Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 146: Chapter 109: I Don’t Mind! As Long as You’re Willing, I’ll Do Anything

”I’ve lost my home, and my little brother is about to die!”

As Jiang Peiyao spoke, the light had vanished from her eyes.

”Is it that serious?”

Xu Yun asked, a bit surprised, ”Tell me the details. What happened?”

”My little brother has leukemia. He’s six years old, twenty years younger than me. He’s what my parents left me before they passed away.”

Xu Yun fell silent.

”His condition fluctuates, so he needs to be under long-term observation in the hospital.”

Jiang Peiyao leaned against the railing, gazing at the Jiangcheng nightscape in the distance. ”To pay for my brother’s medical bills, I took out a loan from the bank using my house as collateral. Now I can’t make the payments, and the bank is about to foreclose and auction it off.”

”So you want me to help you pay off the loan?”

”No.”

Jiang Peiyao explained, ”I had actually scraped together most of the money I owed the bank.

But then, the hospital suddenly called me. They said my brother’s condition had relapsed, and he was sent straight to the ICU. I had no choice but to use that money to pay his medical bills.

Even so, my brother’s life is hanging by a thread, and there’s no guarantee he can be saved.

A doctor privately told me that West China Hospital might have the right medical facilities, but it’s impossible to get an appointment with their specialists.”

’So it’s because of her brother.’

Having a patient like that in the family certainly makes life difficult.

”Xu Yun, I know I have nothing to offer you, except that my body is a little better than most.”

Jiang Peiyao turned to him, her voice pleading. ”You’re the only wealthy person I know. So if you can, I hope you’ll help me... help me pull some strings, see if you can get an appointment with a specialist at that hospital. My brother is still so young.”

”I don’t know anyone there, and I don’t have any connections.”

Xu Yun said truthfully, ”But I can try asking around for you, see if I can help.”

’He remembered the private banking card that Construction Bank had set up for him. Among its benefits and services, he seemed to recall a medical consultation option.’

’I don’t know anyone at the hospital, but maybe Construction Bank has a way!’

”Really?”

When Jiang Peiyao heard the first half of Xu Yun’s sentence, she had fallen into despair.

But then he unexpectedly changed his tune, saying he was willing to try asking people for her.

Since he said he would try, perhaps there was still a chance.

A glimmer of hope rekindled in Jiang Peiyao’s once-lifeless eyes.

”Life is always full of suffering.”

Xu Yun comforted her, ”Things will work themselves out. There are always more solutions than problems, so don’t worry too much.”

”Thank you, thank you so much, Xu Yun.”

Jiang Peiyao’s voice choked with emotion. ”I know what I did today was a bit immoral, but I was out of options.”

”It’s fine.”

Xu Yun chuckled. ”To be honest, I’ve wanted to sleep with you for a while now.”

Jiang Peiyao was speechless.

After a few seconds of silence, she whispered again, ”So... do you still want to? I’m willing.”

”Let’s not. This was your first time, so let’s not overdo it.”

Xu Yun said, ”I’ll take you home. Rest early, get a good night’s sleep, and wait for my news.”

”Mm...”

After dropping Jiang Peiyao off, Xu Yun returned to his residence and found that Li Jinshu had already left; she was no longer in the bedroom.

’I guess after tonight, she won’t dare sneak in again in the middle of the night for the next few days.’

It was a rare night alone at home.

Remembering the promise he’d made to Jiang Peiyao, he picked up his phone and called his dedicated bank manager.

For a bank client like him, the user manual had stated that a professional team was available to serve him 24 hours a day.

He had used them for his last trip to Shanghai, and they had flawlessly arranged all his food, lodging, and transportation, providing him with the best service.

The call connected quickly. A woman answered.

”Hello, Mr. Xu. How may I be of service to you?”

Xu Yun asked, ”I remember you offer services related to medical consultations, right?”

”That’s correct, Mr. Xu. What can we do for you?”

”Here’s the situation.”

Xu Yun replied, ”I have a relative with leukemia who is in critical condition in the ICU. I need to transfer them to West China Hospital as quickly as possible. I was wondering if you could help arrange for a specialist?”

”Mr. Xu, that will be difficult on such short notice.”

The woman replied, ”After all, it’s one of the top hospitals in the country, and many people are waiting for appointments...”

”Alright.”

Xu Yun cut her off. ”Don’t give me all that. Just tell me honestly, can you get it done or not?”

”I can’t give you an answer right now.”

The woman hesitated for a few seconds before replying, ”However, Mr. Xu, our bank will do its utmost to try for you. We’ll give you an update tomorrow morning. How does that sound?”

”Fine.”

Xu Yun added, ”I don’t care if it costs a little money!”

”Understood.”

The woman, who had been about to rest, was named Cai Shiwei. A graduate from a top-tier 985 university with a master’s degree in finance, she had joined Construction Bank, one of the ”Big Four,” right after graduation.

She worked in a field that matched her specialization: financial services.

In her four years at the bank, she had risen from a junior associate to a professional financial manager responsible for providing one-on-one service to the bank’s high-end clients.

She had a professional team at her disposal that served only high-end clients, providing a range of benefits including financial consulting, travel services, medical consultations, and more.

The main focus was on financial services, helping clients manage their wealth. Other perks like travel and medical services were supplementary, designed to retain clients.

Therefore, she took Xu Yun’s request very seriously.

She knew that if she could get this done for him and let him experience his privileges, his impression of the bank—and of her—would improve significantly.
