Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 127: Chapter 104: You’re Forcing Me to Be an Upstart, Aren’t You?

”No need, it wasn’t much money.”

Chen Xin replied and went into her bedroom.

She flopped onto her bed, feeling a little unhappy.

Because Xu Yun had just lied to her.

’Who falls into water and ruins their clothes like that? They must have been doing something else.’

’As for what that ”something else” was, she didn’t want to know, didn’t want to guess, and had no right to care.’

’I’m just his friend, that’s all.’

In the living room, Xu Yun was watching *Freshman*. The show was airing everywhere lately; it wasn’t like he actually wanted to watch it.

He’d watched the first few episodes after Li Jinshu recommended it, but after a plot twist, it immediately became cliché and melodramatic. The old tropes just weren’t interesting.

He casually turned off the TV and stood up to stretch.

’Chen Xin has probably guessed some of what happened between me and President Liang, but she didn’t say anything.’

’She’s playing dumb, so naturally, I have to play dumb too.’

That was why he’d gone along with it and told a lie when Chen Xin asked.

His attitude toward Chen Xin was just as he’d told President Liang earlier: after observing her for two days, he could see she was a truly innocent woman.

The Patriarch says: cherish good girls, and don’t let bad girls go to waste.

With a woman like Chen Xin, especially with his mom being part of the connection, he wouldn’t proactively corrupt her or lead her on.

They would just interact naturally. He wouldn’t initiate anything, but he wouldn’t reject her either.

He was leaving the choice up to her.

In fact, Xu Yun had this attitude toward every woman around him.

The only difference was that compared to the worldly wisdom of other women, Chen Xin seemed a bit more ”clumsy.”

Xu Yun figured it was probably because she spent all her time at home writing novels, rarely interacting with outsiders, and living in her own world.

Thinking of this, he opened his phone and once again used ’Do as You Please’ to gift Chen Xin’s novel a Golden Alliance.

’She’s such an innocent woman. I can’t really let her go out late at night to buy clothes for me and pay for it herself, can I?’

’Even though the clothes were Liang Yan’s, she was right—I was the one who tore them, after all.’

’This was a debt I had to pay.’

Just as he finished the transaction, the system’s reward notification sounded.

[The Host has found his conscience and used ’Do as You Please’ to gift a Golden Alliance to his friend. Reward: 200,000 cash.]

[Bank Balance: 18,600,000.]

”I actually got a reward this time?”

Xu Yun was a little surprised, since he hadn’t gotten one for his last gift.

’Looks like my emotions were a bit more invested this time.’

At the same time, he glanced toward a certain someone’s room upstairs. ’She’s probably happy again now, right?’

Sure enough, it wasn’t long before his QQ chimed with a new message.

It was a private message from Chen Xin.

[Hua Zhu: Bro, did you win the lottery? Why’d you gift me another one?]

Xu Yun replied on his phone from the living room.

[Angry Brother: I was in a good mood today, so I sent you one. How about it? More generous than that big ”B” you met in person, right?]

[Hua Zhu: Not at all, he was very generous too.]

[Angry Brother: Oh? Defending him already? Did his money move your heart? How about this, Author, you consider me instead? I’m pretty rich too.]

[Hua Zhu: I don’t do online relationships. Bye.]

[Angry Brother: ...]

After they finished chatting, Xu Yun got up and went back to his bedroom to sleep. But not long after he lay down, a splashing sound from outside the window caught his attention.

Curious, he walked to the window and looked out.

In the pool on the balcony below, Chen Xin was swimming in her sexy bikini, looking like a mermaid.

It turned out Chen Xin had waited until she thought Xu Yun was asleep to sneak out for a swim by herself.

”This woman... she even has to be sneaky about going for a swim.”

Chen Xin had no idea she was being watched from above. With no one else around, she swam freely in the pool, completely content.

...

The next morning, Xu Yun woke up and discovered that Chen Xin wasn’t up yet.

’Looks like she got too excited swimming by herself in the pool last night and wore herself out.’

He knocked on her door. ”Hey, wake up. We’re going out shopping.”

”Oh.”

Chen Xin groggily woke up and glanced at her phone. It was already 10 o’clock.

”Wait for me, I’ll be right out.”

”No rush, take your time.”

After speaking, Xu Yun went downstairs and saw Yu Xuan, who was already waiting for him.

”We’ll have to wait a little longer. Chen Xin isn’t up yet.”

”Alright.”

Yu Xuan asked, ”Mr. Xu, where would you like to go?”

”Shanghai has quite a few commercial centers. There’s the Zhangyang Road shopping district in Lujiazui, the East and West Nanjing Road shopping district, the Huaihai Road shopping district, and the Xujiahui shopping district.”

”I’m not familiar with the area. Which one do you think is best?”

Xu Yun said, ”I want to buy some gifts to bring back for my friends today.”

”If Mr. Xu is looking to buy from top-tier international brands and luxury goods, I recommend the International Financial Center. It’s a high-end shopping area with a very complete selection.”

Knowing Xu Yun’s wealth, Yu Xuan only recommended the best, not worried in the slightest about whether he could afford it.

”Alright, we’ll go there later then.”

Chen Xin was quick. Half an hour later, she emerged, dressed and with her makeup done.

”Sorry to keep you waiting.”

”It’s fine. Let’s go.”

Led by Yu Xuan, the group of three arrived at the Lujiazui International Financial Center.

As an international metropolis, the foot traffic here was immense, and many wealthy people lived in the area.

Even though the International Financial Center was a high-end shopping district, the mall was still bustling with a constant stream of people, and all sorts of luxury cars frequently entered and exited the parking garage.

Yu Xuan asked, ”Mr. Xu, what specifically are you looking to buy?”
