Chapter 135: Chapter 106: Shut Up, I’m a Decent Man

”President Liang, is it?”

Su Mu said calmly, ”Don’t try to use Xu Yun to pressure me. Since he put me in charge of this, the decision is mine. If I say we invest, we invest. If I say we don’t, we don’t. Understand?”

Liang Yan was speechless.

Su Mu took a sip of her coffee. ”Alright, why don’t you start by telling me the specifics? What kind of business is it?”

’Hmph, all she did was get into bed with Xu Yun.’

’Who does she think she is, acting so high and mighty!’

But right now, for the money, she had to endure it.

”President Su, it’s like this.”

Liang Yan said with a smile, ”I recently invested in filming a short-form video drama, and I’m hoping to break into that market. However, my funds are a bit tight at the moment, so I was hoping to partner with you, President Su, to raise five million. When we make a profit, we’ll split it fifty-fifty.”

”Five million, huh.”

’Although on the surface he said the company was mine to manage, he’s still ultimately the boss. He might not care about five million, but as an ’employee,’ I can’t afford to be so careless.’

Su Mu said, ”Alright. First, tell me about your ideas for this drama and your feasibility plan. What makes you think you’ll turn a profit?”

”First of all, if you look at the current social media market...”

President Liang began to explain her initial idea, why she was optimistic about this market, her target audience, and the potential for profitability.

She was clearly well-prepared for this pitch, and she delivered it very professionally.

Su Mu also listened very attentively.

Finally, Liang Yan concluded, ”So, that’s the basic idea. What do you think, President Su?”

”Okay, President Liang, I have a general understanding now.”

Su Mu didn’t give an immediate answer. Instead, she said, ”I’ll think it over when I get back and give you an answer tomorrow.”

”Of course, President Su.”

With their business concluded, the two of them stood up and left the coffee shop. As they reached the door, Su Mu suddenly turned and asked, ”President Liang, may I ask you a rather personal question?”

”Go ahead, President Su.”

”Have you slept with Xu Yun?”

President Liang froze for a moment before replying, ”No. Why do you ask, President Su?”

”No reason. I just wanted to give you a little reminder.”

Su Mu couldn’t read the answer she was looking for on Liang Yan’s face. She said lightly, ”Xu Yun is a great guy in every way, but he likes to play around. Don’t think that just because you can climb into his bed, you can become his woman.”

”Heh.”

President Liang suddenly let out a laugh and retorted, ”Does that include you, President Su?”

”At least I’m managing his company right now.”

Seeing that she was being mocked, Su Mu sneered, ”And you’re currently begging me!”

Liang Yan was rendered speechless.

Seeing Liang Yan’s face darken with anger, Su Mu smiled sweetly and said, ”But don’t you worry, President Liang. Business is business. As long as your project can really make money, I’ll invest.”

Watching Su Mu drive away, Liang Yan was so angry her chest trembled.

’Hmph, don’t celebrate too early. It’s not over ’til it’s over!’

Provoked by Su Mu, a resentful Liang Yan sent a private message to Xu Yun.

[Where are you? I’m coming to find you. I didn’t get enough the other day!]

...

Back in his house in Jinyuan, Xu Yun stared at the message on his phone, a little dumbfounded.

’What does President Liang mean by this?’

’Didn’t we agree it was a one-time thing?’

’Could it be that I was just that good? Has she gotten addicted to cheating?’

Just as Xu Yun was pondering this, a private message from Su Mu arrived a moment later.

[Su Mu: When are you coming back?]

Xu Yun replied: [What’s wrong?]

[Su Mu: Believe it or not, I’ll call someone to fix the water heater at the house tonight!]

[Xu Yun: ...]

’I’m suddenly in such high demand. It’s a little hard to get used to!’

Xu Yun glanced at Chen Xin, who was lying on the couch watching TV, and shook his head. ’Tonight’s probably not going to work.’

He had originally planned to keep his return a secret from Su Mu and Li Jinshu today, waiting until after he’d sent Chen Xin off before going to see them.

But now it looked like things with Su Mu couldn’t wait.

Xu Yun hesitated for a moment, then replied to Su Mu.

[I’m already back. Just got home.]

Su Mu was in her car, originally planning to check on the renovation progress at the office and pick up Li Jinshu on the way. But after seeing Xu Yun’s message...

She slammed on the brakes, bringing the car to a screeching halt.

’He’s actually back?’

’Great. If I hadn’t asked, if I hadn’t threatened him, was he just not going to tell me at all?’

Without a second thought, she made a U-turn and headed straight for his home.

At the same time, she called Li Jinshu. ”Hey, Jinshu, something came up, so I won’t be able to swing by. You’ll have to grab a cab back yourself.”

”Okay.”

For some reason, Su Mu intentionally hid the fact that Xu Yun was back from Li Jinshu.

Half an hour later, she was at Xu Yun’s front door, ringing the doorbell.

The door opened, but it wasn’t Xu Yun. It was Chen Xin.

The two women’s eyes met, and Su Mu subconsciously sized the other woman up.

’So this is his blind date?’

’Jinshu was right, her chest is ridiculous. She must be at least an E-cup.’

Chen Xin, in turn, looked at Su Mu, a beautiful, mature woman who seemed a bit older than her, and took the initiative to ask, ”Who are you looking for?”

”I’m looking for Xu Yun. I’m his neighbor.”

Su Mu asked with a smile, ”Is he home?”

’Strange... another pretty neighbor?’

’Wasn’t his neighbor that woman who snuck in on her own last time?’

”He is. Please, come in.”

Though filled with doubt, Chen Xin let Su Mu in and called into the house, ”Xu Yun, your neighbor is here to see you.”

”Oh.”

Xu Yun walked out from the back, saw it was Su Mu, and smiled. ”Sister Su.”

”So you finally decided to come back from your trip?”

Su Mu pretended not to know who Chen Xin was and said, ”Aren’t you going to introduce me to this beautiful lady?”

”This is my neighbor from across the hall, Chen Xin.”

Then Xu Yun turned to Chen Xin and said, ”Chen Xin, this is my next-door neighbor, Su Mu.”
