The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1250: Chapter 1250: Deciding to Go on a Blind Date

The old lady was somewhat prepared in her heart; seeing Lanhua remain silent, she didn’t force her, thinking she would go report to Lord Yu later.

Unexpectedly, Lanhua suddenly raised her head, ”I, I’ll go.”

The old lady was somewhat surprised, ”You’re really going? Even though I haven’t met Young Master Yu, from what Lord Yu implies, he’s definitely not a refined scholar type.”

”Yes, I know.” The other party is a blacksmith; Lanhua could somewhat imagine his appearance.

In the past, she might have instinctively felt repulsion.

But now, she still wanted to go see him, to give it a try.

Ever since Sister Yu became the Village Chief, there were plenty of people trying to matchmake for her.

Two months ago, she also had her Coming-of-age ceremony. On that very night, Madam Li brought the backgrounds of five or six suitors to ask her opinion.

Having gone through the matter with Ge Qifei, Lanhua was much more open-minded about these things.

Especially now that she was working at Yiren Pavilion, learning with Sister Shuyou about dressing, makeup, and fashion, and even started taking commissions independently, her wages had increased significantly.

In a few months’ time, she saved more money than she had over many years combined.

Lanhua tasted the perks and began focusing on her career, wanting to earn more money. Even if she married in the future, with enough dowry she would be confident and fear nothing.

But Madam Li didn’t think that way; she had too much free time now.

At home, it was just her and Lu Dasong, while Daniu and Zhou Qiao lived on the Manor, and Erniu was studying, Lanhua was working. Because there were only the two of them, afraid they couldn’t handle it, they also rented out several acres of land.

With fewer matters, she was either pondering over the child in Zhou Qiao’s belly or thinking about quickly arranging Lanhua’s marriage.

She felt that since Shu Yu had recently become the Village Chief and had experienced the housewarming feast, it was the height of her popularity, making it the ideal time for them to choose.

Didn’t she see so many matchmakers coming to their door? Before, their family could only find someone like the Ge Family, who only owned a small tofu shop. When the other party became unhappy, they could call off the engagement.

Now it’s different; not just in the village, even families with substantial means from the county town were coming to them.

This made Madam Li extremely delighted and consequently more selective.

With so many choices, Madam Li became dazzled and found it hard to decide; she thought this family was good and that family was nice and frequently came to ask Lanhua’s opinion.

Initially, Lanhua was considering; later, hearing Madam Li’s indirect remarks, she only chose those with excellent backgrounds, at least having two shops as the minimum.

Lanhua thought her mother was crazy; with such good conditions, why would they fancy her? Because Shu Yu was the Village Chief? Or did they want something from Shu Yu?

If Sister Yu disagreed, would they still regard her highly? Her future would only become more difficult.

Since she started working at Yiren Pavilion, Lanhua had seen quite a few things; she increasingly understood that in marriage alliances, compatibility between families was important.

Therefore, she rejected all the candidates Madam Li selected, making Madam Li so angry that she didn’t come to her for half a month.

But yesterday, with Shuyou getting married, Madam Li started bringing up past matters again, making Lanhua very annoyed.

Now, it was the old lady who made the introduction, and Lanhua trusted her Grandmother’s judgment more, so she thought she’d go see him.

Upon hearing her agreement, the old lady clapped her hands immediately, ”Great, then let’s head out now.”

She seemed slightly impatient, pulling Lanhua along as if ready to go.
