Super Rich by Doing as You Please

The waiter’s mention of ”Yang Siqi’s boyfriend” left everyone completely dumbfounded.

Just a moment ago, they had asked her at the table, and she had clearly said she was single.

But now the waiter was telling them that the bill, which was for tens of thousands, had been paid by her boyfriend.

At that moment, a single thought popped into everyone’s mind:

This boyfriend of Yang Siqi’s was definitely a rich man.

Cheng Yi immediately thought of a certain man.

The young man who had been with Yang Siqi, the one who could make her own boss come downstairs to greet him personally.

Someone snapped out of it and teased Yang Siqi, ”Come on, Siqi, that’s no fun. Why be so secretive about having a boyfriend?”

”Yeah, afraid we’d try to steal him from you?”

”Is he still outside?”

Cheng Yi asked tentatively, ”Why don’t you invite him in and introduce us? We want to see this handsome guy for ourselves, and we should thank him properly.”

”Er...” To be honest, Yang Siqi was a little surprised herself.

She had just gone to pay for Xu Yun’s bill on her own initiative, but she never expected that he would pay for theirs in return—and even deliberately leave a message like that with the waiter.

’Boyfriend? Did he really say he was my boyfriend?’

’He probably just wanted to help me look good in front of my old classmates.’

Although Yang Siqi knew it wasn’t true, since he’d already said it, she had to play along.

”No, it’s not that I was trying to hide it from you all.”

Yang Siqi explained with a smile, ”I just bumped into him outside by chance. He happened to be eating here with his friends, too. I guess he just paid our bill on his way out.”

”A bill for tens of thousands, and he paid it just like that? Siqi, your boyfriend must be really rich, huh?”

”I guess he’s doing okay.”

Yang Siqi replied, ”To be honest, I’m not entirely sure.”

”You’re not sure about your own boyfriend?”

”I’ve never asked for specifics.”

Cheng Yi chimed in, ”You all probably don’t know this yet, but our Siqi here is a completely different person now.

She’s a big boss now, doing way better than a corporate drone like me.”

”Better than you?” The others were surprised.

After all, Yang Siqi hadn’t come to a class reunion in years, so nobody really knew what she was up to. But everyone knew about Cheng Yi.

Secretary to the general manager of a major corporation, with a seven-figure pre-tax annual salary!

So now, hearing Cheng Yi say that Yang Siqi was doing even better than her, how could they not be astonished?

”Really? Since when?”

Upon hearing this, everyone grew curious. ”Siqi, what industry are you in? If you get the chance, you should help us classmates get rich, too!”

”She’s in the fitness equipment business.”

Cheng Yi answered for her with a smile, ”I just saw her a week ago, right in my general manager’s office. I even made her a cup of tea. She signed a huge deal with our company worth several million.”

”WHOA!!!” Everyone was stunned all over again.

Most of them were just ordinary working-class people—some were civil servants, but still, a monthly salary of just over 10,000 yuan was considered good.

So, hearing that Yang Siqi was now a big boss, they were all overcome with a mix of envy, jealousy, and resentment.

”And that’s not all.”

Cheng Yi continued, ”I remember a guy came with her that day. He was handsome, but more importantly, he’s clearly someone important. Even my general manager was handling him with care.

Siqi, he wouldn’t happen to be your boyfriend, would he?”

”Talk about winning in both love and career!”

Hearing this, the others grew even more envious. ”You’ve really reached the pinnacle of life!”

The few single men who had still been harboring some hope regarding Yang Siqi immediately gave up the idea.

’How could we possibly compete with a guy like that?’

’No wonder she didn’t want to come to reunions before. Turns out she’s moving in high-society circles now, a world away from us.’

”Don’t listen to Cheng Yi. She’s just exaggerating.”

Yang Siqi said, ”I’m just running a small business. Before this, I was working from dawn till dusk and could barely make ends meet. My luck only turned this year, and I’ve just started to make a little money.

But you know how business is—sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad. You can never be sure. You all have it better with your stable jobs and no worries.

Especially you, Cheng Yi. A seven-figure annual salary is better than any business venture. I’m the one who should be envious.

Besides, you’re so beautiful and capable. If President Xi ever takes a liking to you, you could become a tycoon’s wife overnight, with a net worth in the hundreds of millions.”

”Sigh, don’t say another word. It’s too depressing.”

Someone else sighed, ”You two are the most successful ones in our class. If you have the chance in the future, lend your classmates a hand. For now, let’s move on to round two and hit the bars!”

”Yes, yes, let’s change the subject.”

Someone asked, ”Siqi, do you know any good bars?”

”To be honest, I rarely go out to places like that, so I wouldn’t know.”

Yang Siqi said, ”You guys pick a place. It’s my treat. Let’s all have a good time tonight.”

”No way. I was supposed to pay for dinner, but your boyfriend beat me to it. The second round is on me, no matter what.”

Cheng Yi said, a little smugly, ”Since Siqi doesn’t have a place in mind, I actually know a great bar. It’s the kind that isn’t open to the public—completely members-only, with a fantastic atmosphere.”

”Can people like us even get into a place like that?”

None of them had ever been to such a place, so their interest was immediately piqued. They were all eager to check it out.

”Normally, non-members can’t get in, of course. But I think I can manage.”

Cheng Yi explained, ”It’s because my boss owns it privately. It’s a place for him to entertain friends and relax.”
