The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 960: Chapter 960: Matching Birthdates

Regarding Madam Song’s request, Song Ci agreed without hesitation.

Firstly, she had just returned to the manor and was truly exhausted in both body and mind, too tired to argue; secondly, letting the child stay with her was merely for companionship, as there were others to properly care for him.

Thus, Song Ci cheerfully took the child, wrapped him securely, and left in a soft sedan.

Madam Song: ”...”

Wasn’t she supposed to say a few words to her? So straightforward and decisive?

Could it be that Song Ci was showing her dissatisfaction?

Madam Song felt uneasy, grasping Housekeeper Fang’s hand with a face full of anxiety: ”Do you think the Lady is displeased with me? But, Dan Ge’er’s fever wasn’t my doing, you know. His return to the main courtyard coincided with that autumn rain and the heavy thunder.”

Housekeeper Fang: ”Madam, it’s naturally not your fault, but you shouldn’t sulk and send the child away. Doing this makes it difficult to maintain closeness with him later.”

”I—I’m just worried. What can I do if he isn’t close to me?” Madam Song said while reluctantly wiping her eyes.

Seeing this, Housekeeper Fang sighed and said, ”Now that the child is being raised by the Lady, it’s just as well. In the future, you will spend mornings and evenings in reflection, and getting to spend more time with him will help too. When you have no business, visit Chunhui Hall to see him. That way, you won’t grow too distant.”

Madam Song nodded.

”During this period, focus purely on recovering your health. After all, the Young Master is of age, and the marriage might be settled any day. You have plenty to keep busy with,” Housekeeper Fang said softly. ”There’s also the fact that when you gave birth to the child, you were cut with scissors; you have to recover from that as well. The Prime Minister can’t just keep sleeping in the side chamber.”

Madam Song stiffened, saying, ”You’re right.”

Seeing she understood, Housekeeper Fang felt relieved. In reality, now the Madam has both Shuang’er and her daughter, even if there’s activity on Song Zhiyuan’s side, her position remains solid.

People are never satisfied; they have shared harmony over the years without any women coming between them; naturally, she wants this happiness to continue forever. Isn’t that the idea of perfection?

Madam Song licked her lips, whispering: ”Mama, take mine and Dan Ge’er’s birthdates and find someone reliable to check if they clash.”

Housekeeper Fang was shocked: ”Madam, have you lost your senses!”

”Just checking to ease my mind,” Madam Song said awkwardly. ”How could there be such a coincidence? With me, he resists to such an extent, despite me being his biological mother.”

”Madam, surely this is just chance. Perhaps the child naturally values feng shui and believes the main courtyard doesn’t favor him. How could you say it doesn’t match?”

”When you say it, don’t you think it’s pretty bizarre?” Madam Song said with a sideways glance. ”Looking can’t hurt; maybe the birth dates truly clash?”

Housekeeper Fang almost covered her mouth before whispering: ”If the Lady and Prime Minister hear of this, what will they think?”

Madam Song laughed bitterly: ”Then what to do? There’s always a thorn in my heart, and it won’t be settled unless removed. Don’t worry; if they truly clash, let him be raised by the Lady forever. Wouldn’t that be better for everyone? There have been cases with weak maternal bonds. Regardless, we are biologically mother and child, and that won’t change. So go ahead.”

Housekeeper Fang’s heart felt heavy, letting out a long sigh.
