Super Rich by Doing as You Please

”Of course. I’ll take you to the classroom right now.”

Seeing the camera was still rolling, Teacher Huang led the way, briefly explaining the school’s situation as they walked.

”A lot of young people from the countryside have moved to the cities for work, so most of the children left behind are looked after by their grandparents. That’s why the school doesn’t have many students.

The school provides a free lunch every day so the kids don’t have to go home to eat.

Of course, since the county’s funding is limited, the school’s facilities aren’t the best.”

As he spoke, the group of six arrived at the second-grade classroom.

Xu Yun, Jiang Peiyao, and Yu Xuan saw the simple classroom filled with elementary school students. The children’s clothes were worn, and their faces weren’t very clean.

The scene was a world away from the schools in the city.

But after a glance around the classroom, Teacher Huang didn’t see the boy he wanted to help.

So he asked the other students, ”Why isn’t Li Shibo here yet?”

A girl stood up and said, ”Teacher, he’s in the cafeteria eating our leftover bones.”

”He’s eating your leftover bones in the cafeteria?”

”Mhm.”

”Okay, I understand.”

Xu Yun and Jiang Peiyao exchanged a look. Then, they all followed Teacher Huang toward the school cafeteria.

The school wasn’t large, so they arrived quickly.

When they entered the cafeteria, Xu Yun and the others saw the young boy they were there to sponsor.

He had already collected bones left by the other students and piled them on the table in front of him.

Seeing this, Jiang Peiyao walked up with a smile and asked, ”Young man, you have a perfectly good lunch in front of you. Why are you eating leftover bones?”

”I’m small. I get full easily.”

The little boy answered shyly, ”This meal... I’m taking it to my mom.”

With that, he picked up his lunch and ran out of the cafeteria by himself.

Xu Yun, Jiang Peiyao, and the others quickly followed.

They followed him all the way to the school’s back gate, where they saw the boy hand his meal to a middle-aged woman waiting outside.

The woman, her hair disheveled, clearly had some issues. She ate while looking at the group and chuckling.

Teacher Huang explained from the side, ”That seems to be his mother. She has an intellectual disability.”

”Has he always done this?” Xu Yun suddenly asked.

Teacher Huang replied, ”I don’t know. Today is the first time I’ve learned about it.”

”Does your school have security cameras? Let’s go take a look.”

”Yes, we do.”

Afterward, the group went to the school’s security room to review the footage from the last few days.

It turned out that every day after the boy came to school, his mother would wait for him at the back gate.

The boy was afraid his mother would go hungry waiting by the school, so every day he saved the free lunch the school gave him and brought it to his mother.

Meanwhile, he would only eat the leftover bones and food his classmates left behind in the cafeteria.

At an age when self-esteem is so important, he chose to be selfless instead.

The son eats scraps so his mother can have a meal.

The scene left Xu Yun, Jiang Peiyao, Yu Xuan, and everyone else speechless.

That included Teacher Huang, who had only just learned the truth himself.

Over the next few hours, led by Teacher Huang, Xu Yun, Jiang Peiyao, and Yu Xuan learned more about the boy’s situation and even paid a visit to his home.

Besides his mother with an intellectual disability, the boy’s father had passed away in a car accident.

He also had an older sister and a younger brother at home, whose clothes were in even worse condition.

The family was living with their uncle.

After glancing at Xu Yun, Jiang Peiyao immediately made a promise: from now on, the Cloud Charity Organization would cover all the boy’s family’s living expenses.

All the way until he graduated from college!

As for the method of support, the organization would transfer money to the uncle’s bank account on a monthly basis, letting him manage the expenses.

After all, for an uncle to be willing to take in the boy’s entire family under such circumstances showed he was a real man.

Of course, they would also send people to conduct unannounced spot checks.

If they discovered the uncle was misusing the funds or taking them for himself, Xu Yun threatened directly, he would stop at nothing to send the man to prison.

At the same time, Jiang Peiyao also informed the teacher and the uncle that all the footage shot today telling the boy’s story would be edited and promoted on their platform for everyone to see.

The teacher and the uncle said that was fine.

After all was said and done, as they were leaving, Jiang Peiyao, at Xu Yun’s direction, also decided to donate a batch of school supplies, clothing, and sports equipment to the school, free of charge.

The items would be delivered by truck as soon as possible in the coming days.

On behalf of the school, Teacher Huang was endlessly grateful.

When the principal returned that afternoon, he wanted to treat them to dinner in town and have them stay the night, but Xu Yun declined.

Since it was getting late and he was worried about fog in the mountains on the way back, Xu Yun took the driver’s seat to lead the way.

Finally, at 8:00 PM, everyone arrived safely back in Jiangcheng.

They were tired and hungry.

So, Xu Yun treated everyone to a nice meal.

He also made sure to tell the student in charge of filming to edit today’s story well and promote it so that everyone would know about the boy.

And during their conversation, the two new college students learned that he was actually the man behind President Jiang.

He had funded the entire charity organization himself.

A man willing to spend over 50 million on charity with no expectation of return earned the deep admiration of the two students.

There were plenty of rich people in the world, but few were willing to do good deeds so sincerely.

Many were just wolves in sheep’s clothing, using the name of charity to scam people out of money or sex to satisfy their own selfish desires.

After dinner, Xu Yun had intended to go to Jiang Peiyao’s place, but he was unexpectedly turned down.

Jiang Peiyao smiled meaningfully. ”Yu Xuan has been running all over the place with me lately. It’s been tough on her.”

”Alright, I get it.”

Xu Yun chuckled. ”You’re always so considerate of others.”

”We’re all women. It’s not easy.”

Leaving the restaurant, the two college students drove off in the company car.

After dropping Jiang Peiyao home, Yu Xuan noticed that Xu Yun didn’t get out of the car. She asked, a little confused, ”Boss, aren’t you going to President Jiang’s place?”

”Not today.”

Xu Yun said, ”Come back to Jiangcheng Heaven and Earth with me.”

”Okay, Boss.”

Hearing this, Yu Xuan’s heart skipped a beat, and her face flushed slightly as a certain possibility came to mind.

But she quickly dismissed it. ’Impossible,’ she thought.

’The boss is probably just tired today and wants to rest early by himself.’

When they arrived at the Jiangcheng Heaven and Earth parking garage, Xu Yun got out. Seeing that Yu Xuan hadn’t moved, he turned and asked, ”Aren’t you coming up with me?”

”Huh?”

Xu Yun smiled. ”I’m a bit tired today. After I shower, come give me a head massage to help me relax.”

”Okay, Boss.”

Yu Xuan quickly agreed and followed him.

On the way, she discreetly took out her phone and sent a text to Ning Qian.

[I’m away on business today, not coming home tonight. Don’t wait up for me.]

....

「The next day.」

Yu Xuan left for work early in the morning.

As for Xu Yun, he stayed in bed and didn’t wake up until noon.

It wasn’t because he had exhausted his stamina last night, but because he hadn’t had a chance to sleep in for a long time. Plus, the weather was getting colder, making him want to stay in bed a little longer.

He ordered lunch from a restaurant in the residential complex.

That’s right, their complex not only had a gym and a swimming pool but also Chinese and Western restaurants, all for the convenience of residents who didn’t have time to cook.

Since it was a high-end complex, the restaurants were naturally of high quality, and the food was pretty good.

After lunch, Xu Yun started scrolling through the news on his phone.

Sure enough, after he had showered gifts in the live streamer Yang Siqi’s channel yesterday...

...combined with the recent online buzz about her relationship with the ”self-disciplined blogger,” the clickbait media had sensationalized the story, launching her onto all the major trending topics on Weibo and generating a massive amount of discussion and heat.

Curious, Xu Yun clicked into Yang Siqi’s live stream.

’Damn,’ he thought. ’Over 100,000 viewers online.’

That was countless times more than the few hundred viewers from yesterday’s deserted stream!

Suddenly, his phone rang. It was a call from Jian Shiwai.

”Hello, President Xu.”

Jian Shiwai asked with a smile, ”Are you back from Hang City?”

”I’m back. What’s up?”

”I’ve gotten a general understanding of the private jet matter you asked me to look into.”

Jian Shiwai asked, ”President Xu, where are you now? How about we meet up so I can give you the details?”

”Sure. Come to Jiangcheng Heaven and Earth.”

Xu Yun replied, ”I’ll wait for you here. We can talk over tea.”

”Okay, I’m on my way.”

While Xu Yun and Jian Shiwai were preparing to meet about buying the plane, the two college students had already worked through the night to finish editing the story about the little boy from yesterday—the one about ”the son who eats scraps so his mother can have a meal.”

In the process, they were so moved by the footage that they cried while editing it.

After showing the video to Jiang Peiyao and getting her approval, they published it on a short-video platform under the Cloud Charity Organization’s account.

They also bought a traffic boost for it.

The video was now slowly gaining traction, appearing on more and more people’s feeds.
