Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 109: Chapter 96: Will He Really Be as Handsome as His Photo?

The two ran into each other.

Su Mu had no intention of acknowledging him, but he called out to her.

”Su Mu!”

Zhao Xianhong suppressed his anger. ”We were supposed to have an amicable split. Why did you have Xu Yun come and cause trouble for me over and over again?”

”Are you mistaken?”

Su Mu turned to face him and said contemptuously, ”A useless piece of trash like you? I haven’t given you a second thought.”

”Nice words. Stop pretending.”

Zhao Xianhong said, ”Didn’t you tell him I work here? That’s how he found this place, and then he used his status as a major client to have a word with the vice president and get me transferred to the wealth management department, didn’t he?”

Hearing this, Tan Dan, who was standing nearby, instantly understood why she and Zhao Xianhong had suddenly switched positions.

’So that’s what happened!’

”He really did that?”

Su Mu was a little surprised. ”I didn’t realize he was that influential.”

”...” Zhao Xianhong was speechless.

Su Mu sneered. ”Well, let me tell you something else. Xu Yun’s company is under my management now. I call the shots. In other words, I’m also one of your bank’s major clients.”

”What are you trying to say?”

Facing Su Mu, Zhao Xianhong tried to put on a tough front, ready to say something like, ’You think I’m afraid of you?’

But Su Mu’s next words sent a chill down his spine.

”I’m a woman, and I can be very petty.”

Su Mu turned to the nearby Tan Dan. ”Manager Tan, I think your bank has some serious personnel issues. I’m wondering if I should just persuade Xu Yun to take his business elsewhere.”

”!!!”

Tan Dan’s heart skipped a beat.

She had just seen with her own eyes how close Xu Yun and Su Mu were.

Even if she wasn’t the legal owner or the official boss, she could probably make it happen.

’I just got transferred here. If I lose a major client right off the bat, I’ll be skinned alive, even if it doesn’t kill me.’

She shot Zhao Xianhong a resentful glare.

’You’re not the business department manager anymore, so you think you can act recklessly and cause trouble for me, is that it?’

”Miss Su, please don’t.”

Tan Dan immediately stepped forward to placate her. ”Let’s talk this through. I’ll relay your concerns to our bank president.”

”Then I’ll be waiting for good news.”

With that, Su Mu turned and walked away.

She was essentially borrowing Xu Yun’s power to throw her own weight around—a classic case of the fox borrowing the tiger’s might—just to scare them.

”Manager Zhao, why on earth would you provoke a major client?”

Tan Dan had never liked Zhao Xianhong’s behavior. All he ever did at the bank was suck up to his superiors and bully his subordinates.

She feigned a sigh. ”Now that Miss Su has spoken, my hands are tied. I have no choice but to report this to the president exactly as it happened.”

Zhao Xianhong was speechless.

After Su Mu left, she reflected on the situation. She hadn’t expected the Manager Zhao whom Xu Yun had asked about to be her ex-husband, Zhao Xianhong.

And Xu Yun had opened his company account at the very bank where her ex-husband worked.

’Is this a coincidence?’

’Or did he look into it and do this on purpose?’

’If it was on purpose, then Zhao Xianhong is in for a world of hurt. Xu Yun is relentlessly tormenting him.’

’Xu Yun has no beef with him, so he must be targeting him because of me.’

’Is he... jealous of my ex-husband?’

”How childish!” The thought made Su Mu break into a happy smile.

...

After leaving the bank, Xu Yun stopped by a brand-name sports store and bought a set of workout clothes.

He also picked up the other items Zhang Jiaxin had mentioned the day before.

He then drove back to his residential complex, slung his gym bag over his shoulder, and walked to the nearby fitness center.

As soon as he reached the front desk, the receptionist, Wang Sisi, saw him and immediately became enthusiastic and deferential.

Before, she hadn’t known who Xu Yun was. Now that she did, her attitude had naturally changed.

In her eyes, Xu Yun was a walking pile of cash. If she could just please him, maybe he’d take a liking to her on a whim.

’A girl can dream, can’t she?’

Wang Sisi smiled. ”Mr. Xu, you’re here!”

”Yeah.”

Xu Yun nodded. ”Could you please get Coach Zhang Jiaxin for me?”

”Zhang Jiaxin seems to be busy right now. She’s in the yoga studio on the third floor teaching a client. She probably won’t be done for another half hour.”

Wang Sisi offered, ”How about I take you up to the lounge on the fourth floor? You can have some tea while you wait for her.”

”No thanks. I’ll just go up and get started on my own.”

Xu Yun added, ”Just tell her I’m here and that I’ll be waiting for her on the second floor.”

”Of course, Mr. Xu.”

After Xu Yun left, Wang Sisi immediately grabbed her walkie-talkie and called for Sun Yi.

”Sun Yi, Handsome Xu is here today! He’s already gone up to the equipment area on the second floor.”

”Okay, I got it. Thanks, Sisi.”

Upon hearing this, Sun Yi, who was in the middle of teaching a class in the aerobics area, immediately slipped away. She ran to the locker room and changed into the sexy workout top and yoga pants she had bought just the day before.

A moment later, she emerged looking sultry and headed for the second floor.

Since it was a weekday afternoon, there were actually more women at the gym than men.

Most of them were young, married women who, after dropping their kids off at school and seeing their husbands off to work, came here to work out in their free time.

It was partly to kill time and partly to maintain their figures.

However, it was inevitable that some unfaithful women would use the gym to hook up with other male clients.

Some even got intimately involved with their male trainers.

You couldn’t say it was love. It was purely a search for novelty and excitement.

Just as men will always have a thing for eighteen-year-old girls, rich women will always have a thing for young, brawny ”puppy dogs.”

So, the moment Xu Yun appeared, several women in the vicinity took notice of him.

Mainly because he was so handsome.

However, before they could make a move and approach him, Sun Yi beat them to it.

Dressed in her revealing outfit, Sun Yi sashayed over to Xu Yun, her every step a deliberate display of seduction.

Seeing this, the other women scorned her in their hearts.

Sun Yi smiled. ”Brother Xu, you’re here so early today!”

”Yeah.”

Xu Yun glanced at her. ’Damn,’ he thought. ’She’s definitely aiming those weapons at me.’

”Jiaxin is still upstairs teaching yoga,” Sun Yi said.

”Brother Xu, I’m free right now. How about I help you with your workout?”

”That works.”

Now that he had money, Xu Yun didn’t actually mind gold diggers.

’If women didn’t worship money, more than half his fun would disappear.’

Following the two sets of exercises Zhang Jiaxin had taught him, Xu Yun got on a machine and lay down to begin his workout.

Sun Yi stood beside him, explaining the techniques and occasionally leaning over to offer some hands-on guidance.

Every time she bent down, her chest would ”accidentally” brush against his arm or some other part of his body.

She was also quick to offer words of encouragement and concern.

”Brother Xu, your form is perfect!”

”Brother Xu, is this really your first time working out?”

”Oh, Brother Xu, you’re sweating. Let me wipe it for you.”

”Brother Xu, you must be tired. Here, have some water to re-energize.”

Occasionally, when Xu Yun was struggling to finish a rep, she would be right there, encouraging him softly.

”Come on, Brother Xu! Just one more! You’re the best!”

Although Sun Yi’s tone was cloyingly sweet and manipulative, it had to be said that the attention still felt rather pleasant.

”I thought you didn’t teach on the machines,” Xu Yun said after working out for a bit. He decided to take a break and wait for Zhang Jiaxin.

He took a sip from the water she handed him. ”I thought you taught swimming on the first floor.”

”I’m surprised you remember so clearly, Brother Xu.”

Sun Yi smiled. ”Actually, us coaches know a little bit of everything. We don’t just specialize in one thing.”

”Oh.”

”But Brother Xu, if you want to work on your abs, swimming is actually very effective too.”

”Is that so?”

”Of course.”

Gold digger or not, Sun Yi still possessed a degree of professional knowledge.

She explained, ”Swimming is actually a very balanced form of exercise. It’s more comfortable than lifting weights, and if you combine it with your machine workouts, it’ll make your physique more symmetrical and give you better-defined lines.”

”Alright, I’ll think about it.”

’It wasn’t just about the workout,’ Xu Yun thought. ’The main thing is, I actually don’t know how to swim. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to learn.’

’What if I fall into a river someday? Or what if I get a pool at my own place later and want to throw a pool party? It’d be so embarrassing not knowing how to swim.’

Hearing this, Sun Yi was secretly overjoyed.

Just as she was about to press her advantage, Zhang Jiaxin came downstairs, finished with her yoga class.

”Jiaxin, you’re done with your class?”

Sun Yi put on a good-sister act. ”Brother Xu came a little while ago. Since you weren’t here, I helped him get started on his workout.”

”Thanks.”

”No problem.”

Then Sun Yi turned to Xu Yun and said pointedly, ”Well, Brother Xu, I’ll get going then. If you make up your mind, remember to look for me. I’ll give you a discount.”

”Alright.”

After Sun Yi left, Zhang Jiaxin immediately asked, ”Brother Xu, what did you two agree on?”

”Oh, she suggested I consider taking swimming lessons with her.”

”Swimming?”

Zhang Jiaxin asked, ”Brother Xu, you want to learn how to swim?”

”Yeah. Figured I should learn, just in case my mom and my girlfriend fall into the water someday and I can’t save either of them.”

Xu Yun asked, ”Do you know how? If you do, I’ll learn from you.”

”Uh, I know a little,” Zhang Jiaxin said, a bit embarrassed, ”but I’m probably not good enough to teach someone.”

’Damn it,’ she thought. ’I can’t believe Sun Yi exploited my weakness.’

”It’s fine.”

Xu Yun smiled. ”I didn’t realize you also taught yoga. How about this? I’ll introduce some clients to you when I get the chance.”

”Thank you, Brother Xu.”

Zhang Jiaxin said, ”I’m going to go change first, then I’ll come back and guide you through your workout.”

”Sounds good.”

...

「Jiangcheng North Station」

Chen Xin emerged from the station exit.

She was wearing an off-white maxi dress and pulling a suitcase as she made her way to the side of the road.

After waiting a few minutes, she finally hailed an empty taxi and gave the driver an unfamiliar address.

It was the address of Xu Yun’s old apartment. Aunt Zhang had sent it to her before leaving, telling her to find her son after arriving in Jiangcheng and stay with him.

At first, she had been reluctant.

After all, it was a bit awkward for a young woman to live with a man.

But she couldn’t hold out against Aunt Zhang’s persistent coaxing. After a thorough analysis of all the pros and cons, she was successfully convinced by Zhang Sujuan.

The gist of the argument was: ’My son is a perfect gentleman, very reliable, so don’t be afraid. It’s much cleaner and safer than a hotel.’

The most important point of all was that he could also act as her tour guide and show her around Jiangcheng for a few days.

She had been writing novels at home for a year when one day, while scrolling through TikTok, she came across a travel video that instantly captivated her. She decided she should get out and explore too.

She didn’t dare travel too far by herself.

Having been a shut-in writing novels ever since graduation, she didn’t have many real-life friends.

After mulling it over, she decided to visit Jiangcheng.

And while she was there, she would meet this Xu Yun fellow.

Chen Xin knew exactly what Aunt Zhang’s little scheme was.

Back home, she had listened to Aunt Zhang talk endlessly about her son. She couldn’t help but feel a little curious about this guy named Xu Yun.

’What does he look like?’

’What kind of person is he?’

’Is he really as handsome as he looks in his photos?’

Filled with this mix of anticipation and apprehension, Chen Xin watched the scenery fly by outside the car window until, with a sudden brake from the driver, she arrived at her destination.

Chen Xin paid by scanning a QR code, got out, and dragged her suitcase through the practically nonexistent security gate. Following the address, she arrived at the door of apartment 7-25-3.

She took a deep breath, pushed the glasses up the bridge of her nose, and reached out to gently press the doorbell.

DING-DONG! DING-DONG! DING-DONG!
