Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 92: Chapter 88: That Kick Not Only Knocked Down Her Brother, but Also Kicked Its Way into Her Heart

”Hey, you haven’t paid me back yet. Don’t you dare leave.”

Xu Yun deliberately shouted after them, and the two immediately took off, disappearing in moments.

Seeing that a small crowd of onlookers had gathered, Xu Yun and Li Jinshu also quickly left the area.

Then they found a nearby coffee shop.

”I’m sorry, you had to see that embarrassing scene.”

Li Jinshu said with an awkward expression, ”But please, don’t tell Su Mu about this.”

She was mortified to have her family’s ugly side exposed in front of someone she liked.

”Okay, I won’t tell her.”

Xu Yun asked with some concern, ”Do your brother and mother bully you like this often?”

”Yes.”

Li Jinshu nodded and said, ”They call me for money every so often, and if I don’t give it to them, they show up and cause a scene, just like today.”

”It was because of them that I gave up my rented apartment and came to hide out at Su Mu’s place.”

”I can’t believe they still managed to find me.”

”So what are you going to do? Just let them bleed you dry like this?”

”I don’t know.”

Li Jinshu said helplessly, ”I’ve tried reporting it to the police, but they said it’s a family matter and told us to resolve it ourselves.”

It was a classic domestic dispute—the kind even an honest official can’t resolve.

”You can’t be soft-hearted when you’re dealing with people like this.”

Xu Yun spoke from experience. ”Listen to me. It takes a villain to deal with a villain.”

”If you keep backing down, you’ll only encourage them to get worse.”

”You have to learn to fight back and show them you’re not a pushover.”

”How do I fight back?”

After all, Li Jinshu was just one woman, and she felt helpless when faced with this kind of situation.

She couldn’t think of any good solutions at all.

”I heard you say just now that you paid for the house they bought?”

”Yes.”

Li Jinshu said, ”At the time, my mom said my brother couldn’t find a wife and needed money to buy a house, which would help him find one.”

”So she asked me for the down payment. But my brother didn’t have a job and had a bad credit history, so there was no way he could get a mortgage from the bank.”

”In the end, she had me go to the bank and take out the loan for him. It’s in my name.”

”So for all these years, I’ve been the one making the monthly mortgage payments on the house they live in.”

”All right, I understand the situation now.”

Xu Yun said, ”Leave your mom and brother to me.”

”I’ll not only figure out a way to get your house back, but I’ll also make sure they never dare to bother you again, so you can be completely free of them.”

”What are you going to do?” Li Jinshu asked.

Xu Yun smiled. ”You don’t need to worry about that. But if you can’t bear it or feel reluctant, then forget it.”

”It’s fine. Do whatever you need to do.”

Li Jinshu hesitated for a moment, then gritted her teeth and said, ”They were the ones who stopped treating me like family first.”

”That’s all I needed to hear.”

”Okay, enough about my brother and his lot.”

Li Jinshu asked, a little curious, ”How did you end up at my company building today?”

”I was just coming to see you about something and happened to run into this.”

Xu Yun said, ”I wanted to come to your company to discuss some business with you.”

”What business?”

”If everything goes smoothly, I’ll probably be buying a partially-finished building in a couple of days, so it might need to be completely renovated and redesigned.”

”Buy a whole building?”

Li Jinshu subconsciously pictured an office building like the one she was in.

She said in surprise, ”How much would that cost? It would have to be at least a few hundred million, right?”

”It’s not the kind of building you’re thinking of.”

Xu Yun knew she had gotten the wrong idea. He shot her a look and explained, ”It’s just a normal two-story low-rise building. The total area is only a little over 500 square meters, about the size of a large villa.”

”Oh, you scared me for a second.”

Li Jinshu smiled. ”I really thought you were buying an office building. That would have been too much.”

”As if.”

Li Jinshu asked, confused, ”But why are you buying a building out of the blue? Didn’t you just buy a house?”

”I left my company yesterday. I’ve started my own media company.”

Li Jinshu was speechless. ”...”

’Why didn’t Su Mu mention this last night?’

’It must be nice to be rich,’ she thought. ’Quitting your job, starting a company... it’s all like a game to him.’

Xu Yun asked, ”Does your company take on this kind of work?”

”This kind should be fine.”

Li Jinshu said, ”Leave it to me. I won’t charge you a design fee, aside from the company’s renovation charges.”

”How could I accept that?”

”I bet you came here with the intention of getting a freebie from me anyway.”

Li Jinshu said, ”To thank you for helping me out of that jam today, I’ll treat you to dinner.”

Xu Yun asked meaningfully, ”And after dinner, will there be... dessert?”

”Well...”

Li Jinshu hesitated for a moment, then said with a smile, ”I’ll think about it. I’ll give you an answer before I get off work.”

With that, she stood up and walked toward the office building.

Xu Yun was left speechless. ”...”

With her back to Xu Yun, Li Jinshu’s face was lit up with a happier smile than ever before.

Before, when she saw Xu Yun ram his car into a Mercedes just to stand up for Su Mu, it would be a lie to say she wasn’t jealous or envious.

But today, when he saw her being bullied, he had rushed over without hesitation and delivered that kick—a kick that filled the void left by her jealousy toward Su Mu.

That kick didn’t just knock over her brother; it kicked its way right into her heart.

Li Jinshu, who had been starved for affection since childhood, suddenly felt what it was like to be cared for and protected again.

Last time at the bar, she could say she had been spurred on by his extravagant spending, acting on impulse to vent her own frustrations.

But this time, she was truly starting to fall for him.

And it was no longer because of his money.

...

After her morning SPA at the beauty salon, Su Mu went home, had lunch by herself, and then took a nap.

In the afternoon, bored and alone, she came to Jiangshang Mall to do some shopping and eventually wandered into the Gucci store.

She didn’t see Ning Qian anywhere in the store.

After learning that Ning Qian was on leave today, Su Mu bought a random piece of clothing and left.

But inwardly, she grumbled, ’Xu Yun is probably hanging out with her again.’

’All this talk about starting a company, so unreliable. I wonder if he’s even finished the paperwork. All he knows how to do is fool around with other women all day.’

Seeing that it was almost dinnertime, she deliberately called Xu Yun.

She had no other motive; she just wanted to interrupt a certain someone’s private time for two.

Hmph!

’He just got out of my bed yesterday after spending the whole day there, and today he’s already in someone else’s. Aren’t you afraid of working yourself to death?’

The call connected quickly.

Xu Yun’s somewhat out-of-breath voice came from the other end.

”Hey, Sister Su.”

The moment Su Mu heard his voice, a certain image popped into her head, and she said, flustered and angry, ”If you’re busy right now, we can talk later.”

”I’m not busy. I’ve already stopped.”

Xu Yun asked, ”Go ahead, what’s up?”

”Really not busy?”

”Really. I just finished.”

Su Mu was speechless. ”...”

After a few seconds of silence, she said, ”Where are you now? I’m at Jiangshang Mall.”

”If you’re free, can you come pick me up? We can go get dinner together.”

”Alright, wait for me.”

After hanging up, a gorgeous Bentley pulled up to the side of the road in a high-traffic area of Jiangshang about ten minutes later.

When Su Mu saw it, she walked over in her high heels with an elegant, sexy stride, opened the door, and got in.

Everyone around cast envious glances her way.

Luxury cars and beautiful women have always gone hand in hand.

In the car, Xu Yun asked, ”Sister Su, where are we eating?”

”The place I took you last time. I already made a reservation.”

”Okay.”

Su Mu looked at Xu Yun, who was covered in sweat. He didn’t look like he had just come from someone else’s house.

She asked curiously, ”What were you doing when I called you?”

”I went to a gym and signed up for a membership.”

Xu Yun answered, ”When you called, the trainer had just finished my fitness assessment and was checking my overall physical condition.”

”And what was the result?”

”Barely passed.”

Realizing she had let her imagination run wild, Su Mu smiled. ”Why did you suddenly decide to go to the gym?”

”Because I want to get some abs.”

Xu Yun said, ”When I get them, I’ll let you be the first one to feel them.”

”Well, I’d be honored.”

Su Mu changed the subject, asking about his company.

Xu Yun told her his company’s name and about his plan to buy the building.

After hearing this, Su Mu voiced some opposition. ”Actually, it’s more cost-effective to rent an office building than to buy one. You don’t need to invest so much right at the beginning. Take it slow.”

”It’s fine. It’s only seven or eight million. It’s not like I can’t afford it.”

Xu Yun said, ”Once I buy it, it becomes a fixed asset. And what if property values in that area go up in the future?”

Su Mu was speechless. ”...”

The two chatted away, and soon they arrived at Su Mu’s usual spot.

As they entered, it was just as it had been before—cool and quiet, with only one other table occupied.

But what Xu Yun didn’t expect was...

He actually ran into Huang Mengyao’s best friend, Wang Qing, here!

And... Ex-Husband Bro!
