Chapter 94: Chapter 89: You Came Out Without Pants On?

”What if?”

”It’s fine. If they start a fight, we’ll just call the police and make them compensate us for our losses.

That way, the restaurant can get all new things again.”

”...” The waiter was speechless.

The owner was a good judge of character, and so was Xu Yun. Zhao Xianhong spat out, ”You two adulterous scumbags just you wait,” before turning to leave.

But the owner stopped him.

”Sir, you haven’t paid the bill yet.”

”How much?”

”3,520 yuan. Card or WeChat Pay?”

Zhao Xianhong paid with WeChat, then left with Wang Qing, his face dark.

Only then did the middle-aged owner walk over, smiling. ”Xiaosu, was that your ex?”

”Yeah.”

”Your taste in men back then really wasn’t that great.”

The middle-aged man glanced at Xu Yun again. ”He’s nothing compared to the guy next to you now.”

”Thanks for the compliment, boss,” Xu Yun said with a laugh.

The owner replied, ”It’s all settled. Go on and eat. Don’t let my food go to waste. I only serve two tables a day.”

”Okay, boss.”

As the two resumed their meal, Su Mu asked, ”By the way, that woman from just now, do you know her?”

”I do. She’s my ex-girlfriend’s best friend.”

Xu Yun said lightly, ”She’s half the reason my ex and I broke up.”

”...” Su Mu was speechless.

....

After dinner, Xu Yun was driving Su Mu home when he received a call from Li Jinshu.

But with Su Mu sitting next to him, he didn’t dare answer it casually.

He ignored it.

Since the caller ID just showed the letter ”L,” Su Mu had no idea it was Li Jinshu.

She asked, confused, ”Your phone’s ringing. Why aren’t you answering?”

”An old client. No need to answer,” Xu Yun lied, then immediately declined the call.

Li Jinshu, who had just gotten off work, heard the busy signal and dialed again.

’He actually ignored my call?’

’Does he not want to have dinner with me anymore?’

Hearing the phone ring again, Su Mu said, ”Why don’t you just answer it?”

”Nope.”

Xu Yun replied, ”I don’t take calls while I’m driving.”

’There’s definitely something up with that call. It’s probably from some woman, and he doesn’t want me to hear.’

Su Mu smiled and didn’t call him out on it.

’But maybe this is for the best.’

’If he started chatting intimately with another woman right in front of me, it would be pretty inappropriate. It would feel like he doesn’t respect me.’

’Technically, I’m not his girlfriend yet. Our relationship isn’t official.’

’But no matter how you look at it, we’ve already done what married couples do.’

’So, it’s one thing for me to know about it, but bringing it out into the open would just make things awkward for everyone.’

’Sometimes, you have to learn to play dumb.’

She, Su Mu, was no longer the love-struck fool she used to be. She had grown up, learned to let things go, and become much more tolerant.

Besides, she hadn’t even decided if she wanted to be with Xu Yun for good.

Right now, their relationship was more like a friendly partnership, fulfilling certain needs in their lives.

Seeing that he didn’t pick up after two calls, Li Jinshu stopped trying.

’He’s probably busy.’

So, she bought some groceries and drove Su Mu’s car back, planning to go straight to Xu Yun’s place and cook for him to thank him for helping her today.

But just as she got to the parking garage, she saw a white Bentley pull up next to her.

Su Mu and Xu Yun got out of the car.

”...” Li Jinshu was speechless.

The two of them also saw her and her car.

Su Mu was also a bit surprised to see Li Jinshu, and said guiltily, ”Jinshu, you’re back from work?”

”Huh?”

Holding her groceries, Li Jinshu glanced at the two of them and said with an awkward smile, ”On my way back, I just picked up a few things. I noticed we were running low on food in the fridge.”

”But I just went grocery shopping the day before yesterday.”

”Oh, really? I forgot.”

Li Jinshu tried to hand the groceries to Xu Yun. ”Xu Yun, take these back with you. Put them in your fridge.”

Xu Yun intentionally refused, ”I don’t want them. I don’t cook.”

”How about this? The three of us can eat together.”

Su Mu stepped in to smooth things over. ”Xu Yun, come eat at our place tonight.”

”Is that okay?”

”What’s not to be okay about?” Li Jinshu said. ”So, are you coming or not? Susu’s a great cook.”

”Alright, since you two beautiful ladies have so graciously invited me, I suppose I can force myself to accept.”

”In your dreams.”

The three of them went upstairs. Xu Yun went back to his own apartment first, agreeing that they would call him when dinner was ready.

After Su Mu and Li Jinshu got home, they both went to change. It was inconvenient for one to cook in her outside clothes, and the other felt restricted.

While changing, Su Mu quietly reminded Li Jinshu, ”We have a guest over, so don’t wear anything too see-through. And don’t go braless.”

”Oh,” Li Jinshu replied, pouting a little.

’Actually, she really wanted to tell Susu that it didn’t matter. A certain someone had already seen and touched everything anyway.’

When they came out after changing, they both froze for a second.

Compared to her usual style, Li Jinshu’s outfit was rather conservative: a loose, long T-shirt that came down halfway to her thighs.

But it was still a bit short, revealing her fair, tender legs.

But Su Mu could tell with a single glance that she was still braless underneath.

Li Jinshu, in turn, noticed that while Su Mu was wearing an opaque silk nightgown, it was the sexiest one she owned.

”Didn’t I tell you not to go braless?”

Su Mu glared. ”Aren’t you afraid Xu Yun will take advantage of you?”

”It’s fine, I’m doing it on purpose,” Li Jinshu said with a laugh. ”He can look, but he can’t touch. I’m going to drive him crazy.”

”...” Su Mu was speechless.

Li Jinshu retorted, ”And what about you? Why are you wearing your sexiest nightgown? Are you trying to copy me and tease him too?”

”I’m not as shameless as you are.”

Su Mu denied it, a bit guiltily. ”I just grabbed one at random. It was just a coincidence.”

”Oh, what a coincidence.”

”You’re really not going back to put one on?”

”Nope! I’m used to not wearing one at home.”

Li Jinshu said, ”This shirt is so loose, and you can’t see anything. If you don’t say anything, he might not even be observant enough to notice.”

”Fine, then.”

Su Mu said, ”Didn’t you say you wanted to learn how to cook? Come help me in the kitchen.”

”Okay.”

Back in his own apartment, Xu Yun received a routine call from his mom.

Zhang Sujuan asked caringly if he was eating on time, if he had met any girls he liked, if he had any troubles at work, and so on.

That’s what moms do, always nagging like that.

But Xu Yun wasn’t the least bit impatient. He chatted with her idly while watching TV.

He only hung up when he heard a knock on the door.

He opened the door to see Li Jinshu standing there in a loose cotton T-shirt, slippers, and nothing but bare legs, calling him over for dinner.

Xu Yun teased, ”Did you come out without any pants on?”

”*You’re* the one not wearing pants.”

Li Jinshu explained, ”It’s a long T-shirt. I’m wearing it like a dress, so I don’t need pants.”

”Oh.”

At first, Xu Yun didn’t think much of it. He just closed his door and followed her. After all, Su Mu was there today. It looked like there was no chance for the ”after-dinner dessert” they had previously arranged.

But just as he opened the door to Su Mu’s place, Li Jinshu suddenly stopped.

She stood on her tiptoes and whispered quickly in his ear, ”I’m not wearing anything under my T-shirt today.”

Then, she walked into the apartment as if nothing had happened.

”...” Xu Yun was speechless.

’Teasing me?’

He watched Li Jinshu go in, cleared his throat twice, and followed her inside.

Su Mu was arranging the dishes in the dining room. She smiled, ”Quick, go wash your hands in the kitchen and come eat.”

”Okay.” Li Jinshu turned her head and asked, ”Xu Yun, want to wash up together?”

”Sure.”

Accepting Li Jinshu’s invitation, Xu Yun calmly followed her in.
