The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

When Meng Yunzheng returned, it was already very late, but fortunately, he entered the city right before the gates closed; otherwise, he would have had to spend the night at the school.

Today’s poetry event was evidently very successful.

Not only did the students attend, but Meng Yunzheng also invited Shurui, Erniu, Dabao, and others, along with Master Wen’s students.

Thus, the entire poetry event was lively, and luckily the school was spacious enough, so even with everyone coming, it felt quite empty.

Though not all the tables were set up, the layout was very apparent. Anyone who’s been to a slightly larger school would recognize this environment and scale as clearly indicating plans for future enrollment and school expansion.

The dormitory supervisor, the classrooms, the Book Collection Pavilion yet to be stocked with books, the emblematic plum, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum, the glittering clear lake, and the serene bamboo forest that calms one’s mind.

Which of these is not a favorite place for students?

At first glance, they fell in love with the place.

They were unaware such a place existed in Jiangyuan County, though some well-off families who had visited this villa knew it used to be a black market. But now, there’s not a trace of the black market left; the former bustle and brilliance have been replaced by tranquility and elegance. It’s truly wonderful.

After visiting, naturally, they inquired if this place was preparing to open as a school.

Meng Yunzheng did not deny it. When others wanted to ask more, he simply directed them to consult Master Wen.

Everyone thought the school was opened by Master Wen, but they were very surprised, as Master Wen was originally just a teacher at an elementary school in the county town, specializing in teaching young children. How could he suddenly have such ambition and open such a large school?

But on second thought, Meng Yunzheng was closely associated with Master Wen, and today’s event was specially organized to invite everyone here, so perhaps the school was also related to him; maybe he even had a stake in it?

However, they did not consider that the entire school might be opened by Meng Yunzheng, or that he would become the Mountain Master in the future.

After all, the Imperial Examination is just around the corner, and unless unforeseen circumstances arise, he will surely achieve the title of Advanced Scholar. By then, either he will hold office in the capital or be assigned elsewhere; why would he give up a hard-won official position?

Meng Yunzheng did not explain and felt there was no need to say much now.

Today, he mainly intended to create anticipation, letting everyone see the school and understand that it was about to enroll students.

The impact was evidently great, with everyone praising the school and finding it remarkable. Without even mentioning those already studying in the school, some families with children ready to enter school were already asking about enrollment schedules and procedures.

Shu Yu, after listening to Meng Yunzheng, jokingly said, ”Then should I first congratulate Mountain Master Meng here?”

Meng Yunzheng loved her calling him Mountain Master, and as they sat in the pavilion speaking with no one around, he held her hand and replied, ”So, when will you become the Mountain Master’s Wife?”

Shu Yu, ”...” She was still pondering when he continued, ”I’ve already arranged for the teacher who calculated the dates for Lanhua. I’m going to see him tomorrow to calculate our wedding date to decide when we shall marry.”

”Aren’t you afraid I might have something to do tomorrow and won’t be available?” You already arranged in advance?

Meng Yunzheng said, ”That’s not a problem. Calculating the wedding date is primarily the man’s responsibility. Once it’s determined, I can bring it to you for consideration. However, I think if the two of us go together, we can finalize it on the spot.”
