Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 134: Chapter 106: Shut Up, I’m a Decent Person

The trip to Shanghai was over.

Xu Yun and Chen Xin were heading home.

In the airport’s VIP lounge, Chen Xin was enjoying the free food while Xu Yun and Yu Xuan exchanged their final words.

”I didn’t check out of the hotel room. I’m leaving it for you to use.”

Xu Yun said, ”Once you’ve finished the resignation process at the hotel, check out of the room and come find me in Jiangcheng. I’ll take care of your living arrangements from there.”

”Thank you, Mr. Xu.”

Yu Xuan said, ”I’ll get it done as quickly as possible. I won’t keep you waiting long.”

”Also, I didn’t have time to ask you last night, and I don’t really want to ask you now either.”

Xu Yun reminded her, ”Whatever happened with you and your boyfriend... it doesn’t matter to me.

But I need to be clear. Whatever happened between you and your boyfriend, I don’t want it causing me any trouble, especially not in Jiangcheng.

Handle your own business as best you can, understand?”

”I will.”

”Alright, that’s everything then.”

Xu Yun said, ”Lastly, I just sent you 50,000 yuan via WeChat. Consider it a salary advance. Use it for now.”

”Thank you.”

”Alright, you should head back. We’re about to board.”

”Have a safe flight.”

After Yu Xuan left, Chen Xin sidled up and asked curiously, ”You hired her?”

”Yup.”

”Why would you go and hire a woman to follow you around?”

”For whatever needs doing.”

Xu Yun laughed and retorted, ”As a rich man, can’t I have a personal assistant?”

”You sure you’re not just into her?”

”Not at all.”

Xu Yun teased with a smile, ”If you’re interested in the position, I could hire you too.”

”No way, forget it.”

Chen Xin said, ”I have no desire to be your assistant. That would make me your subordinate. I’d rather have the freedom to write my novels.”

”Does writing novels pay as well as being my assistant?”

”Are you underestimating me?”

Chen Xin shook the Lucky Bead on her wrist and said, ”My luck is turning around this year! No, it’s already turned around. I met a whale of a patron who really appreciates my work. I’m going to make tons and tons of money. You’ll be green with envy.”

”Oh. Well, good luck with that.” Xu Yun chuckled, then turned and walked toward the boarding gate.

Seeing his unconvinced expression, Chen Xin stomped her foot in frustration and hurried after him.

”You’re looking down on me!”

”That’s right, I am.”

Xu Yun said smugly, ”Go on, bite me.”

Chen Xin was speechless.

As a novelist, the moment she saw or heard that word, her mind immediately jumped to its other meaning.

Her face instantly flushed red.

’I’d never bite you, dream on!’

...

The flight back was in first class again, which was a great experience.

A little over an hour later, they landed in Jiangcheng.

After exiting through the private VIP channel, Xu Yun stepped onto familiar ground. As he drove his Bentley toward Jinyuan District, he felt as if he’d been away for a long time.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Chen Xin glanced at the scenery outside before turning to ask, ”Xu Yun, are you going back for your mom’s birthday?”

”Of course I’m going back.”

”Can you go a day early, then?”

”Why?”

Chen Xin hesitated for a moment before answering, ”Because the day before is my birthday. I don’t really have any friends, and you’re the first real friend I’ve made. I’d like to treat you to dinner to celebrate.”

”Okay, I’ll definitely be there.”

Xu Yun agreed. ”I’ll be sure to order the best things on the menu and make you spend a fortune.”

”It’s a date, then! No backing out.”

Xu Yun then asked, ”When are you heading back to Kuixian County?”

”Tomorrow morning.”

”You’re not staying in Jiangcheng for another day?”

”You said it yourself, Jiangcheng isn’t much fun.”

Chen Xin said, ”Besides, I’ve been taking it easy for a while now. If I don’t get back to writing, I’ll burn through my entire buffer.”

”Alright. When you get back, if my mom asks...”

”Don’t worry. I’ve got your back.”

Chen Xin promised confidently, ”I’ll handle Auntie.”

”You’re a true friend!”

...

In a café in Jiangcheng, Su Mu sat opposite a sexy woman about her own age, dressed in a qipao.

She didn’t know this woman, but on the phone, the stranger had claimed to know Xu Yun.

So, she had come.

Su Mu looked at Liang Yan and asked, ”Alright, you called me here. What’s this about?”

”Hello, President Su.”

Liang Yan said with a smile, ”I asked to meet you because I’d like to discuss a business deal.”

”A business deal with me?”

”That’s right.”

Liang Yan had just been sizing up Su Mu, and she couldn’t help but inwardly admire Xu Yun’s incredible luck. ’To have a woman like this around him, too...’

”I mentioned this business deal to Xu Yun the day before yesterday in Shanghai.”

Liang Yan said, ”He was very interested and even agreed to invest. However, he mentioned that you’re currently managing the company and that I should talk to you, President Su. That’s why I took the liberty of calling you.”

Su Mu was no ordinary woman; she’d been navigating the business world for years.

She could tell which parts of a story were true and which were embellished.

’It’s true that this Liang Yan woman has met Xu Yun, and it’s also true that he told her to find me. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have my phone number.

But this business about Xu Yun agreeing to it? That’s probably a story she made up.

Knowing Xu Yun’s personality, if he’d really agreed, he would have given me a heads-up and just transferred the money directly. He wouldn’t have made it this complicated.

So, in Xu Yun’s eyes, this deal was take-it-or-leave-it.

He didn’t really care.

But perhaps because of some connection between them, he decided to do her a favor!

And then irresponsibly dumped the whole thing on me.’
