Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 600: Chapter 598: Sell it to Anyone but Him

Unfortunately, Zhao Yuliang wasn’t worried about not finding a buyer for the cup. Seeing the thick scheming flash in the auntie’s eyes, how could he not understand?

He feared that his uncle and auntie had already reached some kind of agreement with Mr. He. Once the cup was sold to Mr. He, they would also reap some benefits, which was why they were performing so zealously.

Seeing through the motives and calculations of these people, a thick scorn flashed in Zhao Yuliang’s eyes.

He couldn’t help but sneer, ”Uncle, auntie, I respect you as my elders, which is why I have been indulgent. But my tolerance doesn’t mean I can be easily bullied. I don’t care what agreement you’ve made with Mr. He, but today I can tell you very clearly, I can sell the cup to anyone, just not to him!”

As soon as these words came out, not only Mr. He but also Zhao’s uncle and auntie’s faces changed dramatically.

Just at this moment, Huo Sining’s phone suddenly rang. It was Yin Zeyan.

”Huo junior, my car has arrived, but it can’t enter the alley. Could you tell me where you are?”

Huo Sining didn’t expect Yin Zeyan to really arrive so quickly, but now wasn’t the time to think about that.

Huo Sining felt that the priority was to quickly transfer the jade cup. Zhao Yuliang’s uncle and auntie clearly were not to be trifled with. If the confrontation continued, it might lead to other problems.

”How about this, you find a nearby teahouse. I remember when I came in, there was a Tingyu Pavilion Teahouse. Just find a private room there and sit down, we’ll come right over.”

That teahouse was not far from the alley. Huo Sining had noticed it before entering and had some impression of it, aware it was easy to locate.

As expected, Yin Zeyan surveyed his surroundings and quickly pinpointed the location of the teahouse. He nodded and, without another word, agreed.

On this side, Zhao Yuliang also heard Huo Sining’s words. He didn’t care about the expressions on his uncle and auntie’s faces. He picked up the box containing the jade cup, stuffed it into his bag, and pulled Huo Sining along with Su Qingqing toward the door.

Seeing the situation unfold beyond his expectations, Mr. He’s face changed at once, and he hastily grabbed Zhao Yuliang’s arm, ”Eight hundred thousand, what about eight hundred thousand? Let’s do the transfer directly!”

Even at this point, Mr. He still wanted to lower the price.

Hearing that eight hundred thousand, Huo Sining felt both disdainful and speechless. What an absurd person.

A glint of satisfaction flashed in Zhao Yuliang’s eyes as he coldly said to Mr. He,

”Mr. He, did you not understand what I just said? I said I will sell to anyone but you! Don’t talk about eight hundred thousand; even if you offer one million or even two million, I will not change what I have just said. I am a person who strictly adheres to principles. What I say is what I mean, and I never go back on my word!”

Having said that, he expressionlessly pulled his arm away and quickly left.

Watching Zhao Yuliang pull Huo Sining further away, Mr. He’s eyes revealed desperate and deep-seated resentment, and his entire face became ferocious.

Seeing his expression, Huo Sining shook her head, unable to help herself. Such a person was not worthy of sympathy at all. If he had not thought himself so clever, he would not have ended up proverbially lifting a rock only to drop it on his own foot.

Yet, seeing that person’s expression, Huo Sining was somewhat worried. She was not afraid of genuine villains, but hypocrites had to be guarded against. If this Mr. He truly harbored any ill intentions, it could lead to more loss than gain. It seemed she needed to warn Zhao Yuliang to be careful of him.

Yin Zeyan was indeed waiting at Tingyu Pavilion Teahouse as promised, and though Lao Lu the Shopkeeper was not present, there was an elderly appraiser in his fifties with them.

After Yin Zeyan introduced the identity of the elderly appraiser, Zhao Yuliang’s originally apprehensive heart completely relaxed, his eyes showing an utmost trusting air.

Seeing Zhao Yuliang’s reaction, Huo Sining couldn’t help but reveal a wry smile.

No matter how unparalleled her appraisal skills were, her young age stood in the way; no wonder Zhao Yuliang didn’t trust her.

After a meticulous appraisal, excitement couldn’t help but emerge in the elder appraiser’s eyes:

”Miss Huo, I am certain that this pair of jade cups should be from the mid-Tang Dynasty, and should only be considered as jade cups, my preliminary estimation would be around five million. However, I am not certain if there is any other provenance to these cups.”

”Other provenance? What do you mean?” Zhao Yuliang was a layman, so he didn’t fully grasp the appraiser’s meaning.

Su Qingqing smiled and explained, ”The value of antiques is mainly given by their history. Apart from the factor of time, research value is also very important. If these jade cups are simply Tang Dynasty antiques, the price fluctuation wouldn’t be great. But if these cups have other historical facts supporting them, their research value would greatly increase, and the price would be incomparable to its original estimation.”

In the antique circle, the intrinsic value of many antiques isn’t high. To raise the prices of these items, many people choose to hype them up, endowing antiques with a historical fact or a legendary story. By word of mouth, the value of the antiques can be quickly enhanced.

Su Qingqing’s explanation was so straightforward that even Zhao Yuliang, a layperson, could understand the gist of it. However, Zhao Yuliang was a straightforward man. Scratching the back of his head, he chuckled:

”These are just a pair of cups passed down from my ancestors. Their background is unclear to me and my mother; I guess even my grandfather was confused about it.”

Yin Zeyan smiled and said, ”That’s not a problem. If you feel it’s necessary, we can hire someone to help you publicize them.”

Zhao Yuliang shook his head and said, ”No need for that. If Miss Huo had not told me that these cups were from the Tang Dynasty, I might have sold them for just a million. Since I’ve already promised Miss Huo to sell them to her for five million, I won’t go back on my word.”

At this point, Zhao Yuliang paused, his gaze turning toward Huo Sining: ”Miss Huo, if you still want to buy the cups, I have no objections. As long as you agree, we can carry out the transaction now. If you think it’s necessary, I can also take the contract for my mother to sign.”

Upon hearing Zhao Yuliang’s words, not only Su Qingqing and the appraiser, but even Yin Zeyan lifted his head in surprise.

They had not expected that Zhao Yuliang, though appearing young, had such resolve in this matter.

For someone in dire straits and desperately in need of money, it was rare to find someone who could adhere to their principles and forgo the easy profit that was within their grasp. People of such character were truly worth associating with, even entrusting one’s heart to.

In this moment, Huo Sining suddenly thought of the first time she met Wu Jun; Zhao Yuliang’s character seemed quite similar to Wu’s.
