Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 108: Chapter 95: This Guy Xu Yun Is Way Too Rich

His mom’s birthday was fast approaching, so he needed to get this done quickly.

”Sure.”

Su Mu asked with a smile, ”So, how much are you planning to pay me a month? You’re giving a receptionist 20,000 a month.”

”You’re different from her. It’s not like you’re short on cash.”

Xu Yun said helplessly, ”I never thought about paying you to come work for my company. I was just hoping you’d work for free.”

”Working for free isn’t out of the question,”

Su Mu said, ”As long as you agree to let me manage your company.”

”Do whatever you want. After me, you’ll be the one in charge. How’s that?”

Xu Yun was just messing around anyway, using the company as a cover to put his mom’s mind at ease.

”Then it’s a deal.”

A short while later, Ning Qian’s group at the next table finished their meal.

As she was leaving, she came over to say goodbye to Xu Yun and Su Mu. Xu Yun asked, ”Are you guys heading back now, or do you have other plans?”

”They said they want to go sing at a KTV for a bit.”

Ning Qian replied, ”But I’m not planning to go. I’m getting ready to head home.”

”You’re all out having fun with friends, don’t be a party pooper.”

Xu Yun said casually, ”Go have fun. Enjoy yourselves.”

”Oh.”

Ning Qian replied, ”Then I’ll get going. Goodbye, Sister Su, Brother Xu.”

”Go on, but be safe out there.”

Su Mu added a kind reminder, ”Just don’t stay out too late or get too drunk. Get home early.”

Not long after Ning Qian left, while in the car, she received a WeChat transfer notification from Xu Yun.

He had sent her fifty thousand.

Xu Yun told her to treat her friends, have a good time, and not to hold back on spending.

Reading Xu Yun’s message, Ning Qian felt a warmth spread through her heart.

She turned to her friends in the car and said happily, ”To celebrate me finding a new job today, I’ll be paying for KTV later. Everyone just focus on having a great time!”

Thanks to Xu Yun, for the first time, she could be this confident and self-assured when out with her friends.

People say money isn’t everything, but sometimes, money could buy her dignity.

.....

Su Mu and Xu Yun ate for a while longer before heading back.

Just then, Li Jinshu also returned.

Seeing Su Mu, she eagerly took out her phone and showed her the initial design renderings she had just finished.

”I spent a long time thinking about this and came up with these mockups today,” Li Jinshu asked. ”What do you think?”

”For Xu Yun’s company?”

”Mhm,” Li Jinshu nodded. ”He handed over the entire design of his company to me today. He said I could do whatever I want and that I should discuss it with you. He’s not getting involved.”

”But I don’t know anything about design.”

Su Mu took a glance and said, ”It looks pretty good, though.”

”My design concept is inspired by Crane Garden, aiming for an Eastern aesthetic mixed with some traditional art.”

Li Jinshu explained, ”Given Xu Yun’s nature, I feel this kind of design suits his lazy, laid-back attitude.”

”But there’s one problem.”

Su Mu said, ”With a design like this, achieving the right effect is highly dependent on the quality of the construction materials and furniture.

If they’re not up to par, the finished renovation will just look cheap.

Take regular home renovations, for example. Why don’t many people go for a Chinese or European style?

It’s because to properly execute a traditional Chinese or European style, it’s very expensive.

A modern style, on the other hand, is cheaper and easier to pull off effectively.”

Li Jinshu laughed. ”Susu, I’m an interior designer. Of course I know that.”

”So that brings us to the cost.”

Su Mu reminded her, ”Even though Xu Yun gave you free rein, wouldn’t it be inappropriate if the final renovation cost is too high?

After all, it’s just an office for people to work in. It’s not cost-effective to make it too fancy.”

”That is a problem. I’d forgotten about it until you brought it up.”

Li Jinshu said, ”How about this? I’ll call him right now and ask about the budget for the design and renovation.”

”Okay.”

Right in front of Su Mu, Li Jinshu quickly dialed Xu Yun’s number.

At that moment, Xu Yun was watching a short video Ning Qian had sent him of her singing at the KTV.

Liking someone often starts with wanting to share your life with them.

Seeing Li Jinshu’s call, he answered it.

Xu Yun had no idea that when Li Jinshu called him, Su Mu was right beside her, and the phone was on speaker.

”Hello.”

He said casually, ”What’s up? Miss me already?”

”What are you talking about?”

Li Jinshu was startled and quickly tried to smooth things over. ”Susu is right here next to me! Don’t say things like that, you’ll cause a misunderstanding.”

”Er...”

”I have a question for you.”

Li Jinshu quickly got to the point. ”I forgot to ask you about the renovation budget for your company. How much are you planning to spend?”

”Budget?”

Xu Yun replied, ”Didn’t I say I’m leaving it to you? Whatever you say, goes.”

”My design might use some slightly expensive materials. If you don’t give me a number, I won’t have a clear idea of the limits.”

”How expensive can it be...”

Xu Yun said nonchalantly, ”Is 10 million enough for you? If not, make it 15 million.”

”!!!” Li Jinshu.

”!!!” Su Mu.

After a few seconds of stunned silence, Su Mu asked, ”Xu Yun, how much startup capital are you planning for this company?”

”Not much. Just 50 million.”

Xu Yun explained, ”After deducting the money spent on buying the property, the company account should still have over 40 million left. That’s enough for you guys to play around with.”

”...” Su Mu

”...” Li Jinshu.

’Are you starting a company to make money?’

’You’re just squandering a fortune!’

’Who starts a company without even deciding what it’s going to do and just throws 50 million at it to test the waters?’

’If you put that 50 million in a bank, the daily interest alone would be a huge amount of money.’

”Alright, if there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up.”

Xu Yun said, ”Don’t bother me with trivial things like this in the future. Whenever the company needs money, you don’t have to ask me. Just tell Su Mu and have her expense it from the account. I’ve already hired her as my CEO to be fully in charge of the company’s affairs.”

”Oh.”

After hanging up, Li Jinshu and Su Mu looked at each other, utterly speechless.

’This guy Xu Yun is ridiculously loaded.’

They both understood now that he wasn’t going to manage the company at all—he was just going to bankroll it.

He was clearly just playing around and not taking it seriously. To him, 50 million seemed to be no different from 500 yuan; he didn’t care about it at all.

”Susu, so... should I change the design plan or not?”

Su Mu thought for a moment, then said with a sigh of resignation, ”Since he doesn’t care, you might as well just create the most perfect company design you can imagine.”

”Okay, then I’ll go all out with the design.”

Li Jinshu said, ”But don’t worry, I won’t use my company to turn a huge profit on this. Aside from the construction workers, I’ll buy all the materials and furniture myself. I have connections.”

”Alright, as long as you don’t mind the trouble. And make sure the style isn’t too feminine; it’s different from a home renovation, after all.”

”I know. Once all the renderings are done, I’ll show them to you. I’ll only start the construction after you’re satisfied.”

Su Mu remembered something else. ”Oh, right, there’s one more thing. Xu Yun hired a receptionist on the spot tonight.

I’ll share her WeChat with you later. She might need to coordinate with you on-site sometimes.”

”Who is it?”

”A rather pretty woman.”

Li Jinshu: ”...”

.....

The next morning, to make it easier for Su Mu to withdraw funds from the company account, Xu Yun took her to the bank.

Under the guidance of business manager Tan Dan, they leisurely drank tea in the VIP lounge while handling a series of procedures.

It was incredibly efficient—a hundred times faster than waiting out in the main hall.

Xu Yun glanced around the bank and asked Manager Tan curiously, ”Where’s that Manager Zhao? I thought he was the one handling corporate accounts.”

”Mr. Xu, it’s like this.” Tan Dan, who had been abruptly transferred to this position, had immediately familiarized herself with Xu Yun’s file.

She explained with a smile, ”Due to operational needs, Manager Zhao has been transferred to the wealth management department. From now on, I will be responsible for your business.”

”Nice. I like dealing with beautiful women,” Xu Yun smiled.

’This Vice Governor Gao really gets it.’

’I only made one small comment the other day, and the guy was immediately transferred.’

Hearing him tease her like that, Tan Dan discreetly sized up Su Mu, the woman who had come with him.

Seeing that Su Mu didn’t seem displeased at all, she then said with a smile, ”Compared to Miss Su here, I still have a long way to go.”

”He’s the type who falls for every pretty face he sees.”

Su Mu said with a subtle smile, ”Manager Tan, you’d better be careful in the future. Don’t fall for his tricks.”

”Er...” Xu Yun.

Hearing this, Tan Dan gave an awkward laugh and wisely chose not to respond.

Once Xu Yun had signed all the necessary documents, he made an excuse about going to the gym and left first.

He left Su Mu and Tan Dan to handle the remaining paperwork and procedures themselves.

「A dozen minutes later.」

Just as the two of them finished all the paperwork and Tan Dan was about to see Su Mu out, Zhao Xianhong walked in from outside.

They came face to face.
