The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

On the day of the poetry meeting, Shu Yu didn’t go with them; she was helping the old lady prepare for Ying Dong and Hua Xian’s wedding.

After the couple expressed their feelings to each other, the old lady wanted to host their wedding.

However, their situation was special. Hua Xian was sold by her parents to raise grain when she was seven or eight years old, and since then, she had worked as a maid in several households. Her hometown was hundreds of kilometers away, and contact had long been lost. Even if they knew where her parents lived, it wouldn’t be possible to notify them.

So, to sum it up, she didn’t have any family here. The people she was most familiar with were all from the Lu family.

As for Ying Dong, he did have a sister.

But she was his only blood relative.

However, he still had Meng Yunzheng as a childhood friend, Uncle Meng as a caring elder, and Uncle Yan as a half-master who taught him martial arts.

For his wedding, he certainly couldn’t leave them out.

So they waited until Meng Yunzheng and the others returned before officially scheduling the wedding date.

The old lady now loved organizing weddings for others. She felt full of energy. When Shu Yu worried she might tire herself out and tried to help, she didn’t want assistance, only discussing matters with her sister, Granny Fang.

While discussing, Granny Fang thought of her own grandson, ”Ah Gui is also of marriageable age. When will I finally enjoy my granddaughter-in-law’s tea?”

The old lady laughed and said, ”Didn’t you say last time that Xiangdi was great? Let them spend more time together. They might develop feelings for each other. Besides, you and Xiang get along well, and you both enjoy making clothes. If you become one family, you wouldn’t have conflicts.”

Granny Fang held her forehead, ”I would love to, but Ah Gui is seldom at home, they simply have no chance to spend time together.”

Only she and Xiang were eagerly thinking about it on their own.

Xiang thought Yuan Gui was quite nice. Xiangdi wanted to marry in to take care of her mother. If she married into Yuan Gui’s family, both families led simple lives, and there were only women on both sides, eliminating the need for formalities.

Then the two families could fully unite, providing each other with support, and she wouldn’t have to constantly worry about her mother being alone.

Yuan Gui was sensible and filial as well as good looking, as could be seen from his treatment of Granny Fang.

Unfortunately, Yuan Gui and her daughter had only met a few times, and Xiangdi, despite her age, wasn’t in a rush at all.

Upon hearing Granny Fang’s words, the old lady immediately laughed, ”Blame Yu for giving Ah Gui so much work. I’ll have a talk with her later.”

Granny Fang immediately glared at her, ”You can’t blame Yu. It’s Ah Gui who is bursting with energy. Before, he didn’t make any progress at the Minor Escort Agency, and the wages were low. Now, Yu pays him well, and he wants to accomplish something, so he won’t miss any opportunities.”

Yuan Gui has now formally become the head of Lu’s Caravan. After returning from delivering goods to Changjin Prefecture with Daniu, he threw himself into work with enthusiasm and had many ideas.

Knowing the caravan was short of manpower, especially those with skills and courage, he invited his friend and escort Wan Liangding, who once worked with him at the Minor Escort Agency, to join.

Wan Liangding was the one who informed the Tan Family butler of Yuan Gui’s whereabouts. He was already very dissatisfied with how the escort agency handled matters. Yuan Gui’s accident was unexpected, and the escort agency was mostly just neglectful. Lacking strength in numbers, he couldn’t do anything against the agency either.
