The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1249: Chapter 1249: Lanhua Who Values Looks

If Yu Fenglin looks too fierce and doesn’t match the aesthetic of her sister, then this could be a bit difficult.

This is exactly what the old lady is concerned about; she finds it puzzling, ”You see, the other members of the Lu family don’t care much about appearances. Good character is what matters, right? Why is it that only Lanhua seems so concerned about people’s looks?”

Shu Yu quietly rubbed her nose, Grandma, don’t you have some misconception about us Lu family members?

Everyone in the Lu family isn’t bad-looking. Whether it’s marrying a wife or marrying off people, while they may not be extremely beautiful or handsome, they are definitely decent-looking and have good looks, right?

Especially in the past two years, with good food and clothing, the Lu family members who were initially skinny and sallow-faced now appear quite appealing in others’ eyes.

The old lady didn’t feel anything at all. She seemed a bit worried, sighed for a moment, then suddenly waved her hand, ”Never mind, the person’s character is the most important. As long as they aren’t extremely unattractive, there’s nothing to worry about. No matter what, let’s have the two meet first.”

Shu Yu couldn’t help but want to laugh at her comment of ’as long as they aren’t extremely unattractive.’

Once the old lady made a decision, she relaxed, and Shu Yu saw her begin to yawn, and quickly coaxed her to sleep.

The old lady was the type to act quickly; she went to find Lanhua the very next day.

Lanhua now rents a courtyard with the studying Erniu and Cuihua’s family, which is in Liufang Alley.

The old lady was quite familiar with the area, carrying sweets and snacks, and shared a bit with acquaintances she met.

Many neighbors attended the wedding yesterday, but they went to Zhao Xi’s place, which was the main venue for the celebration.

Seeing the old lady and Shu Yu, everyone offered their congratulations.

By the time the old lady arrived at Lanhua’s house, Lanhua was just about to leave for work at Yiren Pavilion on Ningshui Street.

Yiren Pavilion was closed yesterday because of the boss’s joyous event, but today, although Shuyou couldn’t go to the shop, Lanhua and the shop staff still had to be there.

Seeing Shu Yu and the old lady, she paused in surprise, ”Grandma, Sister Yu? Why have you come over?”

”Came to find you, let’s talk inside first.”

Lanhua, feeling completely bewildered, still welcomed the two inside.

Cuihua was also at home, helping Lai Yuan, who woke up late, get dressed.

Seeing the old lady, she also seemed quite puzzled.

Until the old lady mentioned Lord Yu’s distant nephew, the two sisters suddenly understood.

They couldn’t help but look towards Shu Yu, who sighed, ”Don’t look at me, I don’t know more than Grandma does.”

Lanhua was quite shy, ”Grandma, you haven’t told my parents about this yet, have you?”

”I haven’t, your mother tends to get all flustered, so I wanted to tell you first. After you meet him, if you aren’t satisfied, we’ll pretend this never happened and no one will mention it. If you’re happy with him, I’ll discuss it with your parents.”

Lanhua pursed her lips, ”Does Grandma know what he looks like?”

Shu Yu almost laughed out loud; sure enough, Lanhua’s first question was about appearance.

The old lady suddenly became hesitant, ”Well, I haven’t seen him, so how would I know? Just from what Lord Yu says, he seems quite sturdy, a bit... fierce.”

The last word was spoken by the old lady very softly.

But both Lanhua and Cuihua heard it.

Lanhua was silent for a long time, and seeing this, the old lady sighed, ”If you don’t want to, then forget it.”
