Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 562: Chapter 559: Truly Mad or Pretending?

”No way!”

Huo Sining immediately shook her head in rejection of the suggestion. She had glanced at a few pieces in the sealed bid area that morning and spotted several pieces of superior jadeite. Now that they wanted her to go back, how could she bear to leave behind the ink-green jadeite and Blood Beauty?

The ink-green jadeite and Blood Beauty were no less prestigious than the Blue Elf, which Hu Zexin had sold to Qin Lianshan. However, the other two pieces of high-quality raw material had not yet been marked down by anyone, and Huo Sining was determined to win them.

Moreover, Huo Sining had also promised the experts from the Forbidden City Museum that she would accompany them to Tengchong to participate in the Tengchong Black Market the day after tomorrow. She simply couldn’t get away.

As she was pondering a solution, someone immediately delivered a proverbial pillow to a sleepy person.

”Sister Huo, why don’t you guys stay at my house? We have plenty of empty rooms, enough for all of you. I’ve just spoken with my grandmother, and she’s currently tidying up the guest rooms. I’ll come to pick you up in a while!”

Jiang Xiaoqin’s call was like timely rain, instantly resolving Huo Sining’s predicament.

Huo Sining called Su Jinyuan to explain the situation. Then, she, Su Qingqing, and Bai Yishan disguised themselves, while Wu Jun quickly went downstairs to sneakily cancel the rooms they had booked. They sneaked out to the suite where Ouyang Jun and Captain Qin Tian were staying.

Ouyang Jun had anticipated that today’s events would become known to the media, but he did not expect it to happen so swiftly. Seeing Huo Sining and the others dressed in odd clothing, looking like punks, he couldn’t help but break into a grin.

Jiang Xiaoqin was even more exaggerated. When she ran upstairs and saw the group, she paused, and the first thing she said was, ”Where’s Sister Huo?”

Clearly, Huo Sining’s disguise was a success, as even Jiang Xiaoqin couldn’t recognize her.

The group split up to take action. Huo Sining and Jiang Xiaoqin pretended to be sisters; Wu Jun and Su Qingqing posed as a couple, while Bai Yishan acted alone. The five of them took the chance while the reporters on stakeout were unprepared and sneaked out of the hotel. Once they hit the main street where the hotel was located, they burst into a mad dash in their car.

”Haha, I’ve always found it amusing to see celebrities evading paparazzi on TV, never thought I’d get to experience it myself. It’s truly thrilling!”

As soon as Su Qingqing got into the car, she couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

Huo Sining shook her head helplessly. Su Qingqing had reduced her nice clothes to tatters, leaving her jeans full of holes, and her hair a mess like an exploded cushion; This really was a blow to her image!

”By the way, Xiaoqin, how is your grandfather doing?”

Huo Sining suddenly remembered Uncle Jiang Qi, Jiang Xiaoqin’s grandfather. Since Huo Sining had extracted the imperial green from a giant washboard in the Jiang Family home, Uncle Jiang Qi seemed to have been so shocked by the jadeite that he fainted on the spot.

Upon seeing this, Huo Sining hurriedly pinched his acupuncture point and also infused him with the Spiritual Energy of the Azure Pearl.

After Huo Sining and the others left the Jiang Family home, they hadn’t heard Jiang Xiaoqin mention Uncle Jiang Qi’s condition. Now that they were going to stay at the Jiang Family home, Huo Sining took the opportunity to ask.

”Grandfather is still the same old man,” replied Jiang Xiaoqin with some disappointment. She had thought that the shock from the imperial green would have cured her grandfather’s mental illness, but it turned out he was still the same.

Huo Sining was also somewhat surprised. She clearly remembered that shortly after she poured the Spiritual Energy of the Azure Pearl into Uncle Jiang Qi’s body, he had slowly awakened. At that moment, Uncle Jiang Qi’s abnormal reaction upon seeing the imperial green, the radiance in his eyes, was definitely not something a mentally unclear person would exhibit. Could she have been mistaken?

Once everyone had settled down at Jiang Xiaoqin’s home, Huo Sining finally breathed a sigh of relief.

”Xiao Qin, is your grandfather home?” Huo Sining couldn’t help but ask.

Jiang Xiaoqin nodded, ”He is, he hasn’t gone out at all these past two days.”

Huo Sining smiled and asked, ”Then where is he? Can you take me to see him?”

Though Jiang Xiaoqin felt somewhat puzzled, she did not refuse and led Huo Sining to the living room.

Upon entering the living room, they saw that the television was playing ”Investiture of the Gods” and Uncle Jiang Qi was sitting on the sofa, not watching TV but dozing off instead.

Jiang Xiaoqin was somewhat helpless and was just about to wake Uncle Jiang Qi, but she was stopped by Huo Sining, who sat next to Uncle Jiang Qi and stretched out her hand to his wrist, wanting to use her Heavenly Eye to check on the old man.

Unexpectedly, just as her hand extended over, it was grasped tightly by a withered hand.

Huo Sining was immediately startled and upon looking up, she saw Uncle Jiang Qi’s eyes fixed firmly on her, deep and obscure, seemingly filled with pain, regret, inquiry, and doubt, a mix of emotions too complex to discern.

Seeing her grandfather suddenly gripping Huo Sining’s arm, Jiang Xiaoqin became alarmed, but knowing her grandfather could act out, she hurriedly shouted, ”Grandpa, what are you doing? Let go quickly, this is Sister Huo, she’s a guest at our house!”

”Who are you?” It was only after a long while that Uncle Jiang Qi finally spoke.

Hearing Uncle Jiang Qi say this, Huo Sining’s heart skipped a beat. Uncle Jiang Qi’s gaze, actions, and even his facial expressions were completely different than those of the Uncle Jiang Qi she had met earlier in the Jiang Jikai Jiang Sibo store. This was definitely not how a mentally unclear lunatic should behave!

Could it be that Uncle Jiang Qi had regained consciousness?

”Uncle Qi, my name is Huo Sining. I bought raw stones from you before, and even unveiled a piece of imperial green, have you forgotten?” Huo Sining tentatively asked.

Uncle Jiang Qi seemed to be struggling to recall something, staring at Huo Sining again and again, his eyes dark and profound, making Huo Sining feel quite uneasy, before he suddenly sighed lowly and said,

”You’re not her... so much alike, just like that woman... but you’re not...”

With that, Uncle Jiang Qi released Huo Sining’s arm, and driven by curiosity, Huo Sining couldn’t help but inquire, ”Uncle Qi, she... who is she?”

A look of confusion flashed in Uncle Jiang Qi’s eyes, before he suddenly reverted to his state of incoherence, chuckling, and said, ”The price has risen, the raw material prices went up, need to buy clothes for Qin’er... ”

Hearing these words, Jiang Xiaoqin said peevishly, ”Buying clothes, buying clothes, when have you ever bought them for me? With the weather being so inconsistent, you should either sit here and properly watch TV or go back to your room and sleep. Sitting here dozing off, what if you catch a cold?”

As she spoke, Jiang Xiaoqin pulled a blanket from the side and placed it over Uncle Jiang Qi’s knees.

Huo Sining felt both baffled and doubtful. She couldn’t figure out whether Uncle Jiang Qi was truly mad or not. He was having a completely normal conversation with her just a moment ago, so why did he suddenly become incoherent again? What on earth was going on?

Even as Jiang Xiaoqin pulled her away, Huo Sining kept looking back every few steps, her expression weird as she watched Uncle Jiang Qi, deep in thought.
