Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 572: Chapter 570 Agreement of Selling Oneself

Qin Lianshan had now thoroughly butted heads with Watanabe Yasu. To have this little Japanese come to their doorsteps to play the big shot, not showing him some color to see would truly make him think they, the people of Huaxia, are easy to bully!

People of Qin Lianshan’s age probably all lived through that significant event, which is why their anti-Japanese sentiment is far stronger than that of the younger generation.

In Qin Lianshan’s heart, while the Western brigands were certainly detestable, they were nowhere near as angering as the Imperial Army of Dongyang.

Huo Sining understood Qin Lianshan’s thoughts very well. The people of Huaxia cannot lose their spirit, especially at a moment like this, where they cannot give these Dongyang people any reason to scoff.

Huo Sining gave Qin Lianshan a reassuring look, then she stood up, giving Zhou Zhen a glance that seemed to be both smiling and not.

This look made Zhou Zhen’s heart instantly chill by half. The coldness in the depths of Huo Sining’s eyes inexplicably instilled a trace of fear in him.

However, as soon as Huo Sining’s gaze shifted, his strange feeling immediately disappeared, and Zhou Zhen thought it was just his imagination.

”That gentleman from Dongyang, now on the floor, it’s just you and me bidding. I’m a straightforward person and can’t be bothered to quibble with you over tens of millions. My bottom line is five hundred million. If you can offer more than that, then the Jade Clothing is yours. I’m willing to give it up!”

Huo Sining pulled out a bank card from her bag, looking at Watanabe Yasu as if provocatively and yet indifferently.

The moment Huo Sining spoke those words, everyone was stunned.

Everybody knew this woman with the surname Huo seemed to be very rich, but no one had expected that she would casually shell out five billion yuan. It was like a tale from a fairyland, who would keep such a huge sum of money idle in the bank?

When Watanabe Yasu heard Huo Sining’s words, his face immediately turned beet red. Five billion, was this woman out of her mind?! The most he could produce was three billion, and that was after juggling the group’s corporate funds and his own personal savings.

Now hearing the price of five billion, even if Watanabe Yasu was given ten times the courage, he would not dare to bid against this mad woman, not just from lack of confidence but also because of a sense of fear.

Because he was acutely aware that the words of this woman surnamed Huo were true. If he continued to bid, she would certainly throw out those five billion without hesitation!

”I’m out. The Jade Clothing is yours, Miss!”

Watanabe Yasu’s voice was somewhat hoarse, his eyes filled with greed as he looked at the Jade Clothing, then without even glancing at Zhou Zhen, who was sitting on pins and needles, he walked straight towards the exit. The bouncer at the door didn’t stop him either, letting him walk right out.

In the end, the Jade Clothing was successfully auctioned by Huo Sining for five billion. Hong Si was brimming with excitement, looking at Huo Sining as if she were the God of Wealth herself.

Boss Jiang sat next to Huo Sining, and after watching the entire auction, he felt his heart racing and struggled to breathe.

Huo Sining had tossed out those five billion without even making a sound, her composed demeanor as if it wasn’t her money she was spending.

Remembering the way Huo Sining produced her bank card, a passionate feeling surged in Boss Jiang’s heart, and he couldn’t help but feel exhilarated: The Jade Queen truly lived up to her name, the grandeur of a great house indeed!

It wasn’t until they left the black market that Su Qingqing and Ji Kun and the others seemed to still be in a trance, all of them looking at Huo Sining with eyes as if they were seeing a creature from another world.

It wasn’t until they were on the car back to the Tengchong city area that Su Qingqing finally couldn’t hold back her curiosity and asked, ”Ningning, where... where did you get all that money from?”

Huo Sining raised an eyebrow and with a smile said to Su Qingqing, ”Secret.”

In fact, it wasn’t until after the bid was called that Huo Sining slowly came back to her senses, and just like that, she had spent five hundred million. If that were to be converted into paper money, she would probably get a cramp counting it all! Living for over twenty years, this was the first time she had been such a spendthrift.

Qin Lianshan, however, was extremely excited. He couldn’t take his eyes off the jade clothing in the glass coffin.

But now was clearly not the time to study this artifact. The Forbidden City Museum had already communicated with the Yunnan Military Region, and as soon as Qin Lianshan and his team arrived in the Tengchong city area, a special forces team was already waiting on standby. Thus, as soon as the artifact arrived in Tengchong City, it was secretly taken over by the special forces and prepared to be sent to the Imperial Capital overnight.

With the matter settled, the museum experts could no longer stay in Tengchong.

These people were obsessed with cultural relics. The jade clothing had just been unearthed and must have clues on it. The earlier they got back to study, the more chances they would have to unravel the mystery of the Thousand-Year Ancient Tomb, so these experts were eager to rush back to the Imperial Capital.

”Huo girl, you’ve been a great help today. Rest assured, we’ll report this up the chain, and we won’t let you foot the bill!”

Qin Lianshan also prepared to rush back to the Imperial Capital. Before boarding the vehicle, he gave Huo Sining a smile and a promise.

Five hundred million was no small sum, and the fact that Huo Sining had stepped up at such a critical moment to help them out was altruistic enough, but if the officials would have Huo Sining shell out this money for nothing, not just Huo Sining, but he wouldn’t agree to it either.

Huo Sining, having received Qin Lianshan’s assurance, finally breathed a sigh of relief. Although it was thrilling to throw down such a large sum in one go, the money wasn’t hers—it was transferred to her by Gu Xu after he found out she was attending the black market auction. If the Forbidden City Museum didn’t refund her the money, she really would have no place to cry.

After finding a hotel to stay in Tengchong, Huo Sining immediately picked up her phone to call Gu Xu: ”So, I’ve run out of money.”

As she said this, Huo Sining felt a bit embarrassed.

Because she recalled that moment and realized that if she hadn’t been so impulsive, she could have cut the expenditure of five hundred million in half. If only she had been a little calmer and more assertive, she could have intimidated the little Japanese bidder and likely secured the jade clothing for around two hundred and fifty million.

On the other side, Gu Xu seemed to laugh with an easy and casual air: ”No worries, if it’s spent, we’ll just earn it back.”

”You’re not pained by this?” she asked, inwardly disdainful, Isn’t that a silly question? This is five hundred million, not five dollars—who wouldn’t feel the pinch?

Gu Xu laughed and said, ”Why feel pained about it? However it was spent, the museum will send it back to us in the same way. Plus, we might even earn the title of ’Outstanding Citizen.’ Honey, we’re not losing out.”

Hearing this, Huo Sining suddenly felt a pang of black lines surfacing on her forehead.

After all, she had just spent five hundred million of Gu Xu’s money, and Huo Sining couldn’t help but feel a bit uneasy. After thinking it over, she tentatively asked, ”Should I... write you an IOU? Or have your lawyer draw up an agreement?”

Gu Xu suddenly fell silent on the other side, causing Huo Sining to panic, realizing she might have said something wrong.

”I mean... I didn’t mean...” Huo Sining started awkwardly trying to explain, but before she could finish, Gu Xu interrupted her.

”That’s fine!” Gu Xu replied coolly.

”Huh?” Huo Sining was stunned.

Gu Xu said earnestly, ”Let’s make it a selling myself contract then. From now on, you’ll be a member of Gu Family!”
