The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1247: Chapter 1247: Lord Yu Introduces a Match

This sounded a bit strange, Shu Yu looked at him in confusion, “What is it?”

Lord Yu still had a cheerful smile, “I heard you have a cousin who hasn’t been engaged yet? I have a candidate, a distant nephew of mine, a decent person, nineteen this year, and still unmarried.”

Shu Yu was taken aback, not expecting Lord Yu to propose a marriage for Lanhua.

She felt both amused and helpless, “Lord Yu, you really put me in a difficult position. When it comes to marriage, it’s not appropriate for a junior like me to say much. But if Lord Yu recommends someone, they must be quite good. Why not have a chat with the old lady of my house?”

Shu Yu dared not get involved in Lanhua’s marriage.

Madam Li was already dissatisfied with her in various ways. If Lord Yu’s recommended person were not as good as Meng Yunzheng or Zhao Xi, who knows what she would say.

Moreover, there was a distance between Lanhua and herself. If Lord Yu talked to Cuihua, as her biological sister, Cuihua could take a look and lend a hand, and there would be no issue.

As for her, it would be best for the old lady to have a look.

However, Shu Yu believed that the person introduced by Lord Yu shouldn’t be bad. It was clear he wanted to befriend her, and he wouldn’t mislead her at such a time.

As the biological grandmother of Lanhua, even with her heavy suspicions, Madam Li would trust the old lady wouldn’t harm Lanhua.

Lord Yu naturally understood this, but due to Lu Shuyu’s special status, he first came to greet her, just to keep her informed.

Upon hearing Shu Yu’s words, Lord Yu readily nodded, “Alright, then I’ll chat with the old lady later.”

As they were talking, someone was already calling them to eat.

Shu Yu and Lord Yu paused their conversation and walked together towards the front yard.

After the banquet, Lord Yu indeed went to find the old lady.

Shu Yu didn’t know what they talked about; there were many guests at home, and many pulled her to chat, leaving her no time to spare. She didn’t even know when Lord Yu left.

By evening, except for Madam Li and Madam Liang, who stayed to help, everyone else had left.

With Shuyou married, people were still not quite used to it.

Especially Madam Ruan and the old lady, but Madam Ruan had Lu Erbai in her room, and the two could converse.

The old lady simply came to Yu Garden to find Shu Yu, with the grandmother and granddaughter sitting on the bed, chatting and eating fruit, perfectly at ease without adhering to any formalities.

The old lady said, “Although I know Zhao Xi is not that Zhang Shu, and I understand our family is different now, and Daya won’t be bullied like before. Yet, with her getting married, I can’t help but worry. Thinking of that Zhang Shu incident still makes my heart pound.”

Who would have thought that someone who appeared so honest on the surface was actually such a beast in human disguise?

Shu Yu stuffed a slice of tangerine into the old lady’s mouth and laughed, “Grandmother, just be at ease. We never interacted with that Zhang Shu before, didn’t know his character. But we’ve come all the way with Zhao Xi. No matter how well he hides, can he escape our piercing eyes?”

The old lady was amused by her, “You have piercing eyes? Then later take a look at Lanhua’s candidate from Lord Yu, how do they seem?”

Shu Yu paused her action of eating the tangerine, curious, “Has Lord Yu already explained to you in detail? Who is the person? How did you reply? Did you agree?”

“Agree to what? Just because Lord Yu says they’re good, doesn’t mean they are. I said I’d consider it. Later, you find an opportunity to accompany me to see.”
