Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 140: Chapter 107: Despicable Woman, Your Hopes Are Doomed to Fail

In an instant, only two people were left in the house.

Xu Yun casually walked over, positioned himself beside Su Mu, and pinned her underneath him. He chuckled and said, ”Who was it that said they were going to call someone to fix the water heater? You actually dared to threaten me.”

”So you do know what it feels like to be scared.”

Su Mu didn’t resist, letting him press down on her. ”If you hadn’t come back,” she said, ”I really might have found someone else.”

”Alright, alright. To think you’d dare threaten me.”

Xu Yun’s hands immediately started roaming. ”I’m going to teach you a lesson today,” he said fiercely.

”Alright, don’t strain yourself.”

Su Mu caught the scent of another woman on Xu Yun. ”You snuck out this afternoon for a round of fun,” she said. ”Do you still have any energy left?”

”(⊙o⊙)...”

Xu Yun didn’t know how Su Mu knew his whereabouts so clearly, but from the looks of it, she wasn’t the least bit jealous—not like Li Jinshu.

He asked curiously, ”Since you already know, why are you so calm? Aren’t you angry?”

”What right do I have to be angry?”

Su Mu said, ”What’s the difference between you sleeping with someone else and you sleeping with me? If I were to look down on her, wouldn’t I just be looking down on myself?”

”You know, if you lived in ancient times, you’d have the perfect persona for a principal wife.”

Xu Yun shook his head. ”So magnanimous!”

”Am I?”

Xu Yun looked down. ”Very.”

”Hurry up, let’s get this over with.”

Su Mu’s body was already starting to feel weak. She whispered, ”Otherwise, they’ll be back soon.”

”I’ll try my best...”

Half an hour later, the two of them quickly finished their battle.

Since Su Mu was wearing a skirt, which was more convenient, tidying up wasn’t complicated.

”Thank you.”

Just as the two were enjoying the afterglow, the digital lock on the door suddenly beeped. They immediately straightened up into proper sitting positions.

Seeing the two return home, Su Mu stood up and said with a smile, ”How much did you two buy? What took you so long?”

”Not that much.”

Li Jinshu said, ”The main reason is that we ran into Zhao Xianhong at the entrance to the complex downstairs. He wanted to come in but couldn’t, and when he called you, you didn’t pick up. So he just cornered me there.”

”Er...” Su Mu glanced at her phone and saw that she did, in fact, have a few missed calls.

She had been busy with important business earlier and hadn’t heard it ring.

Meanwhile, Xu Yun felt it was a bit of a shame.

He thought, ’Wouldn’t it have been thrilling if Su Mu had answered her ex-husband’s call while they were in the middle of things?’

’I’ll have to find a chance to try it next time,’ he mused. ’I just don’t know if Su Mu would agree.’

Su Mu asked Li Jinshu, ”What did he say to you?”

”It was just one thing.”

Li Jinshu said, ”He’s in a miserable state. He’s already lost his job at the bank, and he’s begging you to let him off the hook. He wants you to talk to Xu Yun and tell him to drop the lawsuit.”

”He’s that miserable, huh.”

Xu Yun asked in confusion, ”I thought Vice Governor Gao just had him transferred to a different position, not fired.”

”That was me,”

Su Mu explained. ”The other day I ran into him at the bank, and I told them directly that as long as he worked there, I’d take my money to another bank. I didn’t expect them to actually fire him. Serves him right.”

It turned out that due to recent policy changes, bank employees’ incomes had plummeted. On top of that, everyone was under immense pressure to bring in deposits, on the order of millions.

So, when faced with Su Mu’s soft threat, the bank manager didn’t even hesitate before forcing his resignation.

He had been brought in on a special contract in the first place.

It wouldn’t have been a big deal if this one bank let him go; he could always find another financial institution.

However, during the background checks for his interviews, many companies and banks learned he was involved in an ongoing lawsuit and were unwilling to hire him, fearing the risk.

This left him unemployed and unable to find a suitable job.

Left with no other choice, he had come to find Su Mu, hoping she would persuade Xu Yun to stop pursuing the lawsuit against him.

As long as Xu Yun told his law firm to stand down, he would agree to any condition.

Li Jinshu relayed this message to Su Mu and Xu Yun.

After hearing this, Xu Yun said to Su Mu, ”You call the shots on your ex-husband. Whatever you want to do is fine. I don’t care either way; I was just doing this to stand up for you.”

Then, he looked at Chen Xin and said, ”Let’s go. We’re heading back to our place.”

”Oh.”

Watching Xu Yun and Chen Xin leave without him saying a word to her, Li Jinshu’s mood sank to rock bottom.

But in front of Su Mu, she still pretended that everything was fine.

Su Mu noticed something was off.

She hadn’t realized how much Li Jinshu cared about Xu Yun’s attitude. She said comfortingly, ”Don’t worry. After you left, I spoke with him. He’s not mad at you anymore. Things will be fine by tomorrow.”

”Really?”

”Of course, it’s true.”

”But he didn’t say a single word to me before he left.”

”Alright, don’t dwell on it.”

Su Mu stood up. ”Get some sleep. I’m going to take a shower and go to bed.”

”...”

Just then, Chen Xin, who had left and now returned, suddenly knocked on their door.

It turned out she was helping Xu Yun deliver the gifts he had brought for them—Hermes bags for both.

Li Jinshu accepted it with a smile, said thank you, and casually asked, ”What’s Xu Yun doing?”

”Watching TV.”

Seeing that Li Jinshu was alone, Chen Xin hesitated for a moment before saying, ”Sister Jinshu, Xu Yun’s attitude earlier might have been a little off because of me. I’d like to apologize to you on his behalf. Please don’t be mad at him anymore.”

”Huh? I’m not mad at him.”

Li Jinshu was frustrated. ’He’s the one who’s mad at me!’

”That’s good, then.”

Chen Xin smiled and said, ”You know how men are. Sometimes they’re not the sharpest. Please take good care of him in his daily life from now on. On behalf of Aunt Zhang, I thank you.”

”...” Li Jinshu was speechless.

She watched Chen Xin finish speaking, turn, and run into the room next door, and for a moment, she was at a complete loss for words.

’This woman actually came to apologize to me on Xu Yun’s behalf!’

...

The night was quiet. After Xu Yun and Chen Xin returned, they watched some TV together before heading to their separate rooms to sleep.

Meanwhile, after half an hour of high-intensity exercise, Su Mu had taken a shower, looked at the gift Xu Yun had given her, and fallen asleep the moment her head hit the pillow.

One had to admit, the quality of sleep after a workout was truly excellent.

She slept soundly and deeply.

So deeply that she was completely unaware when an insomniac Li Jinshu next door secretly got up in the middle of the night and snuck out.

Taking an immense risk, Li Jinshu, dressed in sexy sleepwear, carefully keyed the code into the lock on Xu Yun’s door.

”BZZT~”

As the electronic bolt turned, the door opened.

Li Jinshu slipped inside under the cover of darkness and gently closed the door behind her.

Guided by the moonlight from the window and her familiarity with the layout, she made her way step by step to Xu Yun’s bedroom door.

Taking a deep breath, Li Jinshu gripped the handle and turned it softly.

The door opened again. She glanced back at the other bedroom not far away, and only after seeing no movement did she relax and step inside.

She locked the door.

The moment she shut it, Xu Yun’s voice rang out.

”What, sneaking in here in the middle of the night? Are you trying to kill me?”

Ever since he started practicing the Eight Pieces of Brocade, Xu Yun found that not only had he become mighty and unyielding, but his five senses had also sharpened considerably.

In a house this large, he had heard it the first moment Li Jinshu keyed in the code.

At first, he thought it was a burglar, but then he realized that was impossible.

It had to be that woman, Li Jinshu.

He couldn’t help but chuckle.

’She’s got some nerve, coming here even when there’s someone else in her own apartment!’

So he lay in wait in his bedroom, patiently awaiting her arrival.

Sure enough, a few minutes later, Li Jinshu snuck into his bedroom.

Li Jinshu was surprised to find Xu Yun still awake. ”How are you still up?” she asked.

”If I were asleep, who would be waiting for you?”

”You knew I was coming?”

”No, I guessed.”

Xu Yun lied. ”I was planning to wait another three minutes before going to sleep.”

”What were you waiting for me for?”

”For you to come and apologize to me.”

Xu Yun couldn’t help but chuckle softly. ”What, you’re not here to apologize to me?”

”Of course not! All you know is how to bully me.”

Feeling wronged, Li Jinshu lunged at him, hitting him as she sobbed and cursed under her breath, ”I came here to kill you! To kill you!”

”No—”

Xu Yun feigned panic. ”If you’re going to kill me, then kill me! Why are you pulling my pants off?!”

”None of your business.”

Li Jinshu said, ”You hate me anyway, so I’ll do whatever I want.”

”...” Xu Yun was speechless.

Tonight, Li Jinshu was wild.

Xu Yun had never imagined that a woman, once let loose, could be so terrifying.

She simply wouldn’t let him rest.

She hadn’t been lying. She really was here to kill him.

But her method of killing was unique. She wanted him to die from exhaustion!

Heh~

’You despicable woman, your hopes are doomed to fail!’

’I, Zhao Zilong of Changshan, may have lost once to the Great Demon Su, but I will absolutely not lose to you a second time!’

’Come, let’s fight to our heart’s content!’
