Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 86: Chapter 86: I Know I Was Wrong, Let’s Make Up, Okay?

The next morning.

Su Mu fooled Li Jinshu by claiming she was taking a day off from work to rest, and even let Li Jinshu use her car.

After all, she wasn’t going to work, so she didn’t need it.

However, the car was still at the company, so Li Jinshu had to go pick it up herself.

Bored and idle at home, Su Mu had wanted to find Xu Yun and ask what he was up to, and if he wanted to go shopping together.

But who would have known that Xu Yun had actually gotten up early and gone out, saying he was going to register a company.

Su Mu asked him why he hadn’t asked her to go with him. Xu Yun said he thought she was still sleeping and didn’t want to disturb her, so he went by himself.

Besides, registering a company wasn’t that difficult. One person was enough.

Left alone at home, Su Mu could only go to a beauty salon by herself and get an essential oil spa treatment.

A woman’s skin is the result of diligent maintenance.

The saying that ”money can maintain a beauty” refers to spending money on various treatments to delay skin aging and improve its quality.

Otherwise, how could it look so supple and dewy?

This is also why, among people of the same age, a wealthy woman always looks a bit younger than an ordinary one.

...

When Song Xiaowei arrived at the company today, she discovered Xu Yun was gone.

Manager Su was gone too.

Manager Li was in the middle of his resignation procedures.

Completely bewildered, she asked around and finally learned about what had happened with Xu Yun and Manager Su.

It turned out they were actually boyfriend and girlfriend.

This was indeed quite a surprise to Song Xiaowei.

But now another problem arose. ’I used to report to Xu Yun, so now that he’s gone, who will I report to? No one has come to assign me any work either.’

However, the moment she remembered she still owed Xu Yun money, she immediately sent him a message.

[Song Xiaowei: I heard from everyone that you resigned?]

[Xu Yun: I did.]

[Song Xiaowei: Then what about the money I owe you?]

[Xu Yun: When you have the money, you can just transfer it to me on WeChat. It works the same.]

[Song Xiaowei: So what are you doing now?]

[Xu Yun: Busy registering a company. Talk later.]

Song Xiaowei stared at the message on her phone, a little surprised. ’He’s actually starting his own company?’

’I wonder what kind of company he’s starting.’

Just then, an angry voice came from the boss’s office. ”What the hell do I pay you for? It’s been this long and you still can’t come up with a decent proposal?”

”President Gu, Xu Yun was the one handling this project before.”

”So you can’t do anything without Xu Yun, is that it? I don’t care! I just want results! The client needs the proposal by tomorrow.”

Gu Heng bellowed, ”Even if you have to work overtime tonight, you will get it done for me! If you can’t, you can all get the hell out!”

A moment later, Xiaopang and two other colleagues walked out of the boss’s office, looking dejected and weighed down with gloom.

”President Gu has to be nuts,” someone grumbled under their breath. ”Who could possibly finish this in one night?”

”Yeah, he’s the one who fired Xu Yun and lost the proposal, and now he’s blaming us.”

”Sigh, stop talking. If you don’t want to get fired, the few of us will have to work overtime tonight. Even if we have to pull an all-nighter, we need to slap something together to turn in.”

Xiaopang said, ”Whether it gets approved or not is another story.”

”It’s not like this is our only project.”

Someone complained, ”I’ve still got two other projects on my plate, and neither of them is finished yet.”

”Fuck, I wish I could just tell him off like Xu Yun did and then quit.”

”He only had the guts to do that because he’s dating Manager Su.”

A female colleague couldn’t help but tease, ”You can only blame yourself for not having the skills.”

Xiaopang ignored them and said, ”Alright, hurry back and work on the proposal.”

”Okay, Manager.”

That’s right. After Xu Yun left and Manager Li was fired yesterday, Xiaopang had a blessing in disguise and was promoted to manager.

The first project he took over was the Pechoin product launch event that Xu Yun and Manager Li had left behind.

To find some help, he sought out Song Xiaowei and enticed her to help him by offering her the position of event host.

Naturally, Song Xiaowei was willing.

But when Xiaopang got back to his desk, he still sent a message to Xu Yun, asking for help.

[Xiaopang: Brother Xu, save me.]

Xu Yun had just finished some paperwork in the main hall and was waiting for his number to be called when he received Xiaopang’s cry for help.

[Xu Yun: What’s up?]

[Xiaopang: Can you send me a copy of the Pechoin event planning proposal you were working on? President Gu just told me I have to finish it before the meeting tomorrow so we can show it to the client. But there’s no way I can get it done in such a short amount of time.]

[Xu Yun: After I left, this shouldn’t have fallen to you. If anyone was going to be the scapegoat, it should have been Dog Li.]

[Xiaopang: Uh, he got fired too.]

Xu Yun hadn’t expected Manager Li to be fired as well. He felt a small thrill of satisfaction.

But then, he thought of something else.

’I left, Manager Li got fired, and now the proposal has been handed to Xiaopang.’

’Which means...’

[Xu Yun: You got promoted to manager?]

A few seconds later.

[Xiaopang: Yeah. Just got lucky.]

’Just as I thought,’ Xu Yun mused. It made sense. There were only a few truly competent people at the company; most of the others were basically just slacking off.

’Xiaopang was one of the few with decent skills, and he was a veteran employee too.’

’Looks like Gu Heng isn’t a complete idiot after all.’

[Xu Yun: Congrats then. But I can’t give you the proposal.]

[Xiaopang: Why not? It’s useless to you now anyway. Just give it to me. I’ll treat you to a meal, how about it?]

[Xu Yun: Nope. Because we’re about to become competitors.]

[Xiaopang: Huh?!]

After sending that message, Xu Yun didn’t reply to Xiaopang anymore.

If it had been a personal matter for Xiaopang, he might have been kind enough to help. But something for the sake of the company...
