The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Shu Yu prepared a New Year’s gift package, including homemade sunflower oil, melon seeds, instant noodles, sausages, and more.

In addition, she also prepared for everyone a piece of pork belly, a few yards of cloth, along with a pack of sugar and pastries.

These items are quite impressive to gift to others, and even if the workshop staff didn’t win any prizes, bringing back such a package made them very excited.

Shu Yu made sure everyone received one, and those with children at home were already eagerly unpacking the gift boxes.

”Besides the New Year’s goods, there’s also a bonus. Everyone worked hard this year, and at year’s end, each person gets a year-end bonus.”

The year-end bonus is distributed based on seniority and contribution. Among them, Wang Kangfu, the steward of the instant noodle workshop, and Wei Ronghua, the shopkeeper of the prefecture, received the highest bonuses. One is dedicated to researching new products for Lu’s, the other expanded Lu’s branches.

Both received thirty taels each, eliciting envy from all.

Everyone else, as long as they worked hard, received some earnings. Approaching the New Year was no longer a worry.

Once the year-end bonuses were distributed, the feast was nearing its end.

Shu Yu went on stage for a few words and then let everyone disperse.

By this hour, the city gates were closed, and those living in the county town couldn’t go back. Many from the villages below had already left. Outside the workshop, many mule carriages and ox carts were specially waiting based on earlier notice, hoping to make a profit before the year-end.

Some stayed temporarily at the workshop for the night. The workshop had accommodations, but those with family members found it somewhat inconvenient, and they needed to discuss exchanging rooms.

The Lu family didn’t go back either; they all stayed at the Manor.

The Manor had enough rooms, and those not enough could stay at the workshop.

With the last big task before the New Year completed, Shu Yu let out a long breath, sleeping especially well that night.

Regarding the lottery prizes, the third prize of double wages would have to wait until next year.

As for the second prize of a mule carriage, it was previously arranged with the Wu Family’s Eldest Young Master. Their family has plenty of mules at the horse farm, even selling better than horses. So in the coming days, it would be delivered, allowing the winner to visit relatives in style during the New Year and incidentally promote Lu’s Workshop.

As for the first prize, Shu Yu thought the winning staff might take days to decide.

Who knew that early the next morning when she just stepped out of the Manor, she saw the staff member who won first prize waiting at the door.

It seemed he had been waiting for a while, sitting on a big stone at the corner of the Manor. As soon as the gate opened, he looked in that direction until Shu Yu came out, then hurriedly got up and nervously approached her.

Shu Yu somewhat remembered him; there were only three first prize winners. At the time of the draw, others lifted them up and tossed them.

He was the youngest of the three. According to Daniu, he joined in July this year, meaning his time at Lu’s Workshop was less than half a year.

No wonder when he won, everyone was amazed by his outrageous luck. Working for just half a year and getting fifty taels, isn’t this the God of Fortune’s blessing?

As he approached, Shu Yu smiled and asked, ”Looking for me?”

”Boss, can I redeem the first prize?”
