The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 962: Chapter 962: The True Prince Min

When Shang Pu opened his eyes, what he saw was the familiar room; the interior was dim, and as soon as he opened his eyes, a familiar voice reached his ears.

”My lord, how are you feeling?”

Shang Pu turned his head to look at Shang Meiniang, his voice hoarse: ”What happened?”

Shang Meiniang’s body stiffened.

”I took the medicine, so why is it still happening?” Shang Pu stared unblinkingly at her: ”Meiniang, answer me.”

Shang Meiniang lowered her head: ”The mother Gu was activated.”

Shang Pu shuddered all over, struggling to sit up from the bed, his sharp eyes fixed on her: ”That’s impossible.”

That person would never risk themselves, it’s impossible to activate the mother Gu.

He rolled up his sleeve, the bulge on his wrist was smooth now, and it was unclear where that troublesome worm had gone.

The Twin Gu, twins in bond, his was the child Gu, and it was unbearable, how would that person endure?

Shang Meiniang did not dare to speak.

”What else are you hiding from me? Meiniang, you know I seek death, I could end it by just biting my tongue.”

Shang Meiniang was startled, crawled forward on her knees, bit her lip, and said: ”My lord, the mother Gu, the mother Gu is on Princess Consort Ji.”

Shang Pu’s expression hardened, staring at the top of Shang Meiniang’s head, as if trying to stare a hole through it: ”What did you say?”

”Just now, news came that Princess Consort Ji contracted an epidemic on her way back to the capital. My lord, you also said, that person is a madman; for your own sake, you cannot oppose him.”

Shang Pu was silent for a while, then laughed: ”So this is a lesson for me, to make me obedient? What a clever strategy.”

”My lord.”

”I’m tired, you may leave.” Shang Pu lay back down, turning his back to her, and said: ”Go tell your master he can do as he pleases; after all, my body doesn’t have many years left, what is there to fear in death?”

”My lord...”

”Get out!”

Shang Meiniang flinched, gritted her teeth, and turned to leave.

The room went quiet.

Shang Pu suddenly spoke: ”Is what she said true?”

A shadow flashed from the dark corners, kneeling on the ground, replied: ”It is true, the Dowager suddenly fainted, and there’s talk that it was the Empress Dowager’s doing, the Imperial Physician diagnosed it as an epidemic.”

Shang Pu sneered: ”What a ploy, did he really think he could manipulate me because of her?”

”Master, but she is your biological mother...”

”Silence.” Shang Pu coldly glared at the person on the ground: ”A biological mother who can’t even recognize her own son? Years ago, I even said in front of her I was her son, the real Chu Ze, yet she embraced a fake, saying I was some lunatic pretending to be an Imperial Prince. Ridiculous.”

Chu Ze, that is his real identity, not some sickly member of the Shang family, but a true, honorable member of the Imperial family, who was kidnapped and altered with medicine into a sickly appearance, always living under surveillance.

The shadow’s mouth dried up: ”Master, what do you want to do?”

Shang Pu felt a sudden pang of melancholy.

What could he want to do, what can he do; among the people around him, who can he truly trust, can he fully trust even this one before him?

Even if he sent out information, who would believe what he says, even if they believe, why should he tell that high and mighty imperial brother that he is the true Prince Min?

He himself doesn’t have many years left, why should he be left to watch as his brother enjoys the riches of the Chu family empire, sitting peacefully, surveying the world?

Shang Pu, no, Chu Ze’s eyes grew quite menacing, said: ”What can I, a sickly man, do? Just linger on, you may leave.”
