Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Song Xiaowei didn’t know much about Xu Yun’s past. Even now, she had no idea what he actually did for a living or why he was so wealthy.

Before, she had assumed he was a second-generation rich kid, or maybe the son of a top government official.

But after visiting Xu Yun’s hometown last time and meeting his mother, she discovered that his family actually lived in a small county, in a small, rather modest house.

Although it was over 100 square meters, compared to Xu Yun’s mansion in Jiangcheng, it was only the size of his living room.

And his mother was so kind and approachable, just like an ordinary woman, without any noble air or overwhelming aura of wealth.

All of this felt jarring, completely out of proportion with the financial power Xu Yun displayed.

So Song Xiaowei could only wonder if his mother was a master of hiding in plain sight.

Now, hearing Xu Yun once again mention his past hardships, she mustered her courage and asked, ”Brother Xu, did you really have a hard life before?”

”Hard. I worked like an ox, and I was still broke.”

Xu Yun didn’t mind talking about his past at all. He smiled and said, ”I can tell you a story, and you’ll understand what my financial situation was like back then.”

”Go on,” Song Xiaowei said, her face full of curiosity.

”I used to go for foot massages with friends from work. Because I had no money, my friends would all extend their sessions in their private rooms, while I was the only one sitting in the lobby playing on my phone.”

Xu Yun said, ”At that moment, I even thought about calling the cops to get them all arrested. Isn’t that funny?”

”It’s not funny.”

Song Xiaowei suddenly grew quiet. Staring at him, she said, ”You must have been so sad back then, right?”

”You don’t think I’m making this up?”

”No.”

Song Xiaowei said, ”You told me a secret, so I’ll tell you a little secret of mine.”

”What secret?”

”Back when I was in high school, my monthly allowance was so small that even buying food was a struggle. One time, I was so broke I couldn’t even afford to buy sanitary pads.”

Song Xiaowei said, ”When I got my period, I secretly layered toilet paper down there to use as a pad.”

”...” Xu Yun was speechless.

’You really can’t compare yourself to others. Whether you’re comparing good fortunes or misfortunes, there’s always someone you can’t beat!’

After a brief silence, to break the mood, Xu Yun smiled, patted her hand, and declared grandly, ”Don’t worry, that’s all in the past. From now on, we’ll use the most expensive, highest-quality sanitary pads. We’ll use a pack and toss a pack, just because we can.”

”Hahaha!”

Song Xiaowei was instantly amused, and she laughed as she said, ”Okay, then you don’t have to go out for foot massages anymore. I’ll give them to you at home. You can extend the session as much as you want, for as long as you want.”

”Okay, it’s a deal.”

Xu Yun smiled and asked, ”In that case, may I ask Technician Song if I can add on an impromptu session after we finish breakfast?”

”Alright, but not for too long.”

And so, after finishing breakfast, the two of them had another impromptu session in the living room.

Xu Yun still held back a bit, not daring to go too far, as he couldn’t make her late for work in the afternoon.

By the time they finished, it was getting late in the morning.

Song Xiaowei got up, took a shower, and was about to head out when Xu Yun called out to her.

He handed her his car keys and said, ”Take this car and drive it. A rising star like you can’t be without a car. It just doesn’t look right.”

Song Xiaowei asked with concern, ”If you give the car to me, what will you do when you need to go out later?”

”Don’t you worry about me. I’m not short on cars.”

”Alright, then.”

Before leaving, Song Xiaowei turned back again and asked, ”Will you still be home tonight?”

”Probably not. I have other things to do.”

”Okay, I understand.”

Song Xiaowei nodded and smiled. ”Goodbye.”

”Goodbye.”

Not long after Song Xiaowei left, Xu Yun finally remembered his phone. He found it on the living room sofa, picked it up, and saw that he had more than a dozen missed calls from Xino from last night, as well as an invitation from Yang Siqi.

Xu Yun replied to Yang Siqi, telling her he had fallen asleep last night and hadn’t seen her message.

Then, he prepared to call Xino back.

She had helped him out last night, so he should at least show some appreciation and say a few nice things.

But before he could make the call, he suddenly received another WeChat message, this time from the blogger Xiaoteng.

[Young Master Xu, I’ve found the car you were looking for. I was wondering if you’re free to come take a look at it sometime soon and talk to the owner?]

’That was fast.’

’I was just worrying about not having a car to drive. This is perfect timing!’

[I have time. Where are you?]

Xiaoteng: [Here in Hang City.]

[Okay, I’ll head over this afternoon. I should get there by evening.]

Xiaoteng: [Sounds good, Young Master Xu. Send me a message when you arrive. I’ll come pick you up, and we can grab dinner together.]

[Okay.]

After making arrangements with Xiaoteng, Xu Yun remembered Xino and called her.

”Hey, what are you up to?”

”What else? Just bored at home, watching TV.”

Over the phone, Xino said poutingly, ”There’s no one to hang out with anyway, and you don’t even answer my calls.”

”Well then, get ready to go out. I’ll come pick you up and take you out somewhere fun.”

”Go out somewhere fun?”

Xino’s eyes lit up instantly. She asked, ”Just the two of us?”

”Mhm.”

”Where are we going?”

”Hang City.”

”Okay, I’ll go get ready right now.”

After hanging up, Xu Yun first used an app on his phone to book a private car to the airport, then washed the breakfast bowls on the table before leaving.

When he got downstairs, the car had just arrived.

”Driver, before we go to the airport, please make a stop at the villa district in East Lake.”

”Yes, sir.”

「Meanwhile.」

A delighted Xino practically flew to her bedroom and started packing her bags.

Seeing this, Cheng Yuelan quickly said, ”Slow down! Your arm just got better today. Don’t fall and hurt it again.”
