Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Chapter 57: Chapter 57: They Won’t Fight in the Street, Will They?

On the way back, Xu Yun was stopped at a red light in his flashy red car when a Bentley pulled up beside him.

Xu Yun turned his head for a single glance and fell in love.

The sheer presence of the luxury sedan, so different from a sports car, instantly made his own sports car feel a little less appealing.

When it came to pure class, the big ”B” really was a cut above.

Besides, even though a sports car was flashy, it wasn’t always practical. You could only take one passenger.

The chassis was low and the seating position was low. It was fine for a young person, but if his mom were to ride in it, it definitely wouldn’t be comfortable.

And there were some roads back home he couldn’t even drive it on.

Just as he was thinking about when he might get a Bentley himself to drive home for his mom’s birthday, he spotted Huang Mengyao and her best friend, Wang Qing, waiting for a car by the roadside at a turn.

To run into them here of all places... talk about a small world for enemies.

A sudden, mischievous thought sparked in his mind.

’Don’t you always listen to your best friend?’

’Then I’ll let you feel what it’s like to be betrayed by her right on the spot.’

Xu Yun hit the brakes, stopping in front of them. He rolled down the window and asked, ”Wang Qing, are you waiting for a car?”

Huang Mengyao and Wang Qing were both stunned by Xu Yun’s sudden appearance.

They hadn’t seen him for just half a month, and now he was driving a Porsche sports car.

Wang Qing, in particular, was shocked that he would actually stop and greet her.

’Looks like all those messages I’ve been sending him lately to get on his good side have finally paid off!’

Wang Qing was secretly overjoyed.

”Yeah.”

She smiled and replied, ”It’s hard to get a car right now. We’ve been waiting for a long time.”

Her meaning was obvious.

”How about I give you a lift?”

Xu Yun, of course, understood her hint. He said deliberately, ”I’ve got room for one in the passenger seat.”

”Wang Qing, let’s just ignore him,”

Huang Mengyao said. ”He gets a little bit of dirty money and starts showing off like an idiot. This car is probably rented, anyway.”

Although she didn’t know why Xu Yun suddenly seemed to be rich, she was convinced it was all fake—just a show to piss her off.

After all, if he were really that rich, would he still be fussing over the hundred-thousand-plus yuan she owed him?

To this day, the court summons he’d had sent to her were still at her house. She was talking to a lawyer about it.

’She wasn’t going to pay back a single cent.’

”Just because you won’t get in doesn’t mean someone else won’t.”

Xu Yun ignored Huang Mengyao, looked at Wang Qing, and smiled. ”Right?”

”Mengyao, you can just wait for a car yourself. I have something urgent to do, so I’ll take a ride with Xu Yun,”

Wang Qing said, and under Huang Mengyao’s astonished gaze, she moved to open the car door and get in.

”Wait, you’re my best friend!”

Huang Mengyao grabbed her arm, shocked. ”How can you get in his car?”

Lately, in her efforts to curry favor with Xu Yun, Wang Qing had been gradually reducing her contact with Huang Mengyao.

Every time Huang Mengyao asked her to go shopping, she would refuse with some excuse.

Still, she hadn’t completely dropped the facade and continued to play the role of a good best friend.

Xu Yun didn’t hurry to leave. Instead, he looked at Wang Qing with a meaningful expression and said, ”Is this what you meant the other day when you said you’d cut all ties with her?”

”Let go of me.”

An opportunity this good was something Wang Qing definitely wasn’t going to pass up.

At this point, she dropped the act. She immediately shook off Huang Mengyao’s hand, demonstrating her ”correct” attitude right in front of Xu Yun.

”Huang Mengyao, who said I was your best friend?”

Wang Qing’s demeanor changed completely. She yanked her hand away from Huang Mengyao’s and said with contempt, ”The disgusting things you’ve done make me sick just thinking about them. You were about to get married, and you were still fooling around with other men.”

”It’s a good thing Xu Yun didn’t marry you.”

Huang Mengyao was dumbfounded for a few seconds before she retorted angrily, ”Do you have any idea what you’re saying?”

”Of course I do.”

Wang Qing sneered. ”Let me be honest. I never considered you my best friend. The only one in my heart is Xu Yun. You were never good enough for him.”

Huang Mengyao was speechless.

”Oh, by the way, let me tell you something else.”

Wang Qing said, ”I was lying to you before. That Zhang Wentao you’re with now is actually a gambling addict. Your money wasn’t an ’investment’—he used it to pay off his loans from loan sharks.”

”Oh, and he also has a wife and kids, so you can give up on your dream of becoming a rich man’s wife.”

”You’re just the other woman now. You gave him your body and lost all your money.”

”No, that’s not true!”

Hearing these words from her best friend, Huang Mengyao felt as if she’d been struck by lightning. She couldn’t believe it.

’How could her best friend, someone she was so close to, do this to her!’

”Believe it or not.”

Wang Qing said smugly, ”Good thing you gave up on Xu Yun. That gave me my chance. So, thank you, my ’dear’ best friend.”

Huang Mengyao was speechless again.

After saying all this, Wang Qing turned to Xu Yun in the car with a smile. ”Darling, are you satisfied now?”

’When a woman decides to take down another woman, she can be truly ruthless.’

Xu Yun glanced at the dumbfounded Huang Mengyao, nodded, and smiled. ”Satisfied.”

”That’s good.”

With that, Wang Qing reached for the Porsche’s passenger door, wanting to slide into the seat under Huang Mengyao’s envious gaze.

But she found it wouldn’t open.

She prompted him, ”Can you unlock the door?”

”Oh, it won’t open?” Xu Yun said with an innocent look. ”Maybe the door is broken?”

”???”

Wang Qing froze, her expression changing instantly. ”Xu Yun, what do you mean by this?”

”I was just kidding around. You actually believed me?”

”You’re playing me?”

”Yep.”

Xu Yun grinned, slammed on the gas, and sped away, leaving a dumbfounded Wang Qing in his dust.

He felt absolutely fantastic.

And also...

’They aren’t going to start fighting right here on the street, are they?’

Suddenly, the sound of a system reward notification rang out.

[By choosing to Do as You Please and toying with his ex-girlfriend and her best friend, the Host has achieved an exceptionally pleasant mood. Reward: 1,000,000 in cash.]

Bank Account Balance: 6,050,000!

Hearing the system’s voice, Xu Yun was pleasantly surprised.

He hadn’t expected his spur-of-the-moment ”revenge” to actually net him a million.

With this, he would have enough money to buy a house.

Back on the roadside, Wang Qing watched Xu Yun drive away, so furious she could stomp her feet.

”Xu Yun, you bastard!”

After shouting her curse, she turned back and met Huang Mengyao’s furious expression, and a sudden fear gripped her.

”Huang Mengyao, I’m warning you. If you dare to lay a hand on me, I’ll call the police.”

”Why?”

Huang Mengyao’s face was pale as she looked at her ”best friend,” losing her composure. ”I was so good to you. Why would you do this to me?”

”Because I hate you!”

Wang Qing answered with a cold sneer, ”I can’t stand to see you have a better life than me.”

”Why?”

”You haven’t forgotten how you treated me back in college, have you?”

Wang Qing mocked, ”You might have forgotten, but I haven’t. I might as well tell you, the only reason I got close to you was for revenge—to turn you into the very kind of person you used to look down on.”

”Weren’t you so high and mighty? So superior? Didn’t you look down on gold-digging women?”

”Now look at yourself. You’re even worse off than I am.”

”At least I wouldn’t climb into some rich guy’s bed like a brainless idiot after a few cheap pickup lines.”

Huang Mengyao was speechless.

”By the way, didn’t you say Xu Yun was suing you?”

Wang Qing ”kindly” reminded her, ”You’d better start thinking about how you’re going to pay him back. After what you did, a guy like him won’t just let it go.”

With that, she turned and walked away.

”!!!”

Fuming, Huang Mengyao threw her bag straight onto the ground!
