The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Ms. Lou suspected that Ruan Kewei might have committed murder; once this thought emerged, it grew wildly and couldn’t be suppressed.

Then she began to recall Ruan Kewei’s behavior from a while ago. The most unusual trait was that he obediently stayed at home during this period, only going out two days ago.

Why did he suddenly stop going out to meet friends? What did he do before this?

Ms. Lou thought deeply. She hadn’t paid attention to Ruan Kewei before, but upon reflection, she realized that one day half a month ago, he suddenly entered the room sweating profusely in the early morning, his expression panicked as he hid under the blanket.

In the following days, he even had nightmares while sleeping at night. Ms. Lou, who was a light sleeper, was woken up by him twice. This hadn’t happened before, but she thought Ruan Kewei often did things with a guilty conscience, possibly due to inner guilt.

But she never thought he might have gone to commit murder and bury the body.

Once Ms. Lou thought of this, her body trembled. All she could think was to find the county magistrate and to tell her as quickly as possible.

At that moment, Ms. Lou nearly got up and ran directly to Ruan Chengqian’s house, but as she stood up, Ruan Hai’s wife frowned and scolded her, ”You better go wash up, with all that blood smeared. What are you showing to people?”

That sentence suddenly cleared Ms. Lou’s mind.

Yes, she needed to calm down, she couldn’t just rush over like that.

Ms. Lou restrained her trembling hands, quietly washed away the blood on her body, then returned to the room and said to the Ruan family, ”I want to go back to my mother’s home.”

Ruan Hai’s wife disagreed, ”Back to your mother’s home again at this late hour? Have you forgotten you’re already married, running back to your mother’s home every day, how does that look?”

Ms. Lou tearfully replied, ”I want to go back. Even if you stop me, I will go back. He really wanted to beat me to death today. I don’t want to...”

She deliberately raised her voice, and Ruan Hai immediately frowned and scolded, ”Fine, go back if you’re going back, why the fuss?”

The county magistrate was in Ruan Family Village, and Ruan Hai really didn’t want any commotion at home to attract attention.

Therefore, Ms. Lou’s return went surprisingly smoothly this time.

But before she left, Ruan Hai warned her to stay quietly at her mother’s home without wandering around.

Ms. Lou didn’t pack anything and endured the pain and dizziness in her head, silently returning to the Lou Family under the night sky.

Then she asked Father Lou to go to Ruan Libao’s house to find him, but Ms. Lou didn’t tell Father Lou exactly what happened, only that she needed to see the county magistrate for something important.

Actually, even without saying it, Father Lou could see the change in her somewhat numb eyes, and upon mentioning the county magistrate, he guessed it had something to do with the Ruan family.

The Lou family parents asked no questions, they skillfully and tenderly dressed her wounds.

Only when Shu Yu arrived did Ms. Lou’s tense heart relax a little.

After listening, Ruan Chengqian was quite shocked, ”According to your story, Ruan Kewei... might really be involved in a murder.”

Shu Yu looked solemn, ”Do you know who the victim is?”

Ms. Lou shook her head, ”I don’t know, I didn’t have time to ask before he beat me so badly I couldn’t speak. But he mentioned that no one knew the other party was dead, maybe this matter was kept hidden.”

Shu Yu then turned to Ruan Chengqian, ”Half a month ago, within a ten-mile radius, do you know of anyone missing from any household?”

Ruan Chengqian frowned, thought carefully, then raised his head and said, ”It might be the Cao family’s lad, Cao Jiang.”
