The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Shu Yu comforted her, ”Grandmother, Yun is confident about the exam, that’s why he’s like this. You must believe in him.”

The old lady did believe, of course she did. After all, Meng Yunzheng was the only one she’d seen who was so busy that he didn’t even have time to read, yet he could still pass with flying colors.

But believing is one thing; she was still worried about what if something went wrong.

However, Meng Yunzheng set up a school at home and actually reaped great benefits.

The children were even happier, especially when the weather was cold; they could have barbecues and eat hotpot at home. It was a lively and exciting atmosphere.

The old lady saw that Meng Yunzheng handled everything with ease, as if it really didn’t affect him, and eventually said no more.

More than half a month later, it was Hua Xian and Ying Dong’s wedding day.

Their wedding was very simple, held at the Lu family home with family and friends present.

That morning, Hua Xian came out wearing her bridal gown from the old lady’s courtyard. Her room was next to the old lady’s, while Ying Dong’s was in the front courtyard.

Ying Dong prepared a sedan chair specifically to carry Hua Xian for a small round in the backyard, then they arrived at the front yard.

The children followed along, firecrackers sounded endlessly. Despite the simplicity of the wedding, it was still lively and festive.

Hua Xian was the most useful around the old lady. Usually, she spent the most time with her. Now that she was getting married, the gifts naturally had to be generous, and extra dowry was given to Hua Xian.

In addition, several masters of the Lu family gave gifts as well. In total, it was much more generous than most girls’ weddings in Shangshi Village.

From then on, Hua Xian officially became Ying Dong’s wife.

However, during the day she still stayed in the backyard attending to the old lady, and unless she occasionally stayed up for night duty, she returned to the front yard at night.

The Lu family’s servants had increased by several, and besides Hua Xian, there was a maid and two old women in the old lady’s courtyard, so there was no concern.

After the wedding, it soon became late November, and in a little over a month, it would be New Year again.

Yuan Gui, who had gone to the southwest, returned on the third of December.

He brought back two detailed route maps, showing the official roads and small paths to Linzhang Prefecture. Shu Yu was somewhat familiar with the official roads, but not the small paths.

On Yuan Gui’s map, the small paths and the villages, forests, and lakes were clearly marked.

He also brought back the sales situation from Linzhang Prefecture, which was not much different from what Shu Yu had heard.

Granny Fang was the happiest when Yuan Gui returned, knowing that before the New Year he was unlikely to leave again. So, a few days later, she started arranging for Yuan Gui and Fu Xiangdi to interact.

How their relationship developed, Shu Yu did not know. After Laba Festival, the Lu family began preparing for the New Year.

The household was bustling, and Shu Yu began the year-end accounting.

Last year in Chenggu County, Daniu brought the year-end accounts to her. When she returned this May, she had done a summary. It was right when the Passion Fruit Shop in Changjin Prefecture had just opened and was still in the investment phase, so the accounts weren’t complete.

This time, the accounts from the Passion Fruit Shop in the capital were returned, and the accounts from Changjin Prefecture for more than half a year were also brought by Meng Yunzheng when he came back.

Now, as it was year-end, she naturally needed to calculate the financial situation of the two years.

On December 15th, Shu Yu sat in the office of the workshop, busy for two or three days, and finally got all the accounts sorted out.

Looking at the figures on the accounts, and at the silver notes beside her, Shu Yu’s eyes narrowed with joy.

We’ve made a fortune!
