Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 98: Chapter 91: The Bank’s Major Client, Xu Yun

You could even say they were affable. As long as you kept your money in their bank, you were their god.

This Vice Governor Gao had already learned about Xu Yun’s company account the day before. A full 50 million was sitting in it.

And that money had only just been deposited.

After all, a deposit of that size was taken very seriously internally.

The governor had even held a small, impromptu meeting yesterday, requiring every employee at the branch to be able to recognize him.

They were also instructed that if he ever came in to conduct any business—no matter what it was—he was to be immediately escorted to the VIP lounge. A cup of tea was to be prepared, and all his business was to be handled exclusively there.

And that was to say nothing of the holidays.

You think that meant some rice dumplings and salted eggs for the Dragon Boat Festival?

Or some mini mooncakes and red wine for the Mid-Autumn Festival?

You’d be wrong. They get the things usually reserved for honored guests, like premium cigarettes, top-shelf liquor, and fine teas!

Was this treatment an exaggeration?

Not at all. Many banks were eyeing a major client like this. If you weren’t careful and failed to provide perfect service, they’d be immediately poached by a competitor.

Every local branch had a deposit quota to meet.

At a branch like theirs, most depositors were individuals, not corporations. The bank’s total assets weren’t huge either—only a few hundred million.

Xu Yun’s 50-million-yuan deposit was a major pillar for their performance this year.

Unexpectedly, the bank had received a call from him today, scheduling an appointment to conduct some business.

This would be their first time meeting in person.

So when Gao Fei found out, he decided to greet him personally to show the bank’s sincerity.

Standing to one side, the property owner, Liang Yan, watched the scene unfold with a small sense of surprise.

She had been dealing with banks for a long time, so she knew how they operated.

In this world, cash was truly king.

For example, if you deposited over ten million in a bank, you could get your child a job there directly.

So, for a bank governor—even a vice governor—to personally come out and greet someone for a simple transfer was a very big deal.

That wasn’t the kind of treatment you got for having just a little bit of money in your account.

For a company to receive this kind of treatment, it would need net assets of at least twenty million.

It could only mean that Xu Yun was a major client for the bank, one who required the highest level of service.

’Looks like this is the first time they’ve met.’

’This Xu Yun must come from a powerful family!’

Standing closest to Xu Yun, Ning Qian was also shocked as she watched Gao Fei act so polite, so enthusiastic, and even use a slightly fawning tone with him.

In the eyes of an ordinary person like her, a bank governor was a high-ranking official.

You’d never even see someone like that on a normal trip to the bank.

But she never expected that today, when faced with Xu Yun, this man’s attitude was almost the same as hers when she served customers at her clothing store.

Ning Qian glanced at the ”ordinary-looking” Xu Yun beside her, an inexplicable feeling of pride and satisfaction swelling in her heart.

’Even if I’m not his only woman, he is my only man.’

”Governor Gao, hello.”

Xu Yun shook his hand. He didn’t act aloof in the face of the governor’s courtesy; instead, he deliberately dropped the ”Vice” from his title.

He said calmly, ”I’d like to make a transaction. A transfer of 7.5 million from my company account to Ms. Liang here.”

”Of course, no problem at all.”

Gao Fei nodded immediately. ”I’ll have my staff process it for you with the utmost speed. We won’t hold you up.”

”Thank you, then.”

”Not at all, Mr. Xu. It’s our duty.”

At Gao Fei’s insistence, the staff quickly followed the procedures and completed the corporate-to-private transfer.

After Liang Yan received a text message confirming the transfer, she nodded at Xu Yun.

’My house is finally sold.’

’If I’d waited a few more months, the court might have repossessed it and forced a low-price auction.’

’Before any of that could happen, I need to liquidate all my assets and make a clean break from my husband.’

’That way, when the court comes looking, I’ll be in the clear.’

The three of them then left the bank, planning to get to the service window at the administration hall to complete the property transfer before the end of the workday.

Just as they were leaving, Xu Yun smiled deliberately at Gao Fei. ”Governor Gao, this Manager Zhao beside you is clearly a dragon among men. Be sure to train him well. He has a bright future ahead of him.”

”...” said Gao Fei.

”...” said Zhao Xianhong.

After watching from the entrance as Xu Yun’s party left, Gao Fei turned and gave Zhao Xianhong a long, meaningful look.

If he’d only been guessing before, now he was certain!

’”Dragon among men?” Xu Yun had clearly been speaking sarcastically!’

Vice Governor Gao didn’t know how Zhao Xianhong had offended Xu Yun, but he knew one thing for sure.

He couldn’t risk having Xu Yun feel the slightest bit unhappy whenever he came to do business at the bank.

It was a gamble he couldn’t afford to take.

If the bank lost a client with a deposit of tens of millions over one Zhao Xianhong... never mind him, even the head governor’s head would explode if he found out.

”From now on, you’re no longer responsible for corporate accounts. We’re moving you to a different post.”

”What?”

Zhao Xianhong was dumbfounded. ”Governor Gao, but I’m doing just fine here...”

”Xiaozhao, you’re a capable man. Both the governor and I think very highly of you. That’s why you can’t just stay in one position, coasting along.

”You need to familiarize yourself with the bank’s other operations and get more experience. Otherwise, how can we promote you in the future?”
