Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 598: Chapter 596: Seek Help

Seeing Mr. Zhao Yuliang had made up his mind, Huo Sining didn’t think it appropriate to persuade him further.

”Well then, I am very interested in your pair of jade cups, Mr. Zhao. If you truly wish to sell them, I am willing to pay five million to acquire them,” Huo Sining said to Zhao Yuliang with a smile.

Zhao Yuliang was immediately stunned upon hearing this. It wasn’t surprising that he was stunned; the girl in front of him, though dressed elegantly and resembling the child of a wealthy family, was after all quite young. Zhao Yuliang guessed that Huo Sining must be under twenty years old.

How much money could a girl under twenty possibly have? Even if Huo Sining’s family was wealthy, it was unlikely she could freely spend more than one or two million, so Zhao Yuliang had never imagined that Huo Sining would offer to buy his jade cups outright.

”Miss Huo, are you sure?”

Now it was Zhao Yuliang who was shocked. He looked at Huo Sining incredulously and asked for confirmation repeatedly.

Huo Sining gave Su Qingqing a helpless smile.

Su Qingqing knew Huo Sining was interested in the two jade cups and thought for a moment before saying to Huo Sining, ”Ningning, why don’t you let my brother handle this? His company has legal advisers who could draft a contract.”

Previously, Huo Sining had appraised the origin and value of these jade cups for Mr. Zhao. Now, Huo Sining was saying she wanted to buy the jade cups.

Huo Sining’s actions were not in line with the usual appraisal procedures and could easily be perceived by the client as her intentionally undervaluing the items.

Of course, Zhao Yuliang didn’t see it that way. He was well aware that if Huo Sining hadn’t been so fair-minded today, she could have easily purchased those jade cups at the price of a Song Dynasty artifact.

However, Huo Sining hadn’t done so, instead informing him that the jade cups were actually Tang Dynasty artifacts.

Moreover, when he had suggested a price of four million for Huo Sining to find someone who dealt in antiques to buy them, Huo Sining didn’t just take the opportunity but was willing to offer five million to acquire them herself.

The various actions of Huo Sining had conveyed her goodwill to Zhao Yuliang, so he did not suspect Huo Sining of any deliberately deceptive conduct.

Nevertheless, upon hearing Su Qingqing’s suggestion to draft a contract, Zhao Yuliang didn’t refuse. He wasn’t versed in the customs of the antiques circle, but being a student of the law, he felt that for such a large transaction, it was necessary to sign a contract to feel at ease.

Huo Sining also understood Su Qingqing’s intentions; drafting a contract would not only avoid impropriety on Huo Sining’s part, but also due to the origin of the jade cups.

If the jade cups were indeed handed down from Mr. Zhao’s grandfather as he claimed, selling them should involve a sales contract signed by both Zhao Yuliang and his mother, which would likely be more appropriate.

There have been instances within the antiques circle where, despite payment being made and the deal being seemingly concluded, the lack of a signed purchase agreement allowed one party to later change their mind, fabricating facts to incriminate the other party.

Although Huo Sining thought Zhao Yuliang to be trustworthy, she wasn’t familiar with his mother’s character, and to prevent such a scenario from occurring, for safety’s sake, Huo Sining felt that drafting a contract was the better option.

Thinking this, Huo Sining immediately took out her phone to call Su Jinyuan. Based on her understanding of Su Jinyuan, there should be plenty of people in the legal department of his company; just getting someone to print out two copies of a sales contract would suffice and not be too troublesome.

However, when Huo Sining tried calling, she found that Su Jinyuan’s phone was switched off, and no one was answering the office phone either.

”Oh my, I forgot, my brother might be on a business trip,” Su Qingqing recalled. Su Jinyuan was currently in France attending a fashion and jewelry exhibition and wasn’t in the country.

Huo Sining was at a loss for words, scrolled through her phone, and realized there weren’t many people she could call at this time.

Her fingers slid down the screen, and suddenly, she found a name in her contacts list.

Yin Zeyan?

”Have you been in touch with your Senior Brother Yin recently?” Huo Sining looked up and asked Su Qingqing.

Su Qingqing was startled, then her eyes lit up, and she smacked her forehead, ”That’s right, we can ask my Senior Brother! My brother is a layman in antiques, but Senior Brother is way more professional than him! He should be at Yin Yizhai; I even spoke to him on the phone yesterday. You can ask him to come over!”

Huo Sining nodded and called Yin Zeyan. After a few rings, the phone was answered, and Yin Zeyan’s somewhat surprised voice came through.

”Miss Huo?”

”Senior Brother Yin, I need a favor and was wondering if you have some time now?”

Huo Sining didn’t exchange pleasantries with Yin Zeyan but got straight to the point, explaining the purpose of her call.

Although she had Yin Zeyan’s phone number saved, she hadn’t actually contacted him before. First, there was no intersection between their circles and secondly, she was not acquainted with Yin Zeyan.

A person who never contacts you suddenly calling usually implies an agenda, so Huo Sining skipped the pleasantries and went straight to the point.

Although Yin Zeyan was surprised by Huo Sining’s sudden call, he didn’t get angry. At least he raised his eyebrows slightly and said with a smile, ”Go ahead.”

”It’s like this: I plan to buy a pair of jade cups from a friend, which are preliminarily appraised as Tang Dynasty artifacts. I’ll probably also need to draft a contract. But I’m not very good at contracts, so I was wondering, do you know anyone who is familiar with this area?”

Yin Zeyan was slightly taken aback, and after a second he replied, ”If those jade cups are treasures, are you sure about them?”

Pausing, Yin Zeyan then added, ”Where are you? I’ll bring someone over to appraise them again. If the items are authentic, there’s no harm in acquiring them later. The buying and selling contract is simple; our shop has a standard contract document drawn up by professional legal advisors. I’ll bring it over to you.”

Huo Sining expressed her thanks and gave Zhao Yuliang’s address to Yin Zeyan, who quickly replied, saying he would arrive within half an hour.

Huo Sining was still in a daze when the call had already been urgently hung up. Just before the call ended, Huo Sining faintly heard the sound of an engine starting on the other end of the line.

”How did it go?” Seeing that Huo Sining had hung up the phone, Su Qingqing quickly asked.

”It’s all arranged. We’ll wait here. Your Senior Brother said he is bringing an appraiser and should be here in about half an hour.”

Huo Sining snapped back to reality, her expression unchanged, but she was puzzled in her heart.

She had only made a phone call, and had envisaged the possibilities of Yin Zeyan either arranging someone to perfunctorily deal with her or outright refusing on grounds of being too busy. She did not anticipate that Yin Zeyan would personally come to assist her so promptly, and with an appraiser in tow, which took Huo Sining by surprise.
