Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 577: Chapter 575: President Song Requests Your Presence

Song Xiaochen did not bother with Qin Tian; instead, he stood up and walked towards Huo Sining. He stopped a foot away from her, reached out his hand, and smiled faintly at her:

”Miss Huo, hello, my name is Song Xiaochen. I hope you don’t mind me taking the liberty of having you called over.”

So, he was the ”President Song” that the croupier had mentioned. Huo Sining thought to herself about everyone at the Grand Lisboa Casino. There was also a member of the Song family known as Song Lifeng, the Gambling King. She wondered what the relationship between this Song Xiaochen and the Song Gambling King was.

Though filled with intense curiosity, Huo Sining maintained a polite smile, extended her hand to shake his, and said, ”Mr. Song, you are too courteous. May I know why you have asked to see me here?”

Song Xiaochen smiled, ”Jun Zi and Xiaotian mentioned that Xu Zi’s wife was in the retail customer area and that she’s not only an extremely fortunate and lucky beauty but also a real stunner. Driven by curiosity, I had someone invite Miss Huo to come up and sit for a while.”

Having said this, Song Xiaochen led Huo Sining to a sofa inside the room.

Huo Sining glanced at Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian before sitting down as instructed, followed by Su Qingqing and Bai Yishan, who also took seats next to her, eyeing Song Xiaochen curiously.

”You are quite familiar with Gu Xu and the others?” Huo Sining asked, puzzled.

A trace of nostalgia flickered in Song Xiaochen’s eyes, ”I lived in the military compound in the Imperial Capital for a few years when I was younger; I was quite close with them.”

At this point, Song Xiaochen suddenly changed the subject, ”Miss Huo, is this your first time at the Grand Lisboa? Do you enjoy gambling?”

While pouring tea for Huo Sining and the others, Song Xiaochen asked with a smile.

Huo Sining was not clear about what Song Xiaochen was getting at, but for some reason, she could detect a hint of hostility in his casual remarks.

This made Huo Sining quite astonished. Apart from the three hundred thousand she had just won, she seemed to have no prior issue with this Mr. He. Why did this person appear to be filled with animosity toward her? Could it be she had inadvertently done something to provoke his anger?

”A little gambling is pleasant; excessive gambling is harmful. I’m not keen on the game. It’s just a diversion and not something I particularly like, but of course, I don’t detest it either.”

Huo Sining pondered the implications of Song Xiaochen’s words as she responded.

”I see Miss Huo is young yet quite perceptive about gambling. I wonder if you would be interested in betting against me for one round?”

Song Xiaochen was quite taken aback by Huo Sining’s composed response, but having been in the industry for many years, he was naturally not someone that Huo Sining could easily dismiss with a few words.

Huo Sining had the intention to decline, but Song Xiaochen’s follow-up words caused Ouyang Jun’s and Qin Tian’s expression to change dramatically.

”They both came to discuss a cooperation project with me today. Miss Huo, if you gamble with me for one round and win, I will sign their project contract. How about that?”

Huo Sining’s relationship with Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian was merely a polite acquaintance, nothing deep enough to share confidences.

Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian were negotiating some cooperation project with Song Xiaochen which Huo Sining was completely unaware of, but seeing both Ouyang and Qin change their demeanor, Huo Sining already understood that the contract was clearly very important to them.

Huo Sining was no saint; she could ignore Song Xiaochen’s provocation, and even when it involved others’ contract negotiations, she could have completely disregarded it.

However, Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian were Gu Xu’s childhood friends, so with Gu Xu in between, she had no choice but to consider her next move carefully.

It wasn’t just about the past or present, but also the future. She would inevitably need to seek help from Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian. If she were to sit idle this time, even if they didn’t outwardly show it, they would definitely harbor some grudges in their hearts.

”Alright, I’ll bet with you!”

After some consideration, Huo Sining raised her head and replied firmly.

Ouyang Jun’s face changed slightly and Qin Tian’s expression grew even more troubled. He had once joked to Song Xiaochen that Huo Sining’s gambling skills were formidable, but he never anticipated that Song Xiaochen would take it seriously and actually invite Huo Sining to a bet.

Seeing Qin Tian and Ouyang Jun about to voice their concerns, Huo Sining gently shook her head, signaling that they needn’t worry.

Huo Sining’s response surprised Song Xiaochen, but soon a sly, triumphant smile appeared on his face, ”Miss Huo is indeed forthright. What are you best at betting on?”

”What I’m best at betting on?” A strange smile crept onto Huo Sining’s face, ”I’m best at gambling on stones and antiques.”

Song Xiaochen was taken aback at first but then chuckled softly after recovering, ”Miss Huo, you really have a sense of humor. Our casino doesn’t have gambling on stones or treasure appraisal. You’d better choose something else. Whatever gambling tools are available in our casino, feel free to choose anything!”

Choose something else? This really stumped Huo Sining. Seeing Song Xiaochen’s confident demeanor, it was clear he was certain of winning this bout. He probably knew every game in the casino like the back of his hand.

Yet, Huo Sining rarely paid attention to gambling. She didn’t understand any of the games. Playing against strengths with her weaknesses, the current situation didn’t look too good for her.

Is there any game simple enough for her to pick up easily?

Huo Sining’s gaze swept across the table and landed on a die on the coffee table, triggering the memory of her previous crushing defeat of Song Hui at Diecuiyuan. Her eyes lit up:

”I don’t understand any casino rules, so how about we play dice? It’s the simplest. We’ll have three dice in a shaker, and we’ll guess the big or small outcome. What do you think?”

Huo Sining was aware from many TV shows and movies that dice games were the simplest and most straightforward, with few complicated rules to worry about. It was easy to get started, but most importantly, she could cheat using Heavenly Eye!

But when Huo Sining made her suggestion, the expressions on Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian’s faces instantly darkened.

These two had gone to great lengths to bring Huo Sining to the Aocheng Casino because they knew she had impressive gambling skills. They hoped, after discussing their business cooperation, to take Huo Sining to the VIP area on the third floor and let her outmaneuver the wealthy gamblers. Afterwards, they simply had to place their bets behind Huo Sining to reap bountiful rewards.

What they hadn’t anticipated was that a casual comment would draw Song Xiaochen’s attention to Huo Sining and even lead to a betting match with her.

What made Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian feel even more devastated was that out of all the games Huo Sining could have chosen, she picked dice—a game she could easily blunder in, effectively digging her own grave.

Upon hearing Huo Sining’s words, Song Xiaochen’s face broke into an amused smile.

”Playing dice? Are you sure, Miss Huo?” Song Xiaochen asked intentionally, his smile barely concealed, clearly very pleased by Huo Sining’s decision.
