Super Rich by Doing as You Please

”It’s all right.”

A moment later, she saw her daughter dragging a suitcase and asked in confusion, ”Are you going somewhere?”

”Yeah, Xu Yun just called. He’s taking me to Hang City for a bit.”

”To Hang City?”

Cheng Yuelan asked, ”For how many days?”

”I don’t know, he didn’t say.”

”Then wait a moment.”

After speaking, Cheng Yuelan went to a cabinet, took out a key, and handed it to her. ”This is for the villa I bought in Hang City. Don’t stay in a hotel when you get there. Just stay at our place.”

”Okay, thank you, Mom.”

Xino happily took the key and said, ”Don’t miss me too much after I’m gone, okay?”

”All right, all right.”

Cheng Yuelan smiled. ”You two be safe on the road. Have fun, and don’t be in a rush to come back.”

”I will! Bye, Mom!”

Cheng Yuelan watched her daughter run out the door and smiled dotingly.

’People in love are really different. Her whole Essence, Qi, and Spirit radiated a sweetness that was plain to see.’

Though she had only met Xu Yun once, she was one hundred percent satisfied with her future son-in-law.

Previously, she’d thought giving him a watch worth several million was too extravagant. But that very evening, she heard from her husband that the tea Xu Yun had brought as a gift was worth at least ten million.

This once again showed her how magnanimous Xu Yun was.

And based on this point alone, he definitely wasn’t dating her daughter for their family’s money!

And relationships untainted by money are often the purest and cleanest.

Actually, Cheng Yuelan’s line of thinking wasn’t wrong.

Among the women in Xu Yun’s life, Xino and Chen Xin were truly the only two who had no financial entanglements with him.

Of course, one point couldn’t be ruled out.

He was able to attract them and make them like him precisely because he had money.

Money made him charming. It allowed him to be romantic and possess many advantages that other regular joes could never have.

Love can exist without money, but a love that has no money is absolutely impossible!

It’s true that when poverty comes in at the door, love flies out of the window. Most conflicts ultimately boil down to not having money, or not having enough of it.

Of course, rich couples have their own ”spiritual” conflicts as well.

But relatively speaking, most of them are happier than impoverished couples!

Xu Yun was very clear on this point.

Arriving outside the Donghu Villa District, he saw Xino waiting for him on the side of the road with her suitcase.

Today, both her hands were free.

After she got in the car, Xu Yun asked curiously, ”Is your arm all better?”

”If the doctor hadn’t insisted, I would’ve taken this cast off ages ago.”

Xino tried waving her right hand and smiled. ”See? No problem at all now.”

”It just healed. You should still be careful not to use too much force.”

”Mhm, I know.”

Xino asked happily, ”Why the sudden idea to take me to Hang City?”

”I’m going there to look at a car, so I figured I’d ask you to come along and hang out for a few days.”

Xu Yun said, ”I’ve never been there either, so we can treat it as a vacation.”

”Buying a car? You’re going all the way to Hang City?”

Xino said, ”What kind of car are you buying that you have to go so far? Don’t they have it in Jiangcheng?”

”It’s very rare in the country. This seems to be the only one that’s nearly new.”

Xu Yun said, ”I had someone looking for a long time to find it. I don’t even know if the owner is willing to sell yet. I still have to go negotiate with them.”

”What car is it? That rare? How much is it?”

Xu Yun replied nonchalantly, ”An Aston Martin Valkyrie. It’ll probably be over ten million, I guess.”

The hired driver in the front seat listened to their conversation, his heart filled with envy.

He was a car enthusiast himself and often watched test-drive videos of various sports cars.

Alas, he just couldn’t afford one.

Now, hearing that Xu Yun was going to buy a Valkyrie, he finally couldn’t help but chime in, ”Sir, are you going to buy the Valkyrie that was recently shown at the Hang City auto show?”

”I’m not sure.”

Xu Yun replied, ”It’s possible.”

Xino asked with a smile, ”Sir, you know about this car?”

”Yeah, I just saw online that an upgraded version of the Valkyrie appeared at the Hang City auto show. It’s beautiful.”

When it came to cars, the driver seemed quite knowledgeable, speaking with great enthusiasm. ”This hypercar is unlike any other model on the road. It looks like something out of a sci-fi movie, and production is limited to just 25 units. The Valkyrie is configured with a 6.5-liter V12 engine developed by Cosworth that revs up to 11,000 RPM and produces about 1,000 horsepower. Not only that, but it also uses an F1-style KERS boost system, adding another 160 horsepower for a total output of 1,140 horsepower. The hybrid powertrain generates 664 pound-feet of torque. Online reviews claim it can go from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour in 2.5 seconds, with a top speed far exceeding 320 km/h.”

”It sounds like you really like this car, sir.”

Xu Yun laughed. ”I don’t know as much as you do. I’m not clear on any of its specs. I just saw a picture of it online, thought it was pretty, and decided I wanted to buy one.”

”I’m not like you, sir. You can just buy something if you like the look of it.”

The driver said awkwardly, ”Ordinary people like us can only feast our eyes on it and daydream. We could never afford it in this lifetime.”

”My fate is my own to decide, not for the heavens to dictate. Don’t be so pessimistic. Anything is possible.”

Xu Yun comforted him, ”A few months ago, I never thought I’d be able to afford a car like this either. But sometimes, fate is a strange thing. When it comes, it comes.”

”Huh?”

The driver asked, confused, ”Sir, did you win the lottery? Or did your property get demolished for a huge payout?”

”Something like that.”

The driver was speechless.

「Half an hour later.」

The driver dropped them off at the airport.

Xu Yun gave him a five-star rating. It was the only thing he could do for him.

He and Xino then went into the airport, bought tickets for the next flight to Hangzhou at the ticketing counter, and went to the VIP lounge to wait for their flight.

Xino hadn’t eaten much at home and was a bit hungry, so she started digging in.

After all, everything here was free.

While Xino was enjoying herself like a little foodie, Xu Yun was surprised to spot a man not far from him, wearing a mask, who looked a lot like the male singer Xu Song.

He was using the spare time before boarding to continuously take CDs from his assistant and sign them.

It looked like they were gifts for fans for an upcoming event.

Xu Yun remembered the promise he had made to Song Xiaowei: to have Xu Song sing for her in person.

Without any hesitation, he walked over to greet him.

Although Xu Song’s assistant saw Xu Yun approaching, he didn’t immediately try to stop him.

The guests resting here weren’t like the ordinary, crazed fans outside, so there was no need to be overly concerned.

”Hello, Mr. Xu.”

Xu Yun said with a smile, ”It’s a pleasure to meet you here.”

”???”

Xu Song looked at the stranger before him, a bit puzzled. ”Excuse me, have we met before?”

”I know you, but you don’t know me.”

Xu Yun sat down next to him and explained, ”My name is Xu Yun. I have a friend who happens to be a big fan of yours. Could you give me one of your signed CDs?”

Faced with the request for a signed CD, Xu Song studied Xu Yun for a moment before agreeing. He reached out and handed him one.

”Thanks...”

After taking the signed CD, Xu Yun didn’t leave right away. Instead, he continued, ”May I ask, are you on your way to an event?”

”I’m sorry, sir.”

The assistant immediately stepped forward and interrupted, ”We can’t disclose our artist’s schedule.”

”I don’t mean anything by it.”

Xu Yun said with a smile, ”I just wanted to ask when you might be available. I’d like to book you for a commercial performance.”

”For business performances, you can communicate with my management agency.”

Xu Song said politely, ”I don’t remember my exact schedule very clearly myself.”

”Alright, I understand.”

Xu Yun looked at the assistant and said, ”Could you give me your agency’s phone number, or a business card?”

”Of course.”

After politely handing Xu Yun a company business card, the assistant led Xu Song to another lounge next door.

’They must be afraid I’ll keep pestering them.’

”Xu Yun, why did you wander off over here without telling me?”

Just then, Xino, having finished her food, came looking for him.

She looked at the back of Xu Song, who was just leaving with his mask on, and asked, ”Was that...?”

Xu Yun replied, ”The singer, Xu Song.”

”Oh, I know him.”

Xino paused for a second, then replied, ”My little sister says purple has a certain charm, right?”

Xu Yun was speechless.
