The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

When it came to this, Ruan Kewei was still somewhat dissatisfied and immediately complained about his father.

”It’s just too tense. That county magistrate is only there to send off the Old Lady Ruan, and what does that have to do with our family? I haven’t gathered with my friends for a while now. We finally have a chance to drink, but I can’t even drink to my heart’s content.”

Speaking of this, Ms. Lou indeed found it strange. Ruan Kewei had indeed rarely gone out lately, staying home for half a month.

She tentatively asked, ”You really haven’t hung out with them in a while. Is it that they’re all busy and haven’t invited you?”

”What could they be busy with? They’re always sneaking around, never doing anything serious.” Ruan Kewei was obviously drunk, starting to stagger as he got up, his eyes turning red as he stared at Ms. Lou.

Ms. Lou was startled, knowing this was a precursor to him making a move.

Sure enough, Ruan Kewei shouted at her, ”Come over here, why are you standing so far away?”

Ms. Lou didn’t expect things to nearly spiral out of control with just a few questions. She was dissatisfied, unwilling to hide like before without drawing his attention.

Instead, she dodged while provoking him, ”They sneak around, and you’re no different. Haven’t seen you do anything more impressive than them. If you’re really capable, ask your father to find you a proper job or buy a small official position for you.”

She intended to take the opportunity to bring out Ruan Hai, letting Ruan Kewei talk more about him.

Who knew, despite Ruan Kewei being drunk, his movements weren’t sluggish at all. Ms. Lou’s words seemed to strike a nerve, provoking his shame and anger. He reached out with a big hand, grabbed Ms. Lou, pulled her by her hair, and slapped her, his eyes red as he said, ”You’re saying I’m not capable? You barren woman, you dare to despise me? I tell you, your man can kill and bury bodies. If you make me unhappy, you’ll taste what it’s like to have your skull cracked open by a hoe and die with no one knowing.”

Ms. Lou was utterly shocked—killing and burying bodies?

Was Ruan Kewei spouting nonsense or drunkenly revealing the truth?

But Ms. Lou had no time to think, as Ruan Kewei had already started banging her head against the wall.

He always beat people fiercely, but this time was worse than before, possibly due to some inner urge needing release. Ms. Lou was unable to move after a few blows.

Fortunately, this time Ruan Hai, who usually ignored the situation, rushed in upon hearing the commotion, calling his other two sons to pull Ruan Kewei away. His expression was very unpleasant, ”This brat, I told you not to cause trouble now, the county magistrate is still in the village.”

Ms. Lou leaned in the corner, catching her breath with closed eyes, feeling a sense of relief. Luckily the county magistrate was around, otherwise with Ruan Kewei’s ruthlessness this time, if no one stopped him, she feared for her life.

The Ruan family all saw the wine flask on the table, but they didn’t suspect Ms. Lou purposely placed it there.

After all, everyone knew about Ruan Kewei’s habit of beating her when drunk; she wouldn’t be so self-destructive.

Thus, everyone thought it was Ruan Kewei who secretly stashed wine in the room himself.

While Ruan Hai and the others controlled the drunken Ruan Kewei, no one attended to Ms. Lou. She leaned against the corner and slowly recovered, despite being in pain and bleeding, her mind gradually became clear.

Ruan Kewei’s two sentences kept circling in her ears, giving rise to a particularly absurd and terrifying thought.
