Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Xu Yun shot Xino a look after hearing what she said. Resignedly taking the blame, he pulled out his phone and opened WeChat.

He had Xu Song scan his code, and they added each other as friends.

After receiving the QR code tickets Xu Song sent over, Xu Yun transferred him 3,360 yuan, but the other party didn’t accept the payment immediately.

He still hadn’t accepted the money by the time they were about to deplane.

Xu Yun reminded him, ”Xu Song, please remember to accept the payment for the tickets.”

”No need. I was just joking around earlier.”

Xu Song said with a smile, ”You’re both welcome to come to my concert tomorrow night.”

Xino asked, ”So, will you be singing *Excessive Explanation*?”

”I will.”

”Great! We’ll definitely be there.”

Xino laughed. ”I especially love it when you sing, ’My little sister says her looks have a certain charm.’”

”...” Xu Song’s eye twitched.

Both parties used the VIP exit. The moment Xu Song showed his face, a group of enthusiastic female fans waiting at the airport swarmed over, surrounding them.

Fortunately, no one paid any attention to the two of them, and they quickly slipped away from the crowd.

At the airport entrance, a young man was leaning against a gray van, waiting for them.

Xu Yun glanced at the license plate to make sure it was the right one. He then walked up to the man, who looked just like he did in his videos, and asked with a smile, ”Xiaoteng the vlogger?”

”You’re Young Master Xu?”

Xiaoteng looked at the man before him, a bit surprised. ”I didn’t expect you to be even younger than me.”

”I just look young.”

Xu Yun extended his hand for a friendly shake and chuckled. ”My actual age isn’t so young. I’m almost thirty.”

”And you must be the missus?”

”My girlfriend.”

Xu Yun replied, ”I brought her along for a bit of fun.”

”She’s gorgeous,” Xiaoteng praised. Then he smiled, opened the car door, and said, ”Alright, let’s get in the car. We can talk while we eat.”

After getting in, Xino asked, ”Did you just buy this van? It’s pretty comfortable.”

”Nope. A dealership sent it over for me to use and film a review.”

Xiaoteng answered, ”For us car vloggers, our daily videos are just cars, cars, and more cars. We come into contact with all sorts of models, and if we come across one we really love, we’ll just buy it for personal use.”

”That’s great. If you come across any other good new cars in the future, you should give us a recommendation.”

Xino said, ”I only have one car right now, which feels like too few.”

”No problem.”

The meal was arranged at a private Chinese kitchen with a nice ambiance and good privacy.

This was the first time Xu Yun and Xiaoteng had met in person, but since neither of them was introverted, there were no awkward silences. They hit it off right away.

When the conversation turned to the car for tomorrow, Xiaoteng said, ”President Xu, about the car you asked me to find... the reason I insisted you come and negotiate the price in person is because this is a Valkyrie that was just shipped into the country the day before yesterday. It was even showcased at the Hang City auto show.

You could say it’s brand new.

But it’s not like a regular Valkyrie. It’s an upgraded hybrid version, one of only 25 in the world.

So, its market price is quite a bit higher than a normal Valkyrie, somewhere around 20 million yuan!”

After saying this, Xiaoteng watched Xu Yun’s expression closely. But he found that the man had no reaction at all, simply letting out a soft ”oh.”

Then he said, ”If it’s over 20 million, it’s over 20 million. That’s fine.”

This remark gave Xiaoteng a clearer picture of Xu Yun’s financial power.

”President Xu, what I just quoted was the normal international market price, just so you have a baseline.”

Xiaoteng continued, ”But because this car is so rare, most people can’t even get a glimpse of it, let alone buy it. Plus, it’s the only one in the entire country, so it’s going to be in high demand. The markup will probably be quite high.”

”It’s fine. How much more expensive can it possibly get?”

Xu Yun said confidently, ”Just help me get it. As for the money, that’s something I never consider. As long as the owner is willing to sell, I can afford it.”

”...” Xiaoteng was speechless.

’Now that’s what you call a power move!’

’People online all said he was a big shot, but really, that was just the persona he’d built for his audience.’

’He had some money, sure, but not *that* much money!’

’At least not like President Xu right here, who didn’t even bat an eye at buying a car worth tens of millions!’

’This was true wealth!’

As the dinner was winding down, the two had also nearly finished their drinks.

They didn’t drink much since they had business the next day—just one bottle of Maotai, which they split between them.

Xiaoteng finally voiced the question on his mind. ”President Xu, are you really the ’mysterious’ Young Master Xu from the internet rumors?”

”Yes.”

Xu Yun admitted it directly, without any hesitation.

”In that case, can I ask you for another favor?”

”Go ahead.”

”If you end up buying the Valkyrie, could you lend it to me to film a video?”

Xiaoteng said, ”Don’t worry, President Xu, I’ll film it right in front of you. I guarantee I won’t mess with your car.”

”Of course. I’m going to be in Hang City for two more days anyway.”

Xu Yun readily agreed. ”You helped me find the car; I was still wondering how to thank you. Once I buy it and take it for its first spin, you can have it for your video.”

”Thank you.”

Xiaoteng shook hands with Xu Yun by the roadside, and after setting a time and place to meet the next day, he hailed a cab and left.

As for the van, he left it in the parking lot there, planning to pick it up tomorrow.

He had offered to arrange a hotel for Xu Yun and Xino, but they had declined.

Xu Yun smiled. ”Let’s go. We should find a hotel to stay in.”

”Why stay in a hotel? We can stay at my place.”

Xino said, hooking her arm through Xu Yun’s, ”My family bought a house here too. A huge villa, actually.”

”Your family seems to have a lot of houses.”

”Well, my dad and my brother travel for business a lot.”

Xino explained, ”So sometimes they just buy a house in a city they frequent. That way, they can stay at home instead of a hotel on their next visit.”

”That’s a great idea. I should start doing that too.” Xu Yun’s eyes lit up instantly. ’How did I never think of that before!’

While staying in hotels was nice, staying in one’s own home was undoubtedly more comfortable, convenient, and secure.

He made up his mind. From now on, he would buy a house in every city he visited.

In a few years, he’d have houses all over the country.

The two took a taxi, and the driver brought them to a villa district based on the address Xino provided.

Stepping inside the district, they found it was filled with detached, Chinese garden-style villas.

This was Xino’s first time here as well. She used her key to open a traditional wooden door with a lion’s head knocker, like something from ancient times. The moment they stepped inside, they were stunned by the breathtaking scenery.

Warm, orange-hued lights had already been turned on in advance.

Xu Yun walked around and saw it was a sprawling courtyard villa, three bays wide and three courtyards deep. It was designed in the Suzhou garden style, perfectly capturing the artistic essence of a Jiangnan Water Village.

To be honest, he was starting to fall in love with this kind of Chinese garden villa.

About ten minutes later, Xu Yun and Xino went inside and found all the furniture to be spotless and immaculate, as if someone had cleaned it just for them.

After calling her mom, Xino found out that as soon as she had left, her mother had called people to come over and tidy up the place for their short stay.

This included a temporary cook, maids to take care of their daily needs, and others—a staff of about five people in total, all of whom would report for duty tomorrow!

Her mother had thought of everything.

Listening to Xino’s phone conversation with her mother, Xu Yun sighed to himself, ’So this is the real daily life of the wealthy. What was I even doing before?’

”What are you sighing about?”

Seeing his expression, Xino asked, ”Don’t you like this style? If you don’t, we can just go to a hotel.”

”It’s not that. It’s just... your parents really know how to live.”

Xu Yun laughed. ”When I have some time in the next day or two, I’m going to get one of these for myself and experience the tranquility and gentle charm of a Jiangnan Water Village.”

”Okay! Why not just buy one in this same complex?”

”We’ll see.”

Xu Yun scooped a certain someone up by the waist and chuckled mischievously. ”For now, let’s go to bed. We shouldn’t let such a beautiful night and scenery go to waste.”

”Mmm.”

Xino said shyly, ”And it just so happens I’m wearing purple today.”

”???” Xu Yun.
