The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 958: Chapter 958: Vengeance Served on the Spot

Song Ci sat in the Zen room, twiddling the Buddhist prayer beads, and looked at Jiang Shi who entered from outside, then began to inquire.

”Did you find out the origin of that idle man?”

Jiang Shi’s face looked unpleasant. She nodded and said, ”Mother, do you know who sent him to create trouble?”

Song Ci raised her eyebrows at her, truly sent by someone else?

”It was sent by the Young Madam of the Wei Mansion, specifically to trouble us. I truly don’t understand how we offended her, especially since you and her grandmother were close friends.”

Song Ci was momentarily at a loss, which Young Madam of the Wei Mansion?

Seeing her expression, Jiang Shi said, ”It’s the Young Madam of Marquis Weiyuan Mansion, her maiden family is the Wei Family, granddaughter of Old Madam Wei, seems she’s second in line or something.”

With that, a vague face flashed in Song Ci’s mind, but another clear face became clearer.

”Oh, it’s that unlucky girl, could it be that she came to Songshan Temple?”

She wondered who it was, and it turned out to be that girl who schemed to marry Wei Cheng, that broken sleeve.

Jiang Shi said, ”Yes, it seems she’s here to pray for a child.”

Song Ci chuckled: ”Here to pray for a child? Oh dear, it seems they haven’t had any good news all these years of marriage. But anyway, there’s no use in her coming here.”

Jiang Shi and Song Ruqi heard this and were curious; the words seemed to have a different implication.

With gossiping curiosity, Jiang Shi asked with a smile: ”What do you mean by that, Mother?”

Song Ci, however, didn’t say much, only mysteriously replied: ”There’s a saying that the Buddha says it cannot be said.”

This?

Song Ruqi stomped her foot: ”Grandmother, you’re teasing us too much.”

”Well, it’s nothing much. If she wants a child, she should be looking to her husband. What use is it to pray to Buddha?” Song Ci still didn’t elaborate.

Jiang Shi felt helpless.

”However, if she comes to pray for a child, it’s no big deal. But causing us trouble is wrong. Jiang Shi, later prepare five identical alms and send them to Marquis Weiyuan Mansion, let the Young Madam share in our family’s joy.”

Song Ruqi glared: ”Grandmother, just let her off like that?”

”Well, if you send those five alms out of nowhere to the Marquis Mansion, won’t the Wei Madam inquire? Once she asks and finds out what her daughter-in-law has done, what will happen to the Young Madam?” Song Ci lazily said: ”Your grandmother would rather read some interesting storybooks than teach someone else’s daughter-in-law.”

Song Ruqi raised an eyebrow and understood, smiling as well.

Once the alms were sent to that mansion and spread, could the Young Madam keep her reputation?

”Second Aunt should arrange for a smooth-talking stewardess to prevent misunderstandings,” Song Ruqi suggested to Jiang Shi meaningfully.

Having immersed herself in the back courtyard for many years, Jiang Shi naturally understood the implication and smiled: ”Don’t worry, I’ll make sure the Young Madam shares in our family’s joy.”

Seeing the two of them smiling wryly, Song Ci pursed her lips, twiddling the beads with a smile.

Revenge should be taken on the spot is the correct way to play family politics.

Jiang Shi made arrangements and soon sent someone racing ahead with the alms, beating the Young Madam to Marquis Weiyuan Mansion. The Wei Madam was initially bewildered until she understood the stewardess’s ’heartfelt and sincere’ explanation, and turned livid with anger.

When the Young Madam returned home and paid respects at the main courtyard, she was punished to kneel in the courtyard by the Wei Madam, scolded, and then confined.

”This alms, make sure the Young Madam enjoys it and shares in the joy of the Song Minister’s Mansion, since it was she who personally sought it out.” The Wei Madam sarcastically threw the items sent by the Song Mansion at the maidservant attending to the Young Madam.

The Young Madam’s face turned pale, biting her lower lip tightly.
