Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 916: Chapter 912 Batch Production

Huo Sining’s words completely stunned the couple in the room. Meanwhile, Nara Nigawa couldn’t help but show a look of admiration in his eyes and discreetly gave Huo Sining a thumbs-up behind his back.

The woman who originally had a sharp attitude turned pale and then red, seemingly wanting to retort, but after her mouth opened and closed several times, she found herself unable to rebut. In the end, she could only glare at Huo Sining and dryly said, ”I can’t be bothered to talk to someone like you.”

This time, she didn’t use any insulting words. The woman turned around and said in Japanese to the shop owner, ”Shop owner, we want this sword. Please wrap it up for us!”

The shop owner had been standing by listening, but since Huo Sining spoke in Huaxia language, the shop owner didn’t understand what they were saying and didn’t care much. Now that the woman said she wanted to buy the sword, the shop owner was overjoyed and immediately nodded, bending down behind the counter to find a box. He carefully placed the katana in the box and solemnly handed it to the woman.

Nara Nigawa, who was standing by, initially wanted to stop the woman, but after the argument just now, he had no time to remind her and could only watch helplessly as the woman bought the sword.

They swiped their card to pay, and the katana was sold for five million yen, which was just 260,000 RMB.

Huo Sining was unaware of the market situation in Dongyang, but such 15th-century katana were scarce. Earlier in the year, at an auction in New York, a katana that was in slightly worse condition than this one sold for a high price of 180,000 US Dollars. Even in Huaxia Country, a 15th-century katana from the Toyota Hideyoshi period would sell for no less than 500,000.

If this sword was genuine, these two people might have gotten a bargain. If they figured out a way to take it back, they could at least double the profit.

The two obviously thought they had found a bargain. After the card transaction, their faces were filled with excitement. As they walked out with the box containing the katana, they brushed past Huo Sining. The woman intentionally moved her shoulder towards Huo Sining’s side, slamming into her shoulder with force, raising her chin proudly and sneering as she mouthed the words ”China pig.”

Originally, Huo Sining didn’t want to argue with the woman anymore, but seeing that, her face turned cold. Almost instantly, she moved her hand subtly, taking something out of her ring. With a flick of her finger, an invisible powder flew toward the woman’s neck, so fast that no one noticed.

After the two left and disappeared into the alley, the shop owner then approached and smiled at Nara Nigawa, saying, ”Nara-kun, how come you have time to visit today?”

The shop owner’s ingratiating expression was quite practiced, but Nara Nigawa showed an extremely cold and even slightly disgusted expression, not hiding his dislike for the shop owner.

This surprised and somewhat puzzled Huo Sining. She previously thought Nara Nigawa didn’t know the shop owner, but now it seemed that wasn’t the case. The shop owner was clearly very courteous to Nara Nigawa, even slightly flattering, not like two strangers.

While she was pondering, the shop owner signaled for them to look around the store freely, then he went into the back room. Shortly after, Huo Sining saw the shop owner bring out another long box, open it, and carefully place another katana on the rack where the previous couple had bought one.

Huo Sining’s expression became peculiar, baffled at the sight of the katana.

Pure silver inlays, luxurious decorations, even the carvings on the sheath and the rust were identical. The shop owner brought out a nearly identical katana.

Huo Sining was dumbfounded. Even without much thought, she knew something was fishy.

Unless Toyota Hideyoshi was the shop owner’s ancestor and left all his katanas as family heirlooms, where did the shop owner collect so many identical katanas from?

Where there’s something unusual, there’s something sinister. Huo Sining immediately understood. The shop owner’s ”real items” were actually replicas made to look very convincing, but they were mass-produced.

Seeing this, Nara Nigawa lowered his voice and said to Huo Sining, ”See, this is why I didn’t want you to come here. I know this shop owner. All the items he sells in this shop are fakes, yet he scams people saying they’re genuine. Who knows how many people have been fooled by him. We locals know the tricks in this shop, so I wanted to take you somewhere else.”

”Don’t be fooled by how real those katanas look. They’re all custom-made. That batch of katanas was brought over from Osaka. They’re all mechanically pressed and then further processed, re-forged, polished, and aged to look exactly real, but they’re all fake.”

Huo Sining nodded. She had a bit of doubt when she first saw the katana. It’s unlikely something five or six hundred years old could be perfectly preserved, but at that time, she didn’t touch it directly, so she couldn’t judge its authenticity. Seeing the shop owner bring out another katana and combining it with Nara Nigawa’s explanation, she immediately understood.

It turns out that not only domestically, but there are also plenty of fake and aged techniques abroad. So, foreign goods aren’t necessarily good?

But Huo Sining had to admit the person who made this batch of katanas must be an expert. Without in-depth research on katanas, one couldn’t make such realistic fake knives.

If Huo Sining didn’t have the Heavenly Eye and Azure Pearl, she might have been fooled too, maybe even buying one to collect for fun.

Thinking about how that young couple happily spent over two hundred thousand to buy a fake katana and went away proudly, Huo Sining couldn’t help but feel amused.

With such mass-produced things, even for two hundred yuan, Huo Sining wouldn’t even consider. It would devalue decorating her home. They thought they got a huge bargain, but who knows what their expressions will be when they realize it’s a fake.

Huo Sining couldn’t help but sigh in her heart, looking at them. Some people are rich and naive, treating money like it’s no issue. Spending hundreds of thousands frivolously and still feeling happy; us country bumpkins just can’t compare.

Huo Sining would never admit that, in her heart, a little figure was jumping with joy, gloating and almost ready to set off a string of firecrackers to celebrate. Although it’s somewhat unethical to have a Dongyang ghost swindle Liuli compatriots’ money, Huo Sining had no intention of hiding her urge to laugh out loud at the sky and the impulse to celebrate.
