The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1205: Chapter 1205 Little Song Le Looks at Quanquan

Zhao Xi rubbed his chin. “Looks like in the future, if we need to discuss time, we can’t go to the county office anymore.”

Shu Yu nodded. Seeing that she was about to reach the turning corner of the alley, she waved to Zhao Xi, “Thanks for telling me all this. I have something to do, so I’ll leave first.”

Turning this corner, it leads directly to Fenghuai Street. She returned to hitch up the carriage and then headed out of town.

Zhao Xi watched her figure disappear, stomping his foot after a while, “Weren’t you supposed to help me check out houses?”

Was she just using him to find out things?

Is she still his dear sister-in-law? She’s really irresponsible!

Shu Yu pretended she didn’t hear the shouting from behind and quickly returned home.

Then she asked the coachman to hitch up the carriage and headed straight out of the city.

Once at the Manor, she called upon Daniu who had just returned in the morning, and went to see the piece of vacant land he mentioned.

The spot indeed was large enough, but the price was a bit steep.

Shu Yu bargained down a little and used eight hundred taels of money to buy the land.

Her wallet shrank significantly, and Shu Yu couldn’t help but sigh. It’s fortunate she still had some income from the scar removal cream at Doctor Xu’s place, otherwise she’d be broke.

I need to earn money quickly; we’re living off savings now.

After buying the land, Shu Yu didn’t delay and headed back to the county town.

She originally planned to think about the workshop issue once she got home to see what kind of building they’d construct.

Shu Yu’s idea was that since the place is far from the county town, they’d probably need to build some dormitories for the workers to live in.

The land is quite expansive, but not all will be used for now. When the sunflower yield increases in the future, expanding the workshop won’t be a problem, so the distance between the dormitories and the workshop needs to be measured properly.

Shu Yu was lost in thought, and didn’t expect to hear lively noises as soon as she returned home.

She listened and recognized Madam Liang’s voice.

Not only was Madam Liang here, but also Lu Sixing and Cuihua, who recently moved to live in the county town, were present.

They all came to see her upon hearing she returned from the Capital.

As a result, the courtyard was filled with running and jumping children.

Only Dabao and the others were away studying, otherwise, it would be livelier.

“Yu, you’re back?” Madam Liang, with sharp eyes, was the first to spot her and quickly ran forward, “Yu, let me tell you, we moved into a new house. Oh, living in a new house is something else, it’s wonderful. When will you come over for a visit?”

Shu Yu walked inside, “I’ll come by when I have time.”

“Alright then.”

Shu Yu approached the old lady and greeted Lu Sixing and Cuihua.

The old lady looked at her dusty appearance, “Running around inside and outside the town as soon as you got back, go wash your face and change clothes. I’ve asked the kitchen to prepare some bird’s nest soup for you, you should drink some.”

Madam Liang instantly brightened at the mention, swallowing hard.

Bird’s nest, though her family was living well now, bird’s nest was still something she couldn’t have.

She opened her mouth, “Mother, is there a lot of bird’s nest soup?”

“You think it’s like cabbage? Of course not much. Those bird’s nests were gifts from government madams when Yu returned from the Capital, they’re precious.” The old lady surely knew her little thoughts. She even dared to ask.

Madam Liang pouted but dared not to aim for the bird’s nest.

Shu Yu chuckled and ran straight to Yu Garden.

After changing into clean clothes and coming out, she saw Little Song Le hiding behind a wall, showing a pair of hesitant and fearful eyes, looking at… Quanquan who was playing not far away.
