Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 907: Chapter 903 Sprite

The new shop’s opening momentum is good. With the Red Coral creating a buzz, it indeed made a splash right away. Although most people came for the Blood Coral, once they entered the shop and saw the Blood Coral, they couldn’t help but inquire about the other good items in the store.

Antique shops are not like jewelry stores. In the field of antique collecting, they generally rely on returning customers. When the shop has a lot of things and good quality, naturally, returning customers will increase.

Furthermore, these shops often don’t open for three years, and when they do, they can eat for three years. Ordinary trinkets and crafts won’t bring in money, but if a significant piece comes in, it can earn tens or even hundreds of thousands instantly. So even if business is slow, there’s no need to rush.

With the shop’s opening settled, the day for Huo Sining’s trip to Dongyang had arrived.

Back in S City, she calmly began packing her luggage. She had quite a lot of luggage, preparing tons of items for food, clothing, accommodation, and transportation, all neatly packed in boxes and thrown into the storage ring. In the end, she only had a small suitcase with two sets of clothes for appearance’s sake.

Although she previously fell out with a few Dongyang people like Hattori Masano, Watanabe Yasu, and Hattori Keiko for various reasons, her attitude towards the Island Country wasn’t exactly hostile. Despite this nation’s people’s reluctance to confront the crimes they committed, Huo Sining had to admit that the country’s citizens were indeed of good quality.

Huo Sining didn’t like their historical attitude but had heard of their daily etiquette and citizen quality, so this time, she’s going with a mindset to experience and learn from Dongyang culture.

However, before the official departure, the research institute suddenly called Huo Sining, assigning her a more important task for this international exchange. That task was to present the Huaxia Koi research project and results so as not to embarrass Huaxia Country on Dongyang’s turf.

Huo Sining couldn’t help but sigh internally. The institute’s words were so tactful and euphemistic, but essentially, it was about creating an impact. Dongyang’s people are most proud of their national fish culture, and now she was asked to challenge their authority, which is basically creating an impact.

Huo Sining thought this task was a bit difficult, but when the school leaders pressured her with authority, she had to comply. Fortunately, even though this was an international student exchange program, several teachers would accompany the trip. Among these teachers were two professors responsible for the Huaxia Koi project from the institute, so although the task was heavy, the burden wasn’t entirely on her.

With everything ready, that morning, Huo Sining headed out with her suitcase to meet at the school gate, and as soon as she stepped out, she encountered Huang Hongying and Su Qingqing, who came to see her off.

Su Qingqing was holding a German Shepherd named Sprite, just under four months old and already half Su Qingqing’s size. Upon seeing Huo Sining, it immediately ran up in a fawning manner, trying to get close to her, even sticking its tongue out to lick Huo Sining’s palm with a face full of anticipation and joy.

Seeing Sprite so enthusiastic about Huo Sining, Su Qingqing was somewhat jealous, saying, ”What an ungrateful fellow; look at how I serve it every day, and it never shows such affection towards me. So frustrating.”

Huo Sining chuckled silently, knowing the real reason clearly: the dog wasn’t being affectionate; it just wanted her to give it more spiritual energy.

That’s right, the German Shepherd puppy named Sprite was picked up by Huo Sining from a pile of trash at a dog market when she went to a country fair in July.

Back then, the dog had distemper, with sores all over its body and flies and mosquitoes biting it. The German Shepherd vendor was afraid it would infect other puppies, so he tossed it in the trash pit, bundled in a burlap sack.

The dog struggled weakly within the sack. Huo Sining couldn’t bear it, so she rescued the puppy, using spiritual energy to save it several times, finally bringing it back to life.

Since Su Qingqing always wanted to keep a dog after having Heitan, Huo Sining thought of giving the puppy to Su Qingqing. But because the German Shepherd wasn’t purebred, Huo Sining raised it for more than half a month, using a lot of spiritual energy to thoroughly cleanse its mixed bloodline before giving it away.

As a result, the little pup became sharp in those two weeks, got addicted to the Spirit of Azure Pearl, and had a taste of it. Whenever it saw Huo Sining, it would cling to her, wagging its tail and acting coy, trying to get another taste of the spiritual energy, which made Huo Sining feel both amused and helpless.

Despite Su Qingqing’s sarcastic comments, she still had a soft spot for the little guy. Because Su Zhenhua is allergic to animal fur, dogs weren’t allowed in the Su Family. Su Qingqing, now in her twenties, had never fulfilled this wish, so once she met Sprite, she was captivated at once.

But since dogs couldn’t be kept in the Su Residence, Su Qingqing had to settle for leaving it in the villas or sometimes at Wu Jun’s place. Over time, Sprite also became close to Wu Jun and Wu Ya but still loved Huo Sining the most. Even though Huo Sining wasn’t home often and didn’t see Sprite much, it acted extremely attached, pouncing on her whenever it saw her figure.

German Shepherds might seem gentle, but they are quite fierce. Sprite’s affection for Huo Sining displeased Heitan greatly. Several times, this Tibetan Mastiff King sat in the yard, exuding a kingly aura, wanting to intimidate Sprite away from Huo Sining.

Ironically, this intimidating gesture that had never failed before didn’t work on Sprite.

No matter how Heitan growled and bristled, Sprite seemed impervious, solely focused on tugging at Huo Sining’s pants like a cub with its mother, which frustrated Heitan to no end.

Seeing Sprite, Huo Sining couldn’t help but think of Heitan. Since she’d be going to Dongyang and unable to care for it for three months, she had to leave Heitan domestically.

However, since Heitan was so well-liked, its guardianship was claimed by Huang Chengyi early on when Huo Sining received the exchange student notification. The elder, having lived in the villa area for half a year, had formed an attachment to Heitan. Knowing Huo Sining had nowhere to settle the big guy, he eagerly took Heitan to the Imperial Capital.
