Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 147: Chapter 109: I Don’t Mind! As Long as You’re Willing, I’m Okay with Anything

This way, their relationship might become much closer.

Once the relationship was closer, she would have the chance to introduce him to financial products or wealth management services.

After hanging up on Xu Yun, Cai Shiwei began to leverage all the social resources the bank had at its disposal, making one call after another...

She was representing the bank, not just herself.

A great machine of capital began to turn late into the night, surging toward Huaxi to achieve its goal.

A society built on personal connections is, by its very nature, a vast network of relationships; no one exists in isolation.

There are always a thousand and one threads connecting people.

As long as you can find the right thread, you can accomplish whatever you want!

Finally, after working until past three in the morning, Cai Shiwei received a reply. Everything was taken care of. The time was set for 3 p.m. tomorrow!

They had managed to get the specialist to squeeze them in!

”YES!” Cai Shiwei allowed herself a small moment of triumph.

Booking an appointment with a specialist at Huaxi wasn’t actually that difficult for the bank.

The difficult part was getting the specialist to add an urgent, last-minute appointment—the kind that let you cut the line.

Getting that kind of appointment wasn’t as simple as just showing up with a tribute and expecting to find the right temple.

You needed someone to lead the way, someone to put in a good word for you.

After all, who goes to West China Hospital for a specialist appointment if it isn’t a matter of life and death?

This was also why Cai Shiwei hadn’t dared to promise Xu Yun anything at first. She hadn’t been confident, only willing to try.

Fortunately, her luck was good, and she had actually pulled it off.

But seeing how late it was, she wasn’t sure if she should call Xu Yun to tell him the news.

After some hesitation, she decided to try calling him anyway.

After a few rings, Xu Yun’s sleepy voice came through.

”Hello.”

”Mr. Xu, hello. My apologies for disturbing your rest.”

Cai Shiwei said with a smile, ”We’ve already made the arrangements with West China Hospital for you. The appointment is for 3 p.m. tomorrow. I’m not sure if that’s too short notice for you.”

”It’s scheduled?” Hearing this, Xu Yun instantly became more alert.

”Yes. Barring any surprises, that’s the plan.”

Xu Yun glanced at the time—it was nearly 4 a.m. He asked, puzzled, ”You stayed up all night for this?”

”I knew you were in a hurry, Mr. Xu. Illness waits for no one. I couldn’t have slept without getting this settled for you.”

Xu Yun felt a sense of admiration for service professionals like her. He asked, ”What’s your name?”

He’d only saved the service number before, not her name.

”Mr. Xu, my name is Cai Shiwei.”

The woman replied, ”You can just call me Xiaocai.”

”Manager Cai, thank you for all your hard work.”

Xu Yun said, ”We should get a meal together sometime when there’s a chance. My treat.”

”I would be honored.”

Cai Shiwei said with a smile, ”Because the appointment is on such short notice, I suggest you start arranging for the hospital transfer now, Mr. Xu.”

”If the current hospital gives you any trouble, please let me know. Our bank has some connections with the local hospitals.”

”Alright, we’ll see when the time comes.”

After hanging up, Xu Yun didn’t go back to sleep. After all, it was a matter of life and death.

He immediately called Jiang Peiyao.

Jiang Peiyao had been suffering from insomnia, but today, after drinking and indulging herself with Xu Yun in the car, she had actually fallen asleep.

But it was a light sleep.

The moment the phone rang, she was startled awake.

Seeing the late-night call from Xu Yun, her heart began to race. It was as if she already knew what he was going to say.

She was almost too afraid to answer.

She was afraid of hearing bad news, of her last hope being completely shattered.

But at the same time, she was desperate for good news.

Finally, she took a deep breath and answered the call.

”Hello, Xu Yun.”

”Get up, get ready, and come downstairs. I’m coming to pick you up. We’re going straight to the hospital.”

Xu Yun spoke quickly, ”Time is tight. If you have questions, I’ll explain in the car.”

”Okay, I understand.”

Although she didn’t know what was happening, Jiang Peiyao quickly got out of bed, washed up, got dressed, and went straight downstairs to wait for him.

A short while later, a white Bentley emerged from the darkness.

Like a ray of light.

”Get in,” Xu Yun called out, rolling down the window.

After Jiang Peiyao got in the car, before she could even ask what was going on, Xu Yun began to explain as he drove.

”I’ve already contacted West China Hospital. I’ve scheduled a specialist consultation for your brother at 3 p.m. tomorrow. It’s a tight schedule, so we need to get to the hospital and arrange the transfer as soon as possible, or we won’t make it.”

”Ah?”

Hearing this sudden good news, Jiang Peiyao was stunned!

He’d succeeded!

Xu Yun had actually managed to schedule an appointment with the hospital—and a specialist consultation, no less!

In an instant, her eyes reddened with emotion.

Even her brother’s own attending physician had told her it was practically impossible to contact the other hospital, book a specialist for surgery, and save his life in such a short amount of time.

He had even told her to prepare for the worst.

Even when she had begged Xu Yun for help, she had prepared herself for the worst, treating it as a desperate, last-ditch effort.

But Xu Yun... he had done it.

In just five hours, he had delivered a miracle, like that beam of light in the darkness, bringing her hope once again.

At that moment, watching the man beside her focused on driving, she had no idea how to express her gratitude.

”Don’t cry.”

Xu Yun said, ”Booking the appointment is just the first step. We still have a lot to do. Get your emotions in check.”
