Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 587: Chapter 585: Anti-Surveillance Ability

”What do we do? Guys, stay alert—if they dare to storm in, show no mercy!”

As he spoke, a sneer appeared at the corner of the burly man’s mouth, and a strong killing intent shone from his eyes. His gaze swept over everyone in the bank, and he said coldly:

”Now your lives are in our hands. If you want to live, behave yourself and cooperate. If you don’t care about living, then go ahead and rush outside!”

With that, the burly man’s eyes focused sharply, landing on the surveillance cameras within the bank. Without a second word, he took up his gun and fired several shots directly at the monitors.

Huo Sining had just realized that there was a reason this burly man had become the leader of the gang.

Not only did he have a fierce appearance that was extremely intimidating, but his actions and demeanor also exuded a terrifying presence. Moreover, he was sharp-minded and observant, perceiving that the surveillance cameras could be detrimental to them—and immediately destroyed them, preventing those outside from seeing the situation inside.

What made Huo Sining most uneasy was that this burly man’s marksmanship was exceptionally precise; the way he shattered those camera heads with his shots showed that he didn’t waste a single bullet. Not a shot was fired in vain.

This was definitely a ruthless character. Judging by his demeanor, he was very likely someone who had been discharged from the military.

Outside, seven or eight police cars arrived, sirens wailing incessantly, a sound that struck fear in the heart. The police had already cordoned off the area of the incident, prohibiting vehicles and onlookers from approaching.

A square-faced middle-aged man quickly stepped down from a police car and walked over.

”Director Fu.”

”Director Fu!”

The police officers who had arrived earlier greeted the newcomer.

Fu Yuanshan had a serious expression, and although his stride was steady, his eyes were filled with urgency.

”How’s the situation inside?”

Zhao Chunhui stepped forward: ”It’s bad. Although the robbers can’t escape, they have hostages, and we dare not act rashly. Additionally, according to the bank staff, at least twenty civilians are trapped in the bank’s main hall.”

”How many robbers?” Director Fu asked again.

”There are five in total, but I shot and killed one on the perimeter. Now, according to the bank’s internal surveillance footage, there are four robbers who have entered the main hall, and they all have guns.”

At these words, Fu Yuanshan’s brow furrowed tightly, and a flash of anger and discontent flickered in his eyes: ”What’s wrong with the bank staff, how could they let it get to this point? Didn’t they evacuate the trapped employees immediately?”

Zhao Chunhui looked embarrassed: ”Director Fu, it all happened so suddenly, the bank staff also panicked, they... ”

Fu Yuanshan waved his hand, uninterested in listening to these meaningless explanations: ”As if their lives are the only ones that matter. They’re just selfishly worrying about their own safety. What do you mean they panicked? As bank employees, haven’t they been trained for this kind of situation?”

Feeling rebuffed, Zhao Chunhui quietly stepped aside. Director Fu was the head of the police department, and even the SWAT team had to listen to him. Here, in terms of rank, Director Fu was undoubtedly the highest in command. The SWAT team specializes in handling these sudden situations, and with Director Fu bringing them over, there was no longer any need for the local police station to be involved.

Zhao Chunhui was about to call his men to retreat when suddenly, a police officer ran over in a hurry, his face filled with panic and anxiety, ”Director Zhao, Director Fu, those robbers have destroyed the surveillance system inside the bank.”

”What?” Fu Yuanshan couldn’t help the anger rising on his face when he heard this, ”It looks like there’s a tough character inside!”

Through the surveillance system, it was possible to observe the robbers’ positions, calculate their exact locations, and facilitate sniper actions when necessary. But with the surveillance equipment destroyed and buildings providing cover, snipers were unable to precisely target their marks, which was definitely not good news.

”These people are definitely ruthless bandits; they all have weapons and strong anti-surveillance capabilities. They’re certainly experienced criminals! They’re using obstacles for cover and are well-concealed, plus they’ve placed two bank security guards at the entrance as hostages,” Zhao Chunhui analyzed.

Fu Yuanshan nodded, ”Have the snipers ready. If these robbers run out, let none escape! However, our top priority right now is still to ensure the safety of the hostages. We must find a way to rescue these civilians. These robbers are desperados, and if pushed too far, I fear they will endanger the hostages’ safety!”

On the other side, the negotiation expert was still using a megaphone, continuously shouting into the bank, ”Listen up, people inside. You are surrounded. Put down your weapons, stop resisting, surrender your arms, and don’t engage in futile resistance...”

Fu Yuanshan and Zhao Chunhui both shook their heads. To these desperados, such negotiation shouts were like scratching an itch through a boot—utterly useless.

If the robbers were to surrender voluntarily, they must be out of their minds.

But for now, letting these experts shout and making the robbers let down their guard could delay them for even a minute, giving the police more time to prepare.

”Go check the monitoring room,” Fu Yuanshan said quietly after listening for a while.

”Director Fu, the surveillance devices have been destroyed,” Zhao Chunhui said puzzled.

Fu Yuanshan nodded, ”I know, but the surveillance footage from before the destruction is still there. I’ll go see if I can find another breakthrough.”

Hearing this, Zhao Chunhui nodded and accompanied Fu Yuanshan to the monitoring room.

Upon pulling up the previous surveillance videos, they could clearly see what had happened inside the bank.

”Twenty-seven people in total, counting the four robbers and two bank security guards.”

With just a glance, Fu Yuanshan could clearly count, ”Two by the entrance against the wall, acting as lookouts, another hidden beside a pillar, while the last one took cover behind the teller machines. These people are all quite cunning and experienced.”

Zhao Chunhui nodded in agreement, ”Right, these people are well spread out, all hiding behind barriers. It seems they are well prepared for the possibility of us using snipers.”

Fu Yuanshan frowned, his gaze unconsciously drifting towards the twenty-one ordinary civilians crouching and holding their heads in the corner. Suddenly, his expression froze, and his eyes locked onto two young girls in the corner. He exclaimed in shock, ”Why is she here too?!”

Seeing Fu Yuanshan’s eyes flash with panic and anxiety, Zhao Chunhui felt something was amiss and couldn’t help but ask, ”Director Fu, do you know someone in there?”

Fu Yuanshan took a deep breath, hesitated for a moment, and then pointed to a figure on the screen, ”If I’m not mistaken, that girl is named Huo Sining, Secretary Su’s niece...”

Zhao Chunhui might not have felt much upon hearing Huo Sining’s name, but when Fu Yuanshan mentioned she was Secretary Su’s niece, his pupils instantly dilated, and he subconsciously thought of an incident that had happened earlier.
