Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 918: Chapter 914: The Heavy Sword Has No Edge

Huo Sining pretended not to understand, but the shop owner got anxious and quickly shook his head to explain, ”How could it be forty thousand? These are antiques, they can’t be that cheap. I said four hundred thousand, miss, are you joking?”

Huo Sining immediately feigned surprise, stepping back in mock shock, ”Boss, your price is outrageous. These things are rusty. Even if they are antiques, they’re worthless. I just happen to be writing an experiment report on bronze and iron artifacts and lack materials, so I thought I’d buy these from you as samples. But your price is too high, I’ll just look elsewhere.”

Huo Sining spoke as if it were true. She had used this trick back home, so she executed it smoothly without a single flaw.

After hearing this, the shop owner looked at Huo Sining’s youthful appearance and the backpack she carried, and instantly believed her. Seeing her pull Nara Nigawa to leave, he became anxious.

That box of junk had been sitting in the corner for years without being dealt with. It wasn’t that he was reluctant to part with it, but because no one wanted it—even scrap collectors were picky. With so much bronze and iron rust, the original appearance of the items couldn’t even be discerned, and even the scrap collectors disliked it.

The items had been ignored for so long, and the shop owner had no choice but to consider finding a gullible buyer to sell them to. Now that someone was finally asking about the price, he started pretending again, trying to raise the price and scam a bit.

But Huo Sining wasn’t an idiot. Seeing such an outrageous price, she turned and left. The shop owner saw Huo Sining’s determined attitude and immediately panicked, fearing he would lose the business. He quickly called her back:

”Hey, hey, hey, don’t go. Miss, you’re really quick-tempered. If you really want to buy, we can negotiate the price. What price do you think is appropriate?”

Huo Sining glanced at Nara Nigawa, seemingly wanting to solicit his opinion.

Nara Nigawa had no idea what was going on with Huo Sining. He couldn’t see anything worthwhile in the box; if he really wanted such things, he could find tons at a scrapyard without spending a penny.

But since it was Huo Sining who started this, even though he disagreed, Nara Nigawa couldn’t speak up to stop it. Otherwise, he would truly make enemies with the shop owner. Even if he looked down on the shop owner, he still had to follow the unwritten rules of the circle.

Seeing Nara Nigawa remain silent, Huo Sining hesitated, pretended to think for a while, and then spoke under the shop owner’s expectant gaze:

”Boss, I’m just a student studying here. My family background is average, and I don’t have much money. I can only offer a maximum of one hundred thousand. If you think the price is reasonable, then we deal. If not, I won’t argue further; I’ll just look elsewhere. I can always find the right one.”

When the shop owner heard this price, he was overjoyed inside—a pile of worthless stuff could still sell for a hundred thousand. He was about to reap a huge profit, but no matter how happy he was, he still had to act difficult on the surface, pretending to be reluctant. After a long moment of consideration, he finally gritted his teeth and nodded, ”Fine, for Mr. Nara’s sake, I’ll sell this box of stuff to you for one hundred thousand.”

Huo Sining smiled, under the shop owner’s expectant gaze, she took out a hundred thousand Dongyang Currency from her bag and handed it over.

Transaction completed, Huo Sining hugged that box of stuff and walked out, clutching the box tightly, so excited she almost couldn’t breathe.

A hundred thousand yen, equivalent to more than five thousand RMB. This shop owner thought he got a great deal. If he knew what treasures were hidden in that box he sold, he’d surely vomit three liters of blood and die of rage on the spot.

Even after leaving the Samurai Sword Shop, Nara Nigawa looked bewildered and confused. After walking a few steps, he couldn’t hold it in anymore and turned to Huo Sining:

”Huo-kun, I don’t understand. Why did you buy this box of scrap iron? Such things are countless at junkyards. If you really want to write an experiment report, I could take you to the junkyard and you could pick up a whole heap for free.”

A hundred thousand Dongyang Currency is about a month’s living expenses for a typical student abroad. Although Huo Sining had money, Nara Nigawa didn’t want her to spend this money in vain, especially when that despicable Samurai Sword Shop owner was the one who profited from her.

Seeing Nara Nigawa’s expression of annoyance and frustration, Huo Sining found it amusing. In front of Nara Nigawa, of course, she wouldn’t explain the reason, merely brushed it off with a few words and changed the topic.

Though it only took half a day, this half-day tour of Dongdu was quite rewarding for Huo Sining. She saw beautiful scenery, learned about some customs of Dongdu, acquired an unknown ancient sword, and even met Nara Nigawa, this local native.

Even though she had known Nara Nigawa for only a few hours, Huo Sining could tell that Mr. Nara is a pretty good guide; he speaks Chinese, is a local, and is simple and sincere. Huo Sining had already started to quietly set her mind on using Nara Nigawa.

Since she’d come to this island country, she had no intention of leaving empty-handed. She remembered well the times when the Dongyang people invaded Huaxia, plundering so many things from Huaxia Country. If she doesn’t get back at them, she won’t feel content.

If Nara Nigawa knew he’d tangled with a troublemaker like her, he’d definitely choose to stay far away. But he didn’t know. Since he had half Huaxia blood in his veins, Nara Nigawa also had a strong fondness for Huaxia. Although he couldn’t call it his motherland, there was still an emotional connection.

Earlier, when Huo Sining rebuked that couple in Liuli, her words were firm yet graceful, showcasing the demeanor of a great nation, leaving Nara Nigawa both shocked and deeply admiring the strong patriotic fervor undoubtedly within this seemingly delicate young lady.

It was because of those words that Nara Nigawa had already decided to befriend this young girl. The things she did and said seemed not to match her age. Perhaps this is what Huaxia people call maturity beyond one’s years? Whatever it is, Nara Nigawa was certain of one thing: forming a cross-generational friendship with this young lady should be quite an interesting affair.

Nara Nigawa was full of joy, happy to have made a new friend from Huaxia Country, yet he didn’t know that this friend he decided on was calculating how to seize more opportunities and transport all Huaxia antiques back from Dongyang Country.
