Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 551: Chapter 548: Mouth Too Stinky!

Because she caught sight of an exceptional Blood Beauty, Huo Sining became somewhat distracted, and after she finished inspecting the rough jade that belonged to Jiang Sibo, she seemed careless when looking at the other rough stones.

Just at that moment, a portly middle-aged man walked by her side. Huo Sining, not paying attention for a moment, actually bumped forcefully into the man.

”Don’t you have eyes, woman?!”

The man was not gentle with his hands, and the instant Huo Sining bumped into him, he waved his hand forcefully. Huo Sining did not stand steady and stumbled backward several steps before falling onto a piece of gambling stone behind her, her ankle throbbing with pain, which made her involuntarily let out a light cry of ”ah”.

”Miss Huo, be careful!” Wu Jun was the first to react, sprinting to Huo Sining’s side. Upon hearing Huo Sining cry out in pain, he bent down to look and immediately felt anger surge.

Huo Sining was already frail, and the man’s push was strong. With that shove, Huo Sining ended up being pushed onto this piece of rough stone.

It just so happened that one end of the rough jade was a sharp protrusion. When Huo Sining stepped back, her right ankle hit right upon it, instantly tearing the flesh, scraped off by the rough stone’s sharp edge, and blood began to stream down.

Seeing this, Wu Jun quickly took an ointment from his backpack and directly applied it on Huo Sining’s ankle wound. The wound visibly began to scab at a speed observable to the naked eye, and there was no sign of blood flowing out anymore.

Having done this, Wu Jun was about to turn around and confront the man, but just then Huo Sining abruptly stopped him. She frowned and shook her head, saying, ”Forget it, it was my fault for bumping into him after all. Let’s continue looking at the rough stones.”

Huo Sining knew Wu Jun was impulsive and hot-headed; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been tried in a military court for taking down a few drug lords. Provoking him might really lead to him beating the middle-aged man half to death. Huo Sining did not want any unnecessary complications, so she held Wu Jun back, not wanting him to make a big deal out of it.

Unfortunately, Huo Sining wanted to pacify the situation, but the middle-aged man was relentless.

”So bumping into me is settled just like that? Shouldn’t you at least apologize to me?”

The middle-aged man said this and even sized up Huo Sining with a lewd gaze:

”Young lady, I suggest you watch your step when walking. This is a gambling stone market, not a night club or bar. Don’t just lean into any man’s arms. With your flat chest and thin figure, even if you were given to me for free, I wouldn’t want you!”

Seeing Huo Sining not pursuing the matter, the middle-aged man took it as her being scared, and became even more brazen. His words were vulgar and extremely rude.

Hearing this, Huo Sining became instantly annoyed. She looked coldly at the middle-aged man, ”Sir, please show some respect! Not every woman is someone you can afford to offend!”

The middle-aged man’s bloated face showed displeasure as he glanced at Huo Sining and said dismissively:

”Miss, first of all, you should learn some manners. Don’t speak so aggressively, or you’ll end up crying. For today’s incident, since you’re a young lady, if you apologize, I won’t pursue the matter further!”

”Sir, while I may have accidentally bumped into you, you also pushed me. Why don’t you apologize to me instead, yet it becomes solely my fault?”

Miss Huo Sining felt a rush of anger within her heart. She had been pushed down and injured, yet it was somehow expected that she should apologize to the person who pushed her; she truly couldn’t grasp such reasoning in the world!

Thinking this, a chilling glint appeared in Miss Huo Sining’s eyes. She slightly lifted her wrist and—seizing an opportunity when the man was off guard—she took a tiny porcelain bottle out from her space.

In no time, a bit of powder flew onto the man’s face.

The middle-aged man did not notice anything unusual about the dust particles in the air, assuming it was merely some debris that had flown over from the hidden bids of rough stones, and therefore paid it no mind. Instead, he looked at Miss Huo Sining with a mocking expression:

”Such a simple act as an apology and you’re unwilling to give it. What, do you really want me to take advantage of you? Young lady, don’t scorn the face given to you. Trying to attract attention in such a manner, don’t you think this trick is too clumsy? If you want to hook up with men at Ruili gambling tables, you need to practice more!”

The wrath in Miss Huo Sining’s heart could no longer be restrained. Looking at the middle-aged man, she sneered, ”Wu Jun, take action! This man’s mouth is too foul, those eyes too dirty!”

The middle-aged man wanted to speak, but at that moment someone hurried over from not too far away. Upon seeing Miss Huo Sining, their face broke into a wide smile:

”Miss Huo, our president wants to invite you over. The Gambling King and Elder Qin from the Imperial Capital are waiting for you.”

The previously arrogant and contemptuous middle-aged man’s face changed dramatically upon hearing the words of the staff member, who was clearly from the Ruili gambling facilities. His eyes filled with shock and uncertainty as he looked at Miss Huo Sining:

”You...You’re Miss Huo? The one who recently cut the Emerald Heavenly Bead at the gambling stone square?”

The staff member, having worked at the reception for many years and being quite savvy, immediately understood most of what had happened upon seeing the middle-aged man’s pale face and recalling the tense and chilly atmosphere from just before. Realizing this man had inadvertently offended the goddess, he quickly spoke up to mediate:

”You must be Mr. Deng from Guangcheng, right? You really weren’t wrong, this is Miss Huo. Miss Huo’s fame is now nearly rivaling that of Elder Mr. Liu, the Gambling King. Many people are very optimistic about Miss Huo, feeling that she has the potential to become the next Gambling King.”

Upon hearing this, the middle-aged man’s heart panicked. Thinking of how he just had mindlessly provoked this great figure, he immediately regretted it and changed his attitude faster than flipping a page:

”Oh my, so it’s Miss Huo. My apologies, I failed to recognize you due to my insufficient eyesight and was too direct in my speech. I hope you won’t take it to heart. How about I take you out for a meal later, as a way of offering an apology? You choose the place, what do you say?”

Miss Huo Sining had no intention of wasting her words on such individuals. She gave the man a cold glance and said indifferently:

”There’s no need for a meal, I fear later people will say I’m not picky about who I dine with, accepting any man that comes along! I hope in the future when you speak, you can show women some respect. As I said before, there are some women you simply cannot afford to provoke!”

The middle-aged man’s face stiffened, and as he remembered how he had previously accused Miss Huo Sining of throwing herself into his arms and saying that he wouldn’t want her even if she was given to him for free, his face turned beet red with the desire to bite off his own tongue.

Miss Huo Sining had no desire to entangle herself any further with this man. She quietly directed the Spirit of Azure Pearl to her ankle, letting her wound heal rapidly.

She slowly supported herself up against the rough stone she had been leaning on and was about to leave with the staff member when she witnessed a scene that utterly astonished her.
