt” activities, who spoke.

Huo Sining recorded four episodes of ”Folk Treasure Hunt” in total and had dealt with Xu Shilong several times. Although he was a bit shrewd and business-minded, he was decent, and Huo Sining had a rather good impression of him.

Initially, Huo Sining hadn’t sent an invitation to Xu Shilong for Jubao Pavilion’s opening. However, somehow, he got wind of it and showed up, leaving Huo Sining no choice but to let Li Quan send him an invitation.

Xu Shilong wasn’t very passionate about antiques, but he had no immunity to natural gems like Jade Heaven Beads, Mutton Fat Jade, and this Blood Coral. Since hearing from Professor Shi that Huo Sining cut out seven Jade Heaven Beads in Ruili, Xu Shilong had a strong interest in them.

In fact, Xu Shilong had more than once expressed his intention to acquire the seven Jade Heaven Beads from Huo Sining, but each time, he was rejected by her without any courtesy.

Normally, a person would give up after repeated setbacks, but Xu Shilong was extremely persistent and thick-skinned. Even after being rejected by Huo Sining, he wasn’t offended; he would ask again the next time he met her, leaving Huo Sining quite helpless.

This time, Xu Shilong attended the new store opening ceremony at Jubao Pavilion with the intention of testing Huo Sining’s stance again. But before he got the chance to inquire about the Jade Heaven Beads, he was enthralled by a stunning high-quality red coral. His eyes heated up, and he completely forgot about the beads, fixating on acquiring this Blood Coral.

”President Xu, your auction business should be doing well, right? Why are you being so stingy? I’ll offer fifteen million for this coral!”

Xu Shilong was thinking he could strike first, but unfortunately, someone was quicker than him. Ouyang Jun, who always enjoyed stirring up trouble, couldn’t stand seeing Xu Shilong succeed, and directly added three million on top of Xu’s offer.

Fifteen million!

This price instantly astonished the crowd in the store.

A coral tree selling for such a high price made even those unfamiliar with the trade turn red-eyed when looking at it.

Xu Shilong, standing aside, was furious. He just wanted to buy a Blood Coral; he didn’t care about the Jade Heaven Beads anymore. Why couldn’t people let him have that?

”Eighteen million!” Xu Shilong exclaimed, biting his teeth.

”Twenty million.” Ouyang Jun provocatively glanced at Xu Shilong, indifferently continued to increase the price.

Standing nearby, Huo Sining was both amused and exasperated, instinctively glaring at Ouyang Jun before speaking slowly, ”President Xu, Brother Ouyang, there’s no need for you two to argue. This piece is intended for a brief exhibition in the store, not for sale.”

While there are top-notch red corals available, Huo Sining knows that once hers is sold, finding an even better red coral would be a challenge.

For a red coral to grow to a height of one and a half meters, it’s not just a matter of time; it requires the right conditions in terms of time, place, and people. Encountering such a treasure is luck. Especially since this red coral symbolizes prosperity and fortune, displaying it as a store centerpiece during the business’s opening period might bring thriving business.

Huo Sining was reluctant to sell it and had already planned to gift this coral to Master Gu. Currently, it’s merely temporarily displayed at Jubao Pavilion; she’ll take it down on the old master’s birthday.

No matter how high these two offered, Huo Sining didn’t intend to give Xu Shilong and Ouyang Jun the slightest hope, straightforwardly saying it’s not for sale to dispel any of their thoughts.

However, the onlookers couldn’t understand. A coral tree selling for twenty million, what concept is that? The store’s investment cost was probably only a few million. If this coral tree were flipped, the owner would make a huge profit. Despite such an outrageous high price, the owner remained unmoved, refusing directly without even considering.

This equates to rejecting twenty million coming right to the door. These spectators, thinking about so much money missed, felt like they themselves lost twenty million, leaving them both depressed and anxious. They were gritting their teeth, wishing they could agree on behalf of Huo Sining.

But the item belonged to its owner. No matter how regretful they felt, if the owner didn’t relent, they couldn’t force agreement.

The onlookers couldn’t help but sigh waving their heads as they dispersed. Curious ones still lingered around the Blood Coral, taking advantage of the store’s distraction to sneak photos with their phones.

Ordinarily, photography wasn’t allowed in the store, but with the opening business too busy, both Huo Sining and Li Quan couldn’t deal with those taking photos, letting them be.

In less than a morning, the whole Liulichang Street stirred with excitement as word spread of Jubao Pavilion’s new store opening, showcasing a Blood Coral worth twenty million. This news attracted many to come and see, increasing the crowd.

Besides, those who liked to spread news online sent pictures of the Blood Coral, quickly propagating the image across forums and Weibo. Initially, some doubted the image’s authenticity until someone posted a photo from Jubao Pavilion’s ribbon-cutting ceremony, sharp-eyed individuals soon recognized the familiar young woman standing center stage. With some recollection, they realized it was the mysterious Miss Magic, a sensation online!

Previously, Huo Sining caused a great stir in Fuzhou, having cut Gold-threaded Jadeite from one piece of stone and Pigeon’s Blood Ruby from another fake rough stone. This news had already spread widely online.

No one expected that within less than two months since then, this girl had started a store, engaging in a million-dollar red coral, causing online followers to grow restless and make all sorts of sour remarks.

Remarks speculating if Huo Sining had special background, whether the items were legitimately acquired, or if she was another Guo Meimei, were rife. Despite reading such comments, Huo Sining merely laughed them off, unfazed.
