The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 955: Chapter 955: Trouble at the Charity Event

Song Ci looked at the harmonious scene in front of her, a smile gracing her lips, feeling as if she were seeing Sister Qiu Xiang handing out charity outside the Hua Mansion.

However, such scenes often have some inappropriate occurrences, like the strong bullying the weak.

Song Ci saw a tall, robust man not far away kicked a woman with a child to the ground, cursing incessantly. The woman, disregarding the pain, clung to his leg, pleading bitterly.

”I beg you, my mother-in-law and child are starving, please give me back the buns.”

”Get lost. You bumped into me, shouldn’t you compensate? Get out of here, or I’ll beat you to death.” The man, though wearing patched but still relatively clean clothes, said viciously.

Someone found it unbearable and spoke up, only to be cursed back by him, leaving no one else daring to intervene.

The man indeed looked somewhat fierce and menacing.

Song Ci’s face darkened.

Song Ruqi, standing beside her, being hot-tempered, said coldly, ”Outrageous, someone, go arrest that person.”

The Song Family was doing charity work, yet dare someone cause trouble, they indeed had quite the nerve.

Madam Jiang said, ”Keep it down, don’t scare the people.”

The steward went to handle it, while Song Ci also averted her gaze. However, what they thought would be easily resolved turned into a ruckus, with the man shouting loudly that the Prime Minister’s Mansion was bullying them, looking down on the poor, and that doing good deeds was just for show, a way to gain fame.

This chaos even attracted some who watched the excitement without minding the seriousness, causing a commotion.

Seeing some backing, the man became even more arrogant, speaking more vigorously.

”I’ve seen plenty of families like yours; this bit of food is nothing to you. If you’re really generous, you should let us eat our fill.”

”That’s right, just two buns, not even enough to fill the gaps between my teeth.”

Madam Jiang and Song Ruqi were furious, looking at those beside them: ”What are you waiting for? Go take them away.”

What nonsense! How dare they spout such absurdities here.

Song Ci also chuckled in anger; considering their status, they shouldn’t squabble with these troublemakers, lest they lower themselves.

But who is Song Ci?

It’s the hot-tempered Song Duidui.

Argue a bit to feel better, why not?

Song Ci held Nan Shan’s hand: ”Make way for your Madame.”

Nan Shan’s eyelid twitched, looking at Nanny Gong, should they just take him away?

Nanny Gong held her forehead, knowing that without making a fuss, they wouldn’t be able to leave.

Song Ci ignored their silent exchange, released Nan Shan’s hand, and walked over.

Madam Jiang and the others were startled, quickly catching up, advising, ”Mother, let’s not stoop to their level, lest you upset yourself unnecessarily.”

”It’s fine, I just want to see who dares to act so boldly, begging for food yet wanting to eat to their heart’s content. Who is so capable, thinking they’re reaching for the sky?” Song Ci’s voice was full of vigor, making many with good hearing chuckle.

The people of Song Mansion wouldn’t dare let Song Ci take risks; they almost surrounded her until they were a few meters away from the idle man, watching vigilantly.

Song Ci sized up the idle man, saying, ”So it’s you, no wonder you’re so bold, your face is bigger than a basin, the oil on it could be used for cooking, right? I’m puzzled, you’re here begging for food yet want to eat till full? What’s going on, is there a Taotie monster in your belly, so greedy and gluttonous, that you dare speak so arrogantly?”
