The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 999: Chapter 999: My Grandson Has Grown Up

As night deepened, Song Lingsu led his younger siblings to Sunflower Garden with newly acquired flower lanterns to pick up Song Ci and return to the residence.

Song Ci thought to himself, whether it was fate or a divine arrangement, it was surely a twist of fortune for Song Lingsu to encounter the young lady from the Wen Family.

Indeed, such an encounter was unburdened, allowing the young man to see if this girl fit his eye.

Hearing about the presence of outsiders, the maidens appeared a bit bashful, glancing towards their mothers.

Princess Anping’s eyes twinkled as she smiled and said, ”Every house has seniors here, so it’s no harm for the younger ones to meet. Thus, when they are out in the world, they won’t make a stranger of each other, like the flood mistakenly sweeping away the Dragon King’s temple.”

With her status being the most distinguished here, since she spoke thus, no other Madam would cross her brow, and seeing that Song Ci did not object, thoughts began to form in their minds.

The Song Family likely truly intended to arrange marriages for their sons, especially the eldest son.

The young ladies hid behind their mothers, bashfully bowing their heads.

Song Ci found it amusing, thinking that only in ancient times could one witness such a scene drenched in shyness; in modern times, wouldn’t everyone meet openly?

Song Lingsu and Song Lingjie brought their siblings inside, unexpectedly finding not just many elders but some youthful faces in the room too.

Although momentarily stunned, both merely cast a glance before lowering their eyes, daring not to look around, directly approaching Song Ci and saluting.

Song Ci smiled, ”Not bad, you’ve safely guarded your siblings back here. With Princess Anping and other elders present, you young ones should go greet them.”

Song Lingsu and his siblings quickly paid respects to Princess Anping again, their eyes not wandering in the least, their dignified demeanor pleasing the crowd.

Among those present, who did not have a daughter, and even those without had nieces or young female relatives. While the youngest, Song Lingzhou, was not yet mentioned, looking at leading figures Song Lingsu and Song Lingjie, merely fourteen or fifteen-year-olds, yet their stature was long and graceful, demeanor refined, appearances handsome, paired with their family’s background, they were ideal prince charmings.

The Madams were pleased, and the young ladies, partially hiding their faces with round fans or handkerchiefs, stole glances, blushing fiercely with shyness.

Song Ci casually glanced at the young lady from the Wen Family, noticed her stealing a look too but merely one before lowering her head, shy yet without other implications.

However, Song Lingsu visibly hesitated upon seeing Guan Shuyan behind Duke Dingguo, then smiled to greet her, to which she beamed back, saluting and addressing him as Song Brother.

Song Ci was curious, asking, ”What is the reason behind this address?”

”To inform the Madam well, my daughter once audited classes for a year under Grandmaster Fu at Lushan Academy, so he can be considered one of her teachers. A while back, I visited the Academy to pay respects to the teacher and had a brief encounter with Song Brother,” Guan Shuyan replied gracefully.

Song Ci was enlightened: ”So that’s how it is.”

Madam Guan laughed, ”My girl is the youngest at home, indulged dearly, making a joke of it before the Madam. According to Grandmaster Fu, the Eldest Master Song is admirable both in conduct and academics, truly exceptional. Looking at him now, indeed, he is a figure of extraordinary talent.”

Song Lingsu felt his ears flush, replying, ”I dare not accept Madam’s compliment.”

Madam Guan continued, ”And there is Song Third Master, and the Fourth Master, and Third Miss, they are all excellent. Madam truly has great fortune!”

Madam Wen also remarked, ”Madam Guan’s words are indeed true; Madam’s household is filled with talented offspring, truly envy-inducing to others.”

Song Ci modestly responded, exchanged a few more pleasantries, fulfilling his purpose, and then stood up to take his leave.
